We had a disappointing experience at Mezza Luna last night. We took our 21 year old son and his girlfriend out to celebrate his 21st birthday. He was excited as we have talked about Mezza Luna over the past years and how much we love...it. Our waitress was very rude. She was visibly annoyed when we asked questions re. Menu and how a few dishes were made. We asked for a few minutes to decide and she walked away clearly annoyed. We then had to flag her down for our appetizer order. We were ready to order our main meal. Again we felt ignored. It took a long time for her to come back. She took our order and again, she behaved as though she was totally annoyed with us. She would not smile or banter in any way. It was uncomfortable. We then asked for the dessert menu and she replied that we need to clear the table first! It felt as though we were being admonished. When we received our bill for $250 I realized we were being charged $9 to use our credit card. I would also advise you to ask for the prices of the specials as 4 ravioli were $39 and the special dessert was $15! The food was great. However the rude server and credit card charge was a bit much. People pay by cards all the time. Build it into the price so customers don’t feel gouged. Unfortunately our experience means we won’t be back. Too many other choices!! It was a disappointing experience.More

This is an above average, but not excellent, Italian restaurant. Staff is wonderful. The calamari was fantastic-- I would get that again. The entrees we had were tasty, but a little greasy. We had lasagne, gnocchi special, and pappardelle pasta with tomatoes and pork cheeks....The flourless chocolate cake was very good.More

Made reservation and had to change the time for Christmas Eve. They had no problem accommodating us. Seated right away, the server came over and took drink orders. Service was, as usual, fantastic. Great specials were being offered. Food once again was fantastic and plentiful.... Nothing was taken home! Dessert and coffee ended the night. Great place to be on Christmas Eve with family.More

Just went for the first time, and it was great! I had the veal parmesan and it was Faltastic! Service was great, food came out quick. The atmosphere is a little odd, small place but it is cozy. We both loved it and will be...back!More

We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary on a Wednesday night. They warmly welcomed us even though we didn't have reservations. The chicken piccata was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the broccolini, tomato, mushroom side vegetable was not over cooked, but hot and generous and enough for two...to share. My husband had the chicken parmesan, and we both switched out the spagetti that was on the menu to the fettucini made in house. They are known for their fresh pasta. The TV's played a travel video of Italy which was a nice departure from sports or news. The music was Italian as far as I know, definitely not pop culture. The tables are close together because it is a small intimate space. Our waitress was attentive and cheerful. We will definitely be back!More

Restaurants that charge fees for non-cash payment are gross. Considering the price of a meal, it's basically a mandatory upcharge (like a hotel's scuzzy "Resort Fee") and all restaurants should just be honest and add swipe fees to their menu prices. (I see another poster...here has called them out for this.) Normally I give restaurants who charge these fees 1 or 2 pips. I'll give this one a break because - my impression - most of the folks whom I saw dining there seemed to be locals / regulars: they already know the deal, and either eat the fee or visit the ATM. So I'll give it 4 pips. The pasta was excellent - my strong guess is homemade - and the sauce cared for. I've been to Rome many times, and this is as authentic as I've had in the US outside of NY or Chicago. I felt the dish (Amatriciana) was a bit under-seasoned, and while that could be a mistake - or could be my taste - I think it was more that they were expecting a bit more seasoning in the batch of pork cheeks they ended up with.More

This is now my husband’s favorite restaurant. He’s a fanatic about Italian food and orders gnocchi at every opportunity. He likened his meal here to the outstanding ones he’d had in Florence, Italy and in Little Italy in New York City. I ordered the Chicken...Piccata and was just as pleased. Stefano, our waiter, was exceptional.More

Live in Sandy Springs but drove to Smyrna to try this neighborhood spot. Great food. Had the bruschetta and chicken piccata and then a little tiramisu for dessert. All good. Nice vibe. Friendly people. Definitely a popular spot. Wish they were located in Sandy Springs.

I like the food here. As an ex New Yorker, this is as close to a New York style southern Italian restaurant as you can find in the area. Having said that I will never eat here again. Without any notice or warning on the...menu or website, when I received the bill a surcharge of about 3.8% was added to the bill for "non cash payment." I have never seen or had this happen in any restaurant, and frankly it is outrageous. I do not want to have to bring $200 cash to pay for a restaurant bill. No thanks, never again, and to any reading this review, "buyer beware."More

I went to the first restaurant the night before and met the owner Antonio. Great guy and very attentive to the business. He recommended the duck ragu with paccheri. I went tonight to try their other restaurant and it did not disappoint. Antonio's wife was...sweet but I must say MIca the server was tremendous and very sweet. Excellent serviceMore

Penso che dobbiamo giudicare un ristorante come questo dagli American Standard e non necessariamente dagli standard italiani dagli Standard Americani piuttosto buoni.

Yes we do. We have spaghetti and penne. Also we have rice that's glueten free. We make risotto pescatore or risotto with mushrooms. Everything is cooked in clean water separate from the other pastas. Thank you!
