Wife and I and brother came here for sunset dinner. Seating was good but manager or someone made us close our umbrella because of a small breeze, which made it too hot.
We had "Knotcho's" for appetizer, one small plate serves 3 adults easily and it's pretty good.
Ordered 2 orders of jumbo buffalo wings, one medium and one hot. 2 orders feeds 3 adults well. Wing flavor was very good, ask for extra sauce. Came with celery and ranch.
For a lake restaurant it's pretty reasonable, except for the $3.75 for PBR on draft, that about $2 bucks too much for a glass of PBR.
Service was very good, I don't remember our servers name, she was medium height, thin but not skinny, brunette, funny and very helpful.
Great sunset view, can't be beat on the lake.

The place was a little busy, but we were seated right away inside with the ac. The view of the lake was amazing. The food was better than we thought it would be. The philly was great but pricey, the shrimp were incredible. Service was very good. It was a Saturday, so all servers were working. The only problem we had was, the door to go outside, kept slamming, loudly. It would not have been a problem, but it seemed to be opened every 10 seconds or so......BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG,,all throughout the meal. I suppose everyone who works there was used to the BANG!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise, we will be back.

It was ok. Service took quite a while and food was just ok. Could be a gold mine with some focus, effort and oversight. We'll try again next year.

Stopped in here for a snack and a beer with a friend. I don’t know how this place has managed to stay open. But then again, if you are the only place to eat near the marina, then maybe you can get away with it or maybe their regulars don’t mind eating poor quality food.
After reading the menu description, which SOUNDED really good, we ordered the club sandwich billed a a “craft sandwich”, which came with onion rings. We also ordered a side of watermelon and draft beers.
What arrived was a sandwich on the cheapest white bread imaginable with two slices of extremely fatty & thin bacon, a few slices of lunch meat, a minuscule dab of mashed avocado, lettuce and tomato. And for this they are charging $14?!!
The watermelon was light pink and not fresh looking. 2 1” slices $5. We sent that back.
One last try, we ordered the $9 pretzels with their “Signature Sweetwater 420 pale ale cheese dipping sauce“. The server assured us they were “really good“. Three pretzel sticks arrived with what appeared to be cheese whiz. Like everything else, they were bland, with very little salt and very disappointing.
We are not food snobs, but we do expect to get a good value for money and food that tastes better than something you could buy out of a vending machine or at a remote gas station off the interstate. Everything about the place is cheap - even the utensils are the cheapest, flimsiest, plastic utensils you can buy…but they sure know how to charge the customer!
In my experience, the food that arrived at our table did not match the mouthwatering descriptions on the menu or justify what they were charging for it.

Bad service due to skin color.
I was seated with my fiance and we were waiting for a waiter.
A white guy and his white son sat next to us and not a minute later they were waited on.
I asked the maiterd who was our waiter and she pointed to him, the one who waited on the white family.
A black man in a white establishment can't get waited on in order based on who was seated first. I literally waited 15 minutes and the white guy sat and was addressed in lest than a minute.
Interested. No need to go any further.
I will let the masses know on how and what to expect when visiting this eatery and I will spread the information like vitriol at work and with friends. With covid going on, you would think the service portion would have been a first priority.

Enjoy waterfront views while sampling local cuisines.
It all starts with Manager, Alfred. He has trained staffers to provide good service & every time we dine at Allatoona’s Sunset Grille, our expectations have been exceeded!
If you’ve lost faith in our younger generation as far as work ethic, commitment to service, and over-the-top friendliness—you’ll be impressed by the way all these guys hustle at work in order to satisfy your dining experience—a must do—check this place out!!!
We don’t usually pass by many other restaurants to patronize a lake setting restaurant—but this place has become our summer go-to stop for dining & outdoor entertainment. The bartenders @ Sunset Grille serve up yummiest cocktails, and the live music creates just the right amount of R & R.
Sunset Grille’s off-the-beaten-path restaurant is a great thing that gives people access to the water without needing a boat or a waterfront cottage. The locals probably like keeping this quaint spot a secret—enjoying a setting that provides a lakeside sunset glow like none other.
Christian, the food manager, is highly visible asking patrons about the quality of his food preparations. Kaitlyn, Matt, and Ash are a few of our favorite servers—warm & friendly, honest about their opinions and take care of us.

So the first year we had a boat we went there every time. Next Two years we didn’t because they cut the portions in half and increased the price. The fish tacos are so gross now. The only thing I would say is safe on the menu is the pretzel with cheese. We tried them again one more time this year and it was a bowl of dog food pretty much. Sad because it used to be so yummy. They do make good drinks though

We've been going to Sunset Grille for a few years now, and this year is by far the worst it has ever been. We placed our orders, and then realized we forgot to ask for fried pickles. No big deal, I thought, the waitress will come back shortly and we'll add it to our order. The waitress did not come back. Not after my glass was empty... not after my son's glass was empty... not after my husband's beer bottle was empty. We did not see her again until she delivered the dinners, at which time we asked for refills all the way around. I had the fish tacos, and they were so bad. The fish had no seasoning and was severely overcooked and dry. The corn tortillas of the tacos fell apart, but as I was never supplied with utensils, and the waitress didn't notice and wasn't available, I had to just leave the taco remnants on the plate which actually was for the better). My husband had chicken tacos, and he asked for no onion. What he got was corn tortillas with flavorless, overcooked chicken and cheese. No sauce of any kind - maybe they thought "no onions" means leave off the sauce if there's onion in it? My son had a shrimp burger, which I tasted. It was just gross. It tasted like mushy breadcrumbs. The only flavor came from the remoulade and bread. The server never stopped by after delivering the meal and never asked if everything was okay. This nasty meal that was barely edible was $71. There was nothing, and I mean nothing, good about our experience there tonight. Food - awful. Service - nonexistent. Price - very high, which I wouldn't have minded if the food had been decent. Stay away. Maybe next year they'll get it right.

The view and cold beer are the only things Sunset Grille has going for it. Lake Allatoona definitely needs some better places to eat on the water! Food isn't great, service has been poor the last two times we've gone. We went once and wanted to give it another shot, both times were disappointing, we won't be back.

It is really sad when you are a repeat costumer for years week after week then the service gets bad, I finally snapped when we had been there for 20 minutes and no menus, drink order or even eye contact. Place just opened and all the tables are dirty from the night before but the no service is a deal breaker! The " guy that seemed in charge" didn't care if we left or not! Drove down to Acworth fish camp near I-75 .
Holly crap this place is AWSOME!
