This handsome restaurant was a genteel introduction to St. Simons Island. With its white tablecloths, carpeted floor, and ceiling sound baffles allowing for conversation-level dining, the environment set the tone for a great meal. The menu is impressive, but we opted for a beet salad ($10) and two fish entrees ($30+each): the triple tail and a striped sea bass. These are prepared with an option of sauces, however, the carrot puree called to me and made a beautiful plating. The chef here is a keeper, and the wait staff all appear to be well-trained. Thank you, David, for serving us. At this price point, the Georgia Sea Grill may keep some customers away, but when you are ready for a great meal, they will be waiting for you. P.S. All the desserts are $7 for anyone who indulges.

We decided to try the Sea Grill for our anniversary and are glad that we did. We had a reservation for 6 pm but arrived at 5 pm to try happy hour at the bar. There was a good selection of small plates to order and they were all $5. We tried the crab-stuffed hushpuppies and the crab beignets. The crab beignets were great. My wife loved a peach martini that was offered on the drink menu. When we made the reservation, we had asked to sit in the piano room. Unfortunately, the piano music didn’t start until we were done with our meal at 8 pm. We were given one of the two booths in the room, it was great. Our server was Landon, and she excelled at keeping us happy with the restaurant. For starters, there was bread with honey butter. We were told that the honey and the produce were locally sourced. I tried the Low County Crab Soup. It was my first-time having crab soup, and it was delicious. For the main course, my wife had the Shrimp & Grits, and I had the Grouper special. The Shrimp & Grits had a roasted tomato base. It was different but good. The Grouper was cooked perfectly. We were full by dessert time but had to try the Georgia Pecan Pie. The pie ranked high on my list of great deserts. This meal was for our anniversary, and the employees of this restaurant made it feel special. I will be eating here again.

Emily was super friendly and called to confirm our Open Table reservation and invited us to happy hour.
Christie was appropriately attentive throughout the evening.
We arrived around 5:30 for drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
I enjoyed a half price cold beer and my wife had a Spa Day which is a grapefruit vodka cucumber drink. Superb!
We loved the fried pimento cheese - the best we ever had! The catfish taco was just fair. Almost tasteless. I wouldn't order it again.
The fish special was pan roasted Halibut on a bed of orzo pasta with squash and zucchini. Tres magnifique! Perfectly prepared and plated sizzling hot!
I highly recommend Georgia Sea Grill!

Great atmosphere. Nice full bar and music. Just have had bad luck with the food. Inconsistent and for the price it is unlikely I would return.
I had been handed a tab for over $250.00 and was told after being served an extremely salted filet that, “Sunday’s are not a good day to come because they had staffed the less experienced chefs.” That was not a pleasing comment to make to a disappointed customer.

From the warm welcome, to a comfortable table, craft cocktails, and above all, Landon, our server who knew the menu, the source of the fish (local, from the pier, from the gulf, etc) the meat, the veggies, we felt that we were guests at her table. We loved our meals, the presentation and delicious deserts. Highly reccomend the pecan pie and Landon.

Our Hostess immediately made us feel welcome while seating us. Our server, Gina continued the warm greeting. She was a very rare combination of personable, efficient, and non-intrusive. This was our first time here, only because our go to restaurant cancelled our reservation because of booking a private event. We immediately looked at Trip Advisor and selected the Georgia Sea Grill. The food was outstanding. The “small” plate of corn dusted oysters where the best I have ever tasted, and it was truly meal sized. My wife had the soup of the day, broccoli cheddar, and the fresh fish selection of grouper. She gave both five stars.I ordered an Absolute Martini, up, and it was the most generous drink I have seen in a long time. To things even better, there was a pianist playing classic ballads that I would describe as “Frank Sinatra” music. In fact, I stopped to compliment him on his choice of music. This is now our new go to restaurant in St. Simon Island.

I made reservations 1 week in advance on the occasion that my son and his fiancee were going to be in town. I requested a window booth and was assured they would try and comply with my request. I received a phone call from the restaurant the same day as my reservation to confirm I was still coming. I assured them I was and we proceeded to the restaurant that evening. Upon entering, I was advised by Emily that she already gave my preferred booth to other customers. She offered a table in the bar area or main dining room which were not comparable. Needless to say, we went to another local restaurant for dinner and I was quite surprised at the treatment we received from the Sea Grill! I guess someone more important showed up before we did. What a lack of service!

Dear Joe,
First and foremost, I am sorry for the error the other night and really don't have any excuses. It's very rare, but we flat out goofed with your table. It was not intentional I promise and Emily is very sorry as well. She tried her best to find another table for you and to buy some appetizers for y'all, but with our tables spaced out for Covid, there really is no wiggle room unfortunately with having only two window booths for the time being. Please extend my apologies to the rest of your party and hope you will give us another chance.
Sincerely,
Zack Gowen

Had dinner at Georgia Sea Grill for our wedding anniversary. As usual, the food was excellent. Great selections of fresh caught fish, shell fish and vegetables, all very well prepared and presented. Meat options available too. Service was excellent also and made for a perfect evening for us. Our waitperson Landon was attentive, fun and efficient and did a wonderful job helping us make selections and put together our meal. We appreciated being given the quieter table we had asked for. We will be back!

