We have lived in the area for > 2 years now. We primarily dine out every night and of course we have our go to restaurants. Sometimes we get rambunctious and venture out to expand our experiences in other local restaurants. Within a few months...of moving to Georgia we tried Marker 107 and was disappointed with the quality of food versus cost of the selections. Time went by , COVID hit and reset all aspects of life. And we decided to give 107 another opportunity.
Background, I grew up in coastal Florida and my wife was raised in Northern Coastal United State. So I am use to southern style seafood and she is used to northern style. We have dined on seafood from SW FL to NE FL, Key West Outer Banks of NC, Virginia Beach, San Francisco and Boston. So a lot of cholesterol has gone our way.
Back to review.
We arrived 10 minutes prior to reservation and was seated immediately. We were supplied 2 glasses of water and was told waitress would back in few mins which she returned in reasonable amount time (10 mins). Ordered non-alcohol drinks, starter and meal.
Food: There were a couple of items marked mrkt price, one of which my wife was interested in choosing. Waitress wasn't sure of price but gave a educated guess. Wife decided to go with it. We waited 15-20 minutes for the starter which was a seafood cheese concoction that was mediocre but bread was great. We waited another 30 minutes for the meal. My meal was fried flounder with some skin on and fries. My wife's meal was the fried fish sandwich with house made coleslaw. My fries were very chewy but warm. The fish, I ate a few pieces with skin on. Because the skin was not crisp it made the fish chewy so I pulled the skin off. The batter was okay but when you got to the edge of the piece of fish it was hard and chewy. My wife tried her coleslaw then immediately went for the napkin to deposit her mouthful of coleslaw. Her bun was tough to chew through. I asked the Waitress for a replacement side for coleslaw. The remaining choices were less then desirable fries I had, Jasmine rice or sweet potato fries for an up charge. She choose the rice and it was a better side then the coleslaw for her palate.
Service:
We were seated immediately, reasonable time for drinks. Had to ask for 3 refills of empty glass. No enquiries about meal or why we were sending the slaw back. To go drink was very small, like 6 oz size. Waitress was pleasant during interactions.
We usually don't complain but we won't return either. Tip is an automatic 20% but will go down if wait staff is not checking on table and or we are having to flag you down because dining issues. Waitress was inaccurate with mrkt price and it was not cheaper. No updates on eta of food. Honestly if it wasn't for our cell phones and being able to read Google News we probably asked for check and left before entrees. Let's face it after 27 years of marriage the are not that many discussions we haven't had. It was night dining so no view of water we would on our first dining experience.
Entire dining experience ,arrival to departure, was 90 minsMore
