I live nearby. I've been in The Sticky Cactus a few times. The food is average, to slightly above average. It's a convenient place for me, since I live about four miles away, but I won't go back. The staff at their bar, clearly don't...want you there, if you don't have "a southern accent". It seems funny to myself who's lived in McDonough, for over thirty years, that they staff their establishment with people who are bigoted. I'm a white 62 year old male, originally from the mid west. I'm friendly and have never had a problem with people in a business where I spend my money. I've been in there six times, thinking the thought that the bartender is "just having a bad day". No... I've noticed that they have a regular crowd of "locals", that they're on a first name basis with. I guess NO ONE else has green money ? You have to figure on the owner, since it's his place of business. From now on I'll make the drive across the interstate to a different restaurant. I don't think they need the patronage, if you're not southern.More

Super horrible food and service. Took my daughter here for her bday party. Ordered shrimp tacos and I got 3 shrimp and about 5 small pieces of cilantro and they tried to charge me 14 dollars. Told my waitress I wasn't paying for it and...she never returned to table at all. Had to ask a different waitress for my check. Do yourself a favor and pretend everyone here has covid 19. Avoid it like the plagueMore

Website clearly states 3.00 margherita specials on sundays. The real price was 6.99. Manager/bartender came out from behind bar and said website was old and owner wont let her honor it. Pay the money and fix your website. Very misleading!

Had a mini date with the wife and checked them out. We have been trying to find someplace different to check out and found this place. We got there at about 11:15 and were seated promptly. First things first, VERY friendly! Our server was Jack,...and again, VERY friendly! I ordered chile relleno, sticky grits (mexican grits? Cheddar, peppers and mexican spices? It was goooood), steak tostada, and rice. The steak was seasoned really well. And that's the thing, I didnt expect the steak to be seasoned until I tasted it. I crunched into the lettuce and knew it was fresh. My wife had a beef taco, beef tostada, with rice and beans as sides. She loved all of it but prefers the beef on the tostada rather than the taco. And again, she agrees with me that the food tasted fresh. I would definitely visit here again. One caveat, I went to touch the stand alone dessert menu, the one that normally sits at the end of the table against the wall, it was in need of a good wipe down with a warm rag. It felt sticky and disgusting. But again, I would visit again.More

The Sticky Cactus is located just outside McDonough Georgia on Highway 81. It serves your typical Americanized Mexican food with typical generic beer and chips. There are approximately 8 other Mexican restaurants around the McDonough area. Most of them are the same. If you want...a quick bite, do it but, I wouldn’t make a special trip to eat there.More

We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant. We were seated quickly on a busy Friday night. Our waitress was very helpful, answering questions about the drinks and food. Our drinks and the food were very delicious (margarita, sangria, and fajitas). We had...a great time and loved our dinner.More

We past by the restaurant when we were going there to eat a meal with family and friends. Missed the sign on the building but it was worth doubling back. Food is great and worth the trip. Service was great also.

The food was good and they are offering a few Indian dishes as well. The grits they serve as a side a good, cheesy with salsa in them. The house salsa is quite good, not too spicy but not bland either. The chips were fresh...and crisp. The cheese dip my son ordered had been sitting long enough for a akin to form on top. There were not many people since we were there at lunch, but service was slower than usual and it was hard to get our server's attention.More

This Mexican restaurant is one of a kind! My wife Molly and I had a wonderful meal. We had guacamole, chicken nachos and sticky grits with cheese. As Europeans, we truly enjoyed everything, especially the sticky grits (polenta or mamaliga in Europe). We also had...two large glasses of beer. We'll definaly pay another visit next time in Atlanta.More

I really love the taco salad. The service at lunch is fast and efficient. I am a seltzer water fan, and they keep it on tap. The salsa is really good. They do seem to put a ton of onions in everything, so if you...are not a fan, then just ask them to go light on the onions.More

My family and I love Mexican food, so when we saw this place, we decided to give it a try. it was a Tuesday night with only about five tables of customers, so I'm thinking great we can get in and out pretty fast. Nope,...wishful thinking, it took our food about 45 minutes to come out, which is pretty long when you have a two year old. I must say though once the food did come out it was pretty good, especially the Mexican cheese grits. It also helped that our server was nice. overall it was a decent experience. I will go back, just next time I will be prepared with some crackers or something for the two year old!More

The food is ok. Service was good. The margaritas are ok. I probably won't go back. Over priced food and bad quality as well. I'll drive the extra few miles to the other mexican restaurant.

Brought my granddaughters after school because they love anything with lots of cheese. Servers were great with a 4 &6 year old. Cheese dip appetizer looked to be about 2 ounces and some of the tortilla chips were burnt. The shrimp fajitas were 2/3 burnt...with the onions and peppers being mostly black. This wasn't a case of just slightly overdone.More
