Friday evening 7/24/2020. Service was very poor. Waitress forgot to bring bread, forgot to serve wine, forgot to return to table with cracked pepper, forgot to bring bowl for empty mussel shells, didn't refill water glasses, didn't remember who ordered what when serving entrees, removed...plates without first asking if diner was finished. At no time during the meal did the waitress return to the table to ask if the food was good or if we needed anything. Spoke to owner about the poor service who apologized but I will think twice before going there again. Plus, I'll share this bad experience with all my friends.More

We had a nice dinner, but it wasn’t the outstanding experience we usually have at La Scala. Entrees were excellent, but they were out of the wine we wanted and the replacement was a white at room temperature. This was disappointing for a place that...touts their wine list and usually serves it well. Dessert was a huge letdown as the chocolate tort seemed to be 60% nuts and 40% chocolate. After a comment to the server it was taken off the bill, but I would suggest avoiding this unless you want a nut tort. Service was terrific.More

I stopped in for dinner while on business and such a cute place! The food was delicious, staff very helpful, soothing music and great ambience. Finished dinner with a homemade cannoli that was to die for!

A local we spoke with thought it was great, and maybe the locals get the fresh food. We got very old fish, which was touted as fresh from N.C. Waitress tried to give good service, but she was waiting on a large group and had...little time for us. To try to have something good I ordered a dessert, which was on a dessert tray, not the menu. So I had no idea it was $8 until we got the bill. We had to climb very high stairs to get to dining room, but we were told we could drive around to back. Since we had a good parking place on street we stayed put and endured the stairs. Overall a huge disappointment.More

Having lived in the area for two years now, we had yet to experience this restaurant until last night. What a treat! As this was a celebratory dinner, we started with an adult beverage and quickly moved on to enjoy our soup, salad, and entrees....The cream of mushroom soup was very tasty, the Caprese salad was just the perfect portion and the entrees were delicious, both served with sauteed asparagus and rosemary roasted potatoes. We enjoyed the Pork porterhouse dry-aged 14 days, grilled and topped with a smoked peach & bacon jam and the Angus beef filet mignon served a rosemary-balsamic reduction. The sweet ending came in the form of a delightful slice of salted caramel cheesecake. We will return to this restaurant, most likely every week as we cannot wait to sample the other menu offerings!More

My wife and I arrived late to Rome GA late on a Monday night. Smaller towns usually roll up the side walks up about 9pm but we called La Scala and they were very accommodating. Even though you could tell things were winding down for...the night, we were greeted like family and shown to our table. The waitress was great and the food excellent. The ambience was a little dated but the service and meal made it a non factor for us. Great find in Rome, GA!More

It took us a while to find a suitable restaurant for dinner in this remote little town in Georgia. La scala is a good restaurant with great service and very good fish. We would definitely go there again.

Ordered food to go. Hotel was 3 minutes away so food stayed hot in the containers for the short drive. Food came out pretty quickly. Chose Red Snapper ($25) which came with risotto type rice but it was just cooked like plain rice, nothing else...in it but rice with a side of asparagus. Portion size was fine. Came with a butter caper sauce which was ok. The dish didn’t have a lot of flavor. I paid $6 for a side salad which was tiny and tasted very strong of onions even though it didn’t seem to have much onion in it. It did have yellow and red grape tomatoes and a tiny amount of goat cheese. Best part of the meal was probably the garlic bread which came free and with a side of olive oil and had chopped up olives in it. After tax before tip the bill was $33.17. I tipped $6 so the whole thing was $39.17. It was just ok, and I probably would have enjoyed Captain Ds grilled fish dinner as much for 1/4-1/3 the cost. The server Brandy was nice and pleasant.More

While visiting Rome, Ga we wandered down Broad street and had this amazing dinner. My wife had the Kobe steak covered with local mushrooms and was cooked perfectly. I started with the most delicious cream of mushroom soup. Cleaned the bowl. A wow. Than grilled...trout with cous cous and broccalini and loved itMore

I asked for vegan options and they gave me pasta that I later found out was NOT VEGAN. They did not respect me being vegan and treated it like a big inconvenience.

I would call and talk to them first hand. It would be a great place for a rehearsal dinner. Certainly large enough and the food was very good.
