All the reviews I read about this place were very true. Steffens is a local diner with a big local following and lots of takeout orders, too. The food was fresh and tasty. I had the grilled flounder and decided to listen to the reviews...and order the collard greens and fried green tomatoes as my sides. I was not disappointed! My husband had the patty melt and noticed right away that that was no pre-made frozen patty. He had the Mac and cheese also. Everything was very good. I would recommend getting the corn bread instead of biscuits. The biscuits seemed a bit too hard and doughy for my taste. When we walked out I noticed all the tomato plants growing up the front of the building. Talk about fresh green tomatoes!More

This little restaurant is a hidden gem. We spent the night in town and wanted a good breakfast. After searching Yelp reviews, we settled upon Steffen's. What an outstanding choice. We decided upon the biscuits & sausage gravy, fried chicken & gravy, and hashbrowns. The...food portions were large and the price very low. The gravy was good, nothing special, but definitely better than what was being served at the hotel. The biscuits were outstanding and homefries cooked perfectly. Everything arrived hot and tasted very good. Our server was fantastic. She was friendly and kept our coffee cups filled. Steffen's is a great choice for breakfast.More

Steffens had been recommended by friends so since we were in the area decided to give it a try…Don’t judge a book by the cover.. arrived between breakfast & lunch.. Busy, popular place.. Debbie was our server..Liver & onions were enjoyed & enough left over...for dinner..Different take on fried green tomatoes, ample portion & very good.. Cornbread & hush puppies were tasty.. Plan a return visit soon..More

Very small dining area that quickly filled up with a mixture of local and out of town patrons all wanting the same thing: good food at a reasonable price. The sides were a wonderful mixture of country vegetables including okra and collard greens that my...wife went on and on about. While her catfish filets were on the small side, she was full when we left in part due to the generous portions of the sides. I had the 1/2 lb. classic hamburger which was filling and tasty. The service was good and the food hot when brought to the table. I am glad we made a side trip off the interstate to this restaurant and will visit again when our travels take us on Interstate 95.More

What a pleasant surprise! The collards were sweet, just like my Grandma used to make. The flounder filet was great! The chicken and dumplings were exceptional. Gator bites and fried okra were fantastic. You can't go wrong at Steffens. I am absolutely stopping here every...trip down I-95. A crown jewel. Authentic southern food is really hard to find and Steffans is the real deal. I will return!More

While driving back to Florida, it was time to stop for lunch and we didn't want a chain restaurant. We drove a little off the interstate but worth the drive. We can upon Steffen's and it was exactly what we were looking for. It had...a nice local diner feel, with lots of home cooking choices. I had the shrimp dinner with onion rings and cole salt and it was great. My husband has the country fried steak with collard greens and loved it. I like that they give you corn bread and biscuits. So good and I even had leftovers. We got a delicious piece of coconut cake to go. If traveling, take the time to stop here! Staff so friendly too!More

Saw the reviews on this place and me and my brother decided to have breakfast there. We wanted the traditional biscuits and gravy with sausage. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. The food came out within 5 minutes. My coffee never...got to the half point due to the lady always feeling it up. The service was top-notch and the food was good. Glad I came hereMore

I hesitate writing this review, I want it to stay non tourist. Its is so Local Southern Middle America. Unpolluted by todays society and its expectations. Its like going back to the day where a business really made sure the quality of goods and services...were as good as an owner was doing everything there-self. Prices are like a diner and food is like moms kitchen.More

We had a great dinner here on Saturday night. I had the best onion rings I’ve ever had in my life they were loaded with pepper in the batter and they were yummy. The Bourbon Chicken was great and a huge portion. The cornbread is...huge and light. The fried green tomatoes and collards were good. Great waitress, she was so kind. Thanks for working!More
