We were looking for a spot after exploring Stone Mountain Park for a cold beer and stumbled upon this little German gem. We enjoyed some of their own brewed beer while watching the German soccer game. The beer was great, the atmosphere was nice and the cookies we tried reminded us of home. If you like to experience "Deutsche Gastwirtschaft"... More

Imagine my surprise when I found out there was a German restaurant within walking distance of our B&B- and it had a German bakery! Was very pleased with the appetizers, the meal, and especially the desserts. Definitely a place to return in the future.

I really want to like this place. I really do. But I don't. The location is perfect for a visit to the park. The decor is fantastic. The name evokes a feeling of community. It's easy to find and has lots of free parking. The menu has a variety of foods and desserts. I really want to like this place.... More

We came across this restaurant after spending a day in the park. Although it was that awkward time between lunch and dinner we were made welcome and seated right away. We have spent much time in Germany and were a little surprised to find such an authentic German restaurant in Georgia. The food was delicious, the beer and cider likewise.... More

Memories of two years ago flooded back in after 10 minutes of trying to get a seat, finally walking into the restaurant and very brusquely being told to go back to the entrance and wait for the hostess to seat me. The entrance is also a bakery and the young women working there are taking care of customers leaving, customers... More

This was our first stop after I picked up relatives from the airport. We are German and love good German food and this place did not disappoint. I had the potato pancakes which were delicious. One of my cousins ordered the corned beef hash and it looked soooo good. She wasn't able to finish her large portion. We'll likely go... More

My wife and I ate here while camping at Stone Mountain because of the ad in the campground flier. Glad we did. It was a Friday evening at 7 and the wait was under 10 minutes. The Bavarian pretzel is a must try. The bier cheese dipping sauce was excellent. I had the saurbraten and she had the sausage platter,... More

This is a little gem, really good menu with the best pretzels I have ever tasted. They brew their own beer and cider which was fantastic. The staff were attentive and informative. I would highly recommend this great bar and restaurant.

Description
The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.
