This is one of the best restaurants on Canton Street, and there are a lot of choices on Canton Street.
The food features well prepared local grown goodies. We were there on a Monday and Monday features a fixed price menu (see below for details)....My choice was the Oyster stew, fried chicken with collared greens, and chocolate pudding for dessert. Cup of Oyster stew for a starter was incredibly flavorful, fried chicken was outstanding, chocolate pudding was great dessert. Fried chicken was half chicken, the best imho crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and had more than enough to take home. One other had the oyster stew and hamburger, which he liked. One other had the four vegetable plate, which she enjoyed. Final person had salad with added shrimp, which was very nice. All four of us will return.
Great service, but a little slow on a surprisingly busy Monday night. Restaurant is converted house with a lot of charm. Indoor and outdoor dining options. Parking is a hassle around here.
Definitely worth a trip.
