This is a great addition to McCaysville and is overall awesome. i think the prices might be a bit high but the quality of ingredients are certainly above average. The people who work here are warm and friendly and if you're a local get to know you ( I've visited many times over the past several months) I would give this place a 5 but they do not have regular table service so you may wait in line to order and if dining in they bring it to you but if carrying out you have to wait sometimes for 10-12 people to order just to pick up and pay so your pizza is certainly cold when you get home. I'm hoping management will work out this one flaw soon.

I liked the pizza on our last trip to our cabin in north Georgia. It is nice to have alternatives in McCaysville. Wood fired brick oven pizza is what makes this place unique to the area. The pizza was tasty and as others have mentioned, it is mainly a serve yourself to silverware and napkins from a table located in the restaurant. The only time you interact with an employee is when you place your order at the counter and they drop your pizza off to you at the table. I am sure this keeps cost down on employee overhead. What stops this place from 5 stars is the fact there is no pizza spatula provided when your pizza arrives. It is quite a messy proposition to lift the pizza off the raised holder with your hands while the pizza is hot. Just a suggestion and I think would provide the one thing that keeps this place from being a 5 star restaurant.

Waited over an hour for the pizza to appear (at 5pm) when the inside seating area was completely empty. The pizza was very good, but not worth the wait. Sitting riverside would have been lovely if we weren't so hungry. After the pizza finally arrived, we were told the plates were inside with silverware by the drink fountain. Which I could have gotten anytime over the last hour had I known they didn't come with the pizza. But, nope, not a plate in sight, no silverware next to the salad bar. Overall, pretty disappointing given the prior reviews. Wouldn't do it again.

I can sum this place up in (3) words 1. Terrible 2. Expensive 3. Terrible Order at the counter and pick up your plate, flatware, and napkins at a self-serve table and then seat yourself and wait for your over priced and under whelming pizza. (2) soft drinks and (2) pizzas 14" is all they offer = $40 My wife's was the Bigfoot Supreme (tasteless) and she ate (1) slice and mine was the Twisted Buffalo Chicken and I'm afraid I can't even describe the taste but it definitley wasn't Buffalo (spicy) and the chicken could have been SPAM for all I know. We will not be back and I doubt that the Twisted Tomato will be there much longer anyway. Don't waste your money.

Our group ordered three BBQ Chicken Pizza's and three build your own and EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS. The outside seating with river views is a nice touch. We had a to wait a bit to order but the pizza came quickly and we all left happy and full!

Very good wood fired pizza with a pleasant view of the river from their covered deck. The pizza crust is excellent! You order inside and they bring the food to your table. Service is quick. They have wine and beer but don't seem to have draft beer. Warning: their mozzarella "bread sticks" is essentially a full size pizza loaded with cheese and dipping sauce on the side. Enough to fill up two people!

Friend and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered pizza and side of garlic bread . Everything was great. Didn't enjoy the aluminum plates though. I don't like to cut on aluminum and eat. Staff was friendly but one young girl with long curly hair was preparing food and her hair was not tied back at all. Will definitely eat there again soon. Food was great. Atmosphere was very very nice, casual.

There weren’t many people there, but service was still slow. (But that’s true everywhere that doesn’t want to pay workers appropriately for this economy.) It took around 30 minutes for our herb breadsticks to come, and they were burnt. Not overdone, burnt. They were charred on the bottom. At least the ducks appreciated them. The pizza was all right. Decent New York style pizza, but not as good as a thin crust from a chain like Marcos. Definitely not good enough to justify the cost. The views from the riverside outdoor dining area were awesome and the best thing about this place. However, there’s no sign or divider marking the end of this place’s seating and the beginning of the neighboring restaurants’. We thought it was an open patio so we just picked an open table by the water, but the folks at Burra Burra ran us off because we’d accidentally chosen one of their tables. They need some sort of sign or visual distinction of the seating divide. Right now it’s just confusing. In all, not terrible, but nothing to write home about either. There are probably better places to eat in McCaysville.

The wood fired pizza is delicious and the location on the river is very cool. We had the veggie and the pepperoni, both so tasty. A nice surprise! We were expecting a normal pizza point but these pies were loaded with cheese and toppings and blew us away.

We stopped by for the third time to have lunch and take in the scenery. The place has recently expanded its seating, is in the process of adding a salad bar, and expanding the menu to include other items besides pizza. We had a pie half with pepperoni/ green bell peppers and plain cheese. It was very tasty and we definitely will be back a fourth time.

We had lunch at twisted tomato this afternoon. There were four of us adults and one child. We ordered pizzas for the five of us and we ended up taking home about half of what was left. One of the pizzas was the meat lovers and requesting half of it to be just pepperoni because of the child with us. It was no problem at all and they graciously fixed it that way. Our second pizza was the Bigfoot supreme, they both were excellent and they would fired method they use was great. We ordered the bucket of beer for us for adults which included five beers at a good price.. I was wearing my Vietnam veterans cap and they gave me a military discount, I never ask for a discount but I thought it was mighty nice of them to notice and give me the discount. I left them a larger than normal tip just to show my appreciation. All the employees were so nice and made sure that we were taken care of. I would highly recommend twisted tomato to all.

Our family had lunch at the Twisted Tomato during our vacation and loved sitting outside overlooking the water eating some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. The margarita pizza in particular was awesome. Super nice staff and owners too. And the kiddos loved getting ice cream for dessert at the attached ice cream store. Two thumbs up.

The staff here is super friendly and welcoming. Wish I could say the pizza is as awesome as the people. It's just ok. We got a bigfoot special which has pepperoni, italian sausage, bacon, onion, red and green peppers and traditional marinara sauce. For being wood fired, our pizza was not crispy at all. Would recommend that you order it well done. Top of the pizza was golden brown and looked perfect but the bottom was floppy to say the least.
