The title provides the extent of my German, but I was inspired. The building itself looks like it was ripped out a quaint German village. Upon entering, the smells from the bakery hit you and all those great plans on doing salads and staying away from sugar get left in the parking lot somehow. I went with the jaegerschnitzel, which... This was by far the best German food we had ever had....and home-brewed beer. It was easy to get to from the west gate of the Park. The service was efficient, and very cordial and helpful for a relative German food novice, as myself. Cannot say enough good about this place. Wish I had it in my hometown.

We happened to drive by and never had german food, but we were definitely surprised and impressed. There is a nice variety and I had the chicken Cordon Bleu which was amazing and could have eaten another dish of it. Not so german, lol. The owner was there and though a bit cold at first, opened up and was nice... More

Had dinner her 2 nights in a row while staying at The Stone Mountain Manor right up the street. The service was great and the food was wonderful, best Chicken Cordon Bleu I ever had! Got it 2 nights in a row! And the manager/bartender made the best Apple Martini's!!

Very friendly staff and excellent food. The appetizer was very good as was the wine and German beer flight. The main courses were excellent. We would recommend it without reservation.

Stopped by for Sunday brunch. All items are alacarte (not a buffet) which we liked. There was a nice brunch selection with many German speciality foods. I ordered an apple-stuffed pancake and it was burned on the bottom. My husband's French toast was average. Our waitress was decidedly brusque and rather unfriendly.

Stopped here for brunch after hiking Stone Mountain. The Chicken Reuben was amazing. Staff was very friendly and service was quick. Definitely recommend.

Passing through Stone Mountain we were looking for somewhere to have breakfast. Did not have anything in mind, but were fortunate to spot this unassuming restaurant on the corner. Their brunch menu looked good, as did the regular breakfast menu. I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife enjoyed the fresh baked bread sampling. Will definitely plan another visit.

Great atmosphere, great service and great food. There were 6 of us and we shared the giant pretzel as appetizer! Best soft pretzel and the German mustard and bier cheese were awesome! Big portions and well priced! Loved the beer choices!! We will be back!!

Description
The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.