Great COVID separations between tables. Could not believe the array of options! Fish choices included red snapper, mahi mahi, tuna, salmon, croupier, sheepshead, and the redfish which we ate Cajun style and was absolutely spectacular. We went at happy hour and they had $3 house wines (that would have cost $12 anywhere else for a huge pour) and a fantastic martini with well gin for only $4.50. As if that wasn’t enough, they had 5 tapas for only $5 each. We had the tuna tapa and the hot dog. The tuna was definitely excellent, seared and rare on the inside with a lovely aioli. My daughter had a kids Mac and cheese that was amazing, creamy with nutmeg and pepper and nothing dumbed down or sub standard just cause it was for a kid. Truth is that the meal for 2 adults and a child came to around $130 and I’m sure it would have cost $200 anywhere else. Landon took care of us and did a great job making sure we were well taken care of without being overbearing. Really great and memorable meal. So pleased I insisted by calling to reserve even though open table said there was no availability. Great food and spectacular service at reasonable prices.

Staying at the new Hotel Simone we enjoyed a complimentary shuttle ride to the Georgia Sea Grill for our 7:30 p.m. reservation. Warmly greeted by the hostess we were offered a choice of seating in the main dining room or the more intimate piano bar side. We chose the later and were very pleased. The music was well modulated, varied and a nice backdrop to a wonderful meal. Our server was "Becca" and she was a fountain of helpful information to first timers at this restaurant. Our "Up" martinis were icy cold and a great start. I couldn't pass on the escargot appetizer which featured six of the little critters in lovely butter and puff pastry top. Delicious!! My bride had the "very rich" crab soup and a cup was plenty. Entrees followed...sea scallops for the lady and the evening steak special for me...bone-in 14 oz. delectable piece of meat. Dessert was a pipe dream after those entrees so Becca called our hotel and our driver arrived in a few minutes for our return trip. A wonderful restaurant and when on St. Simon's we will be back.

Had our best meal of the weeklong trip here. Luscher our waiter was exceptional- he had great recommendations for our meal, which was helpful because pretty much everything on the menu sounded good. We had one of the fresh catches of the day and the fish was prepared brilliantly. The small plates were actually pretty large but completely delicious. I think we could return every night for a week cycling through the small plates themselves. The mussels and smoked fish dip were delicious and uniquely prepared. The wine list was more impressive than some on the island and prices were very reasonable. St Simons Island has many great restaurants, but this is by far our favorite.

Great service and food for our party of 10, even during COVID 19. All staff wore masks. Our waiter, Landon, was extremely patient and knowledgeable and recommended the best dishes. Food was incredible — we got apps, soup, salad and entrees. Crab soup was 100%, also the ceasar and bacon poached salmon. Best food in town. Best staff!

Back for our sixth straight year to St. Simons Island. This time amid the corona virus pandemic. We called ahead for a reservation and to make sure that the Georgia Sea Grill was still open. We were fortunate that after trying "take-out only" for 14 days, they decided to go back to serving meals in house. They have practiced good social distancing by removing many tables to create more about a 10 foot distancing. Nice and quiet. We reviewed Georgia Sea Grill almost exactly one year ago after a fabulous meal with great service. We came back and were not disappointed.
We started out by sharing the Roasted Beets salad which was excellent. Very generous split service on separate plates. Goat Cheese, Cherries, Arugula, Spinach, Pecans, Roasted Shallot Vinaigrette. Next we both chose from the "Fresh Catch" selections. Wife had the striped sea bass and I had the salmon. The chef has three ways of preparing your choice: Cajun spice, pan roasted and bronzed. We both chose the pan roasted: Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Andouille Sausage, Spinach, Grape Tomatoes, Sweet Corn Cream. The chef also cooked our fish to perfection for our tastes: medium + with no translucent flesh.
Our server was the same nice lady from last year: Landon M. She was fantastic, just like we remembered. She obviously knows the menu perfectly, but also helped us through four different glasses of wine.
Definitely have dinner here-you won't be disappointed.

We can't say enough about the wonderful meal we had last night at the Georgia Sea Grill. As we walked in we were greeted by Emily the hostess who was the perfect person at the door, warm and friendly. Our waiter's name was Luscher and he took alot of time to explain everything on the menu and the specials. His suggestion of the crab soup was thumbs up. I would go back again just for a big bowl of that!! My husband had the fish special and I had the pork. Both entrees had a beautiful presentation and plentiful! Hubby couldn't wait for the pecan pie and it didn't disappoint.
We are here for the month. Have visited some very good restaurants but this was tops!

Being locals we decided to see if we coudl sneak in early on a friday night as this place is known to fill up quickly. We were able to walk in and get a table for two before the crowd rolled in and received incredible service from our server, Payton, the hostess and the Owner. Our drinks and order were delivered quickly and the staff continued to check on us as if we were their #1 customer. The crabs cakes and the shrimp and grits were very fresh and tasted great. We did not select a dessert due to being full from the entrees but plan on it during our next visit..AND THAT WILL BE SOON! Quickly moved to one of my top 3 favorite places on the Island.
