Great place with cool vibe. Expect a wait but chill at the bar. We had a drink then our table was ready. Bartenders were great. Piña colada and margaritas were great. Atmosphere was awesome. Once we were at our table waiter was great. Food was...excellent!! We were watching fishing charters come in and people getting off boats with fresh caught fish. The restaurant is in a marina and we were watching people filet their fresh caught fish on the dock. Our dinners tasted that fresh. I had Ahi Tuna tacos. Holy yum! I love Ahi Tuna and this tasted like it just came out of the water. My husband had fish tacos and his was spot on too. Someone else commented about the ranch dressing and they were correct. I’m 100% a ranch dressing snob. I could have drank the dressing! Delicious! We had the hushpuppies appetizer with honey butter. Melt in your mouth good. 😋 We watched the sunset with a glass of wine. Low key easy going spot with great food … what more could you ask for.More

This place is as authentic southern/coastal as it gets. Good food, good people, great views of the water. Even if you have to wait you won't mind; there are plenty of benches on the water. I usually get seafood at a seafood restaurant, but this...place has the best hamburger in the Savannah, GA area. To all you Ranch Dressing lovers out there... you will NOT be disappointed. They make their own ranch with plenty of dill, lots of flavor, and it just hits the spot.More

Took our family that was in town here for dinner. What a pleasant surprise. The 1st spot in our area that was actually like. Service was good and the food was better. Views of the water added to the atmosphere. No one complained about a...thing. We will definitely come back and recommend this placeMore

We arrived at 5:45 PM for dinner with our three children. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes, which we expected, we got seated at 7:00 PM, thinking we were about to have a meal. After ordering, we were told by our server that...it might be another hour before we received our food because the kitchen was backed up. Once we had been there for an hour and a half, we checked in on the status of our meal. At that point, we were told that there were at least four more tables ahead of us and that a large table had threatened to leave. Therefore, that table was being moved ahead of us for order priority. When I tried to get more definition about exactly how long it would take to get our food, there was no information forthcoming. Unfortunately, the manager was not equipped to handle all of the problems of the night coming out of the kitchen. We ultimately cancelled (after settling up our drinks/hush puppy order with a tip) and came home to cook dinner at 9 o’clock at night. I was offered a gift certificate for a return trip to the restaurant, but I declined. I do not plan to be back. It was a terrible experience. I do not recommend that you waste your time at this location. Beautiful view. That’s about all I can say.More

The food was great, as was the service. We sat outside, and you have such a beautiful view. We had onion strings as an appetizer, and they were really tasty. All in all, this was a wonderful place and I’d definitely recommend it to others!

The atmosphere of looking out at the marina is a pleasant way to eat seafood. The low country boil was good and included very large snd delicious shrimp. The fried shrimp were OK, but not exceptional. The fries were like battered fries which gave one...little potato. The coleslaw was not to our liking, yet others may like it. Prices were OK.More

We went on Memorial Day and the place was hopping. It was fun seeing all the boats docked in the marina. We sat inside, since there were no tables available outside, but we still had a good view. Our server was very attentive and the...food came out of the kitchen very quickly. The only thing that would keep me from going back has nothing to do with the restaurant. The Ogeechee River is brown and unappealing to look at.More

We are staying at Fort McAlistair StatePark and Fish Tales is on the way in. It’s a local place and looked fun. It was good food and good service by Ansleigh our waitress. I had peel and eat shrimp and chocolate cake and my husband...had the crab cake sandwich and cheese cake. It was very good.More

Fish Tales is such a fun spot! We RV and make it a point to stop at Fort McAllister State Park in order to hit this place! Last night we had the “to die for” She-Crab soup, the low country boil and hush puppies. We...always buy an extra order of hush puppies for the freezer as we have found none better on our many adventures! I love this place and highly recommend it.More

The title says it all. We come to this place every few months since they have tasty fresh local shrimp, but their prices are high, beer selection is mediocre and service is slow.

The view is very nice along the river. The food is very good with lots of flavor, but the portions are VERY small. We were surprised when the entrees came as to how small they were. I had the shrimp 'n grits and my wife...had Mrs Weeds Seafood Au gratin. The Shrimp was one small layer in the wide soup/serving dish. The au gratin was in a cast iron oval mini server and my wife could easily push all the contents to one side. We asked the waitress if these were the normal portions and she said yes. Only our second night out since the virus and we were disappointed.More

My family and I went there on a Thursdau night. The restaurant socially distanced inside, like other restaurants, with every other table available. There were many servers moving around. The area we were seated in had about 4 tables in use when we arrived. We...waited about 30 minutes before anyone decided to take our drink order. That was only because a server who apparently doesn't cover our area was asked to serve us. In some restaurants, any server would see someone sitting there and ask if anyone has served them yet. That wasn't the case at Fish Tales. I actually had to ask the hostess in that area, that was maybe 7 or 8 feet directly in front of us and watching us constantly as we sat drinkless for 30 minutes, if anyone was going to take our order. I'm not sure when/if we would have been taken care of had I.not done that. Staff moved around like they had a lot going on amd none seemed happy (there was no good vibe about the place). Again, there were enough servers in our area to easily cover the few occupied tables including ours'. I DO NOT feel that the virus pandemic had anything to do with service at this restaurant as there were plenty of servers versus the tables filled. The food took quite some to finally arrive. Maybe that was the norm. Maybe that was just because the seemingly popular outisde was populated a good bit. I don't know. In regards to the food itself, the price was expected to be a little high and, as with most restaurants like that, you don't get a whole lot for your money. I ordered a 3 taco meal that costs $12. The tacos were small, but tasted okay. They contained a flour tortilla, slaw and 3 shrimp. You can also order with chicken instead of shrimp. It was a very simple set of tacos for $12. Again, they were still okay despite the simplicity. I also had a draft IPA to drink. I expected a 12 ounce glass of beer. What I got was a short, maybe 10 oz, plastic cup's worth. I also should have asked the price of that drink (I actually order 2). I assumed it would be around $4 or $4.50 like other restaurants. Not only were they smaller than I expected, just 2 of those ended up costing me over $12. My wife ordered a 12 oz bottled beer. Her beer cost what I'd expect it to. I should have went with the bottle. That was completely my fault as no price was listed for beer there and I didn't ask before I ordered. In conclusion, due to the lack of attentiveness, lackluster food compared to price and the ridiculous cost of a draft beer, that was the first and last time we will visit Fish Tales restaurant in Richmond Hill, GA. Hopefully, the service issue was just due to a bad night and others will have a better experience.More

I think they changed cooks. I used to ride there all the time on the bike. Last 2 times I got fried pickles & calamari. They cooked them together so my calamari tasted like fried pickles. They beer selection is very poor. mostly IPA but...no Yuengling on draft. Puls other good beer.More
