Good ole home cooking

I eat here 4 days out of the week, once I found out about this place it turned me away from fast food for sure. There's nothing like getting constant fresh vegetables and great meats for a very reasonable price.

Cafeteria style service. 4 to 5 meats and several different vegetables. I had fried fish, cream corn and lima beans. My wife had meatloaf, cream corn and lima beans. Food was very well seasoned. They have a large variety of pies and all looked very good. I had southern chess pie and my wife had the peanut butter chocolate pie.... More

What a place. Have eaten here before and it was good but his time it was off the charts great. Classic Southern food as it was meant to be served. Enjoyed country fried steak, mashed potatoes, turnip greens and fried okra! Wow! Then split pecan pie. Only mistakes was sliding pie. Should have gotten 2 slices. 😎

Excellent home country cooking that I grew up with. It is always packed when I attend. You know it is good when all the local folks gather there.

Awesome home cooking with awesome coconut cream pie. Southern hospitality at its best. Only bad thing is that they are not open on the weekends.

We had gone to Yoder’s in Montezuma, only to find it closed. We have eaten at many meals @ Amish restaurants in Middlefield, Ohio & wanted some more of the same. We stopped at a store & they recommended “The Oil Lamp” in Perry. We went in & stood for a bit, looking like “deer in the headlights”. A woman... More

We eat here at least 3 or 4 times a month. For good, wholesome down-home cooking you'll be hard pressed to find a better restaurant. And that's not just in Perry, anywhere else in Houston county! Food is excellent and you get good-sized portions. Try to eat here Thursday or Friday evenings when they have their Ribeye dinner - wonderful!!!

I truly enjoyed some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. We both really loved the carrot souffle but the pecan pie was simply incredible. This will be a regular stop for us whenever we're passing through Perry.
