Amazing dinner, atmosphere, and the waitstaff were so knowledgeable and attentive. Tayla was great and she alone would bring us back but the food was impressive, and absolutely amazing. Pair it all with an amazing wine list, perfectly paired desserts and starters. We will be...back very soon to try the chefs next creations.More

I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff friendly and got to our table immediately. Super nice waitstaff. The first problem was a charcuterie board that had a meat that wasn’t interchangeable. Not a big deal but disappointed. We waited...nearly 35 minutes for two appetizers. It wasn’t packed it was just a busy Saturday. Our server was apologetic but 35 minutes is extreme. We ordered lamb lollipops and what said goat cheese fondue. Had I read the description a little more closely maybe I wouldn’t have been as suprised but it was a scoop of goat cheese floating in a marinara which was tasty but definitely not a fondue which elicits creamy dip of Sorts. Seemed like a deconstructed cheese stick to me. The lamb lollipops were very little meat and very greasy. I feel like had they been a little meatier they would have been “ok”. It the weird bbq sauce was puzzling. Then got a carrot cake Whoopi pie…very dry. We had to order ice cream to get through it. Sorry just a miss on the food and delivery time all around.More

Downtown Woodstock, GA, has many good restaurants. Some offer great food, great drinks, and a great staff. Only a few offer all three. Rootstock is one of the few that deliver all of them, plus the most essential criterion: consistency. My wife and her best...friend enjoyed all of the above this past Saturday afternoon. Their favorite server, Bella, was outstanding, as usual. When servers deliver this level of consistency, I make it a point to compliment the individual in front of their manager, to acknowledge their efforts. I recommend Rootstock without hesitation and look forward to our next visit.More

The food was excellent with a flare for unique combinations of flavors and textures. The service was wonderful! The roasted octopus was tender and the presentation was beautiful.

We have tried it twice and will never go back. The food is absolutely disgusting. We left most of it on the plates and asked for our check. The waiter said nothing about the fact that we took one bite and left the rest. We...will never go back.More

After living in LA for 33 years we have been searching North GA for a truly nice venue with good food, entertainment and service. We finally found it at Rootstock. The food was very good with the octopus and venison being the highlight of our...meal. The portions may not be huge but they are adequate for most. The cost was reasonable and the service was very friendly and attentive. If you are a guy that eats 4 hamburgers at a seating, this may not be the place for you. We couldn't have asked for more (with the possible exception that they don't stock Southern Comfort). We'll definitely be back.More

The service was great. The food was so so. Seems like it might be more for wine and entertainment and the food is secondary. We had gnocchi carbonara (a very different take on regular carbonara - have an open mind), bistro steak, grilled pork chop,...and cast iron duck. We were all happy, but none really stood out. Deserts were pound cake and carrot cake whoopie. Again, have an open mind - they're not the traditional.More

SLOW, SLOW, SLOW SMALL, OVERPRICED, MARGINAL FOOD. Took 2 - 2.5 hours on a Saturday lunch and the restaurant had very few patrons seated. There were 6 of f us and a toddler. Four of us went someplace after lunch to actually have a meal....Portions are similar to what a small individual appetizer plates . That was considered their lunch plate. For the 6 of us it was 180.00 which included the tip.More

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had. First, we made a reservation. When I made the reservation, I was assured that we had a table on the rooftop. However, when we arrived, we were told that no rooftop reservations...are accepted. We waited a few minutes and were seated on the rooftop. Problem averted, or so we thought. We ordered drinks. Avoid the True to Our Roots, which is low quality red wine with no sour as described by the waitress. We waited 90 minutes for our dinner to be delivered. After 90 minutes, one person received a raw half chicken, another was served ten lettuce leaves with three skimpy frozen shrimp, and the third person in our party received five olives and two or three pickled veggies. To compensate for the raw chicken, a "free" cheesecake dessert was offered. It was very evident why the cheesecake was offered as the comped dessert: it was awful!! The cheesecake was described as a key lime cheesecake. There was no lime and the crust had a strong nutmeg taste. We were stunned by the disconnected flavors. So much so that we kept tasting it to make sure that it was as awful as we thought. Final conclusion: the cheesecake was a horrible mistake. With all the fantastic restaurants in the Atlanta area, Rootstock should be skipped in favor of restaurants that actually serve edible food.More

The new live music "listening room" is a great addition to the restaurant. Very very nice set up. However, the food and service is lacking. I feel that the service will improve as it's never been lacking in the past, however the food is still...a roll of the dice. The bacon shrimp were good as was the pimento cheese. The steak was decent as well. The half chicken was the tiniest bird I've ever seen as so dry it was hard to swallow and the gnocchi carbonara was a gooey mess. The food has never been a strong point to this establishment and it's not getting better. If I attend another music event, I'll eat at home first.More

Hands-down the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life! Food was given in very small portions, food was cold, servers gave the wrong food to the wrong people at my table and very expensive.

My wife and I decided to go here for our 31st wedding anniversary and we had a great time. There is something on the menu for everyone and we always have a difficult time finding a restaurant as she is a vegetarian and I am...not. The only draw back for me personally was the limited beer menu but that wasn't a huge problem. Service was efficient, and friendly. I had the jicama and avocado salad with chicken breast and she had the eggplant lasagna. Both were huge servings plus we had a bowl of Mussels Diablo, which weren't that much "diablo" as they were tasty with rosemary. My salad was extremely refreshing on a hot Georgia evening. Convenient parking available.More

Wonderful restaurant with great drinks, food, and service. I was able to try wines I would have never thought to try before- the tampernillo was AMAZING with everything we ate. Staff was super helpful with helping me choose what to eat and took proper care...to avoid my allergies. The carrot cake whoopie pie was the cherry on top of a great date night. We are going to come back for a wine dinner soon :)More
