We absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was authentic, the beer was fantastic, and the restaurant, bar, and bakery were all beautiful. We thoroughly recommend this place and are sad it's so far from where we live. Stumbling onto this happy surprise was a hit on our little vacation!

German restaurants are hard to come by so we always try to visit when we find one. This one did not disappoint. Brat plate was delicious and sauerbraten was very good, too. Big variety of on site brewed beer in addition to bottled favorites.

Had a terrific Reubens sandwich and fries (large portions) with house made corned beef, sauerkraut, mustard, and thousand island dressing- just great! ! I was going to take a picture and add it to my rating, but by the time I thought of it again it was all gone! To summarize, local joint, not a chain, great food, hefty portions, and... More

We've traveled in Germany quite a bit, and this food was spot on! The owners actually are from Germany. Plus some of the biggest and best German pretzels we've ever had. Even if you just go for the bakery and not a meal, the pastries are amazing!

I'm not too familiar or a big fan of german food but if you want to try, this is a good place. Seems pretty authentic although im not too sure but for Atlanta, i bet its as close as you can get. Cute place to eat some yummy sausages!! Make sure to ask for description of the food to make... More

Wanting a unique dining experience rather than a national chain, and preferring European dishes to American, my search came across this fantastic gem near Stone Mountain, which also happened to be fairly convenient to locate, considering the area (used my WAZE navigator app). We chose from several different appetizers on the menu, and were not disappointed with any of them...raclette,... More

Turkey sandwich on pretzel roll was delicious. Sunny day, so the porch was a good choice. Excellent service.

I likely won't be stopping here again. Here are my thoughts... Food: The Pretzels were good however they use the same coarse american salt you get on amusement park pretzels. The Schnitzel and potato salad were both flavorless, and left a lot to be desired. If you've experienced authentic German food you will be disappointed. Building: The restaurant looked somewhat... My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for early dinner, and were sorely dis-satisfied. There were only 2 occupied tables in the place and one was eating when we walked in. We sat at the bar and thought we must have become invisible. We could see multiple wait staff in the drink prep area beside the bar... More

Description
The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.
