Country cooking was very good. Off the beaten path, need more service personnel. Not fancy, just tables and chairs.

Just ate here... again. We love country resutraunts. This is one of the few around the Atlanta area. We meet up with family here. Good food, friendly service, and country atmosphere. We eat out a lot, travel often for leisure, and eat at all classes...of restaurants. If you’re looking for a simple neighborhood country kitchen restaurant, I recommend Home Spun to positive, friendly people who enjoy a good meal.More
The portion were very small. I asked for mayo... I got moldy packets.. the ketchup was the same. The food was cold and greasy. The service was bad too. The waitress only wanted to wait on the local customers. Do not go here.
The service was great and the food was very simple, basic food. I had the meatloaf. It was ok, but needed seasoning. The green beans were great and the cole slaw was pretty good. The prices were great. Lots of food for the price.
This is a run of the mill meat and two country cooking place. Used to be better before they moved. Mostly canned vegetables and over cooked meats. I love country cooking, but this joint needs a shake up.
The food is ok, they always forget your bread and utensils on to go orders. The folks that work there are not very friendly.
Normally I don’t do bad reviews tonight was horrible with service we waited 30 minutes for our food while people that ordered after us got their food we ask our server where the food was she said it would be about 5 more minutes I’m...thinking she forgot to put order in still waited asked a guy that came out of kitchen another 5 minutes no one came with food so we left after being there for over 45 minutes with no answer we left hungry!!!More
Went by for lunch with the wife and we both ordered the fried chicken. The vegetables were good however the chicken was very greasy. I didn’t even finish mine. Confident that if we ordered the vegetable platter it would have been a good meal. Nice...friendly staff but food not worth a stop.More
Ate twice at old location and food was bland and not fresh. When I sat down there was another couple a few tables over and no sign of any employee whatsoever. After about 10 minutes a lady stuck her head out of the kitchen and...yelled across the room to the other couple , calling them by name and asked if they needed anything. The man and lady had to point at me to let the server know she had another customer. I ordered Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra. The steak was obviously from a frozen food delivery and not good. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and the okra did not seem to be done. I don’t think this place would be in business if it were not a meeting place for older Buford/Sugar Hill residents. Oh about 20 minutes after I arrived I saw my server go out the front door. Neither her or the lady who relieved her ever came back to my table a single time. I gave it a shot! Just plain Bad!!!!More
My husband and I have been here three times and won't go back. We love good home cooked food but this is definitely not that. You will wait forever to pay. Service is terrible. Food is bland and keeps getting worse. So sad. We really...need some good home cooking in sugar hill.More
One of our favorite places to eat in Buford. My favorite is the Country Chicken, a large boneless breast, fried over rice with gravy. The Mac and cheese as well as the sweet potato’s are excellent. My Mother likes the turnip greens. You get nice...portions and at a reasonable price. Their vegetable plate is also good.More
I know this is a Country Cooking restaurant, but their menu lists all the entrees that are country-fried, or fried, and then they list the pork chop without saying it is fried. My friend and I both ordered the pork chop assuming it was grilled....It came out country-fried. My friend ate it anyway, and said that it wasn't good. I cannot eat wheat so I asked if I could order something else. The waitress said that I would have to pay for the pork chop as well, because "you already touched it, and everything here is fried, even if it doesn't say so." I pointed out that the other items were listed as fried but not the pork chop. She came back 10 minutes later to tell me that she could only give me a vegetable as replacement so that "he won't find out." She was referring the owner/cook! I asked if the owner could come out and resolve the matter, and she said that he was too busy. She finally sent Rhonda to our table, who told me that everything here is fried, and my waitress was tired of being "harassed" about it, and so Rhonda offered to "buy the pork chop" for me. I can't believe the owner would make staff pay for food when there is a mix-up. I asked if the hamburger steak is fried, and she said no. (So, everything here is fried, except when it is not.) I did not argue the point, and politely took her up on her offer to "buy" my pork chop. Rhonda never apologized for anything, and both waitresses seemed somewhat afraid of the owner, whom I never saw. It was a bizarre experience, and their rude answers to my meek request was jaw-dropping, for both me and my friend. He recommended the place to me, and says that he will never come back. Neither will I.More
Food is good, but service is always slow. They have trouble keeping servers from what I can tell. Desserts are really tasty.
Visited the restaraunt with my family and my parents. The service was great and they tended to us well. The food was average overall. Some flavors really popped. But some were bland. On top of this, the prices are a little on the high side...for what you get.More
This was a convenient restaurant to meet a friend from Duluth. There is a selection of vegetables each day. There are special meals offered on each day of the week. I haven't had all the vegetables but the ones I had, green beans and turnip...greens were just "ok". I got the fried chicken on rice. It was good but not fried in the way I am used to. The waitress was excellent. Her name was Sarah Jane. We had dessert. The Apple Crisp looked good. If you want ice creme with it you have to order 2 desserts, one apple crisp and one ice creme. The prices are good, in my opinion. I would not eat here regularly because there are other restaurants I like better. But, occasionally, it's ok.More
