Stopped by here mid-afternoon for a late lunch. Nice atmosphere, lots of seating and very casual. We had fried shrimp with onion rings and fries. Shrimp tasted fresh and was nicely prepared and the onion rings were delicious.
Everyone in our party agreed the food was fantastic. The edamame might be the best we have ever had. The service was good. We sat outside and the road noise was rather loud, but who cares...you're on island time enjoying great food and a great...beach.More
Great food in a good setting. We sat on the deck in the front and it was very comfortable. I had the Fisherman's Trio and my wife had salt and pepper shrimp. We don't eat meat and the restaurant was very accommodating and subbed a...large piece of flounder for the sausage in my wife's meal. They have a good selection of ice cold local beer and a variety of wines. This is one place that doesn't take reservations, so it's nice when you just want to walk in for a great meal. A great experience in a great setting.More
There was a wait to get into this place, so I knew it would be good. I had perused the menu before so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to order. We went specifically for the beer cheese hushpuppies that were...so good, I forgot to get a picture of them. Seriously, they were devoured immediately. My husband had the fish and chips, I had the harvest salad and my daughter had the kids' chicken fingers. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I was especially surprised by the Harvest Salad. As a vegetarian, I am used to eating poorly or not at all at fish restaurants. But they definitely got this salad right! The roasted squash was so tasty. I only wish there was more of it on the salad. It was that good.
Our wait was only 10-15 minutes. I never saw anyone write down our name on the waiting list, but somehow, they never forgot about us and we were seated quickly. Our server was attentive and pleasant and answered all of our questions about the menu. We will definitely return when we go back to Tybee Island.More
My sister and I are having our first grown up,no kids trip in years! We had the blue crab poutine (highly recommended!!) The fried shrimp and Mahi sandwich. The onion rings are delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. The beer options are great - they...even had Mead!More
Last night (March 29) we had dinner at Salt Island. It was truly outstanding and the service was incredible. Since this was only our second experience dining inside, we were impressed that all staff members wore masks and we felt safe and respected.
Interestingly enough,...our first indoor dining experience in over a year was at the Grey - one of the top restaurants in the US. Let me tell you, last night at Salt Island was damn close. In fact, chef Eric is truly talented and doesn’t need to take second place to anyone.
Our party of three had the shrimp n grits, the fishermen’s stew and the fish n chips - all were delicious. I encourage all to try Salt Island, you will not be disappointed.More
3/24—literally JUST FINISHED our take-out meal and couldn’t wait to give a review. We got two orders of the fish & chips (OMG the potato twists!), heirloom carrots and squash and were blown away by everything!!! Also got key lime pie but are far too...full to eat that right now. We are staying in Fort Screven on the beach so we can walk right over. This place is an absolute GEM! ❤️More
