As an older couple with compromised immune sytems we are still avoiding eating inside restaurants. We were looking forward to eating at Hofers because they had outdoor dining. We were not allowed to eat outside because we did not have a dog. Unbelievable!

ordered an assortment of items that all looked delicious and perfect. Funny thing. It all tastes like something we would get in a package at Costco or our local grocery store

I get the fact this is October in Helen but for all seriousness the lines inside were crazy , get more staff , people one on top of one another in a CRAMPED store . There were people waiting to be seated with TABLES EMPTY...and there was a one hour wait ? Really , I have been in the "business" for YEARS and never ever would I put my customers thru this . We went across the street to Two Tire and they had PLENTY OF STAFF to help people aka customers ! I really hate to be so critical but really ? And not for nothing , 16 bucks plus change for croissants and you have the audacity to put a tip jar out ? No Wonder it was EMPTY !!!More

We spent a fair amount of time researching places to eat and this was a top choice. We went for breakfast. My wife ordered French toast and I ordered eggs, grits and sausage. The food came out extremely fast...in about 5 minutes. This made me...a little suspect as it is difficult to prepare food that quickly. The food was ok, but it tasted as if it had been prepared previously and just plated and warmed before serving. You can kind of tell about eggs. They were done, but seemed as if they might have been siting for some time. This was a disappointment for us. We had intended to go back and get some homemade bread, but shose not to after this marginal experience.More

Excellent food with a varied menu. All baked goods at breakfast made at their bakery. Best breakfast we have had this vacation. Great staff - so friendly and competent! We highly recommend!!

Breakfast service was overcrowded and indoors, and sadly they weren't seating on the patio or offering meals for to-go orders. We ended up ordering pastries to go for a continental breakfast and all of it was delicious.

I was so looking forward to some delicious German food, my favorite is the Jager schnitzel which is what I ordered . My husband ordered the bratwursts and knockwurst in comparison to Fredricksburg Tx friedheim and Colorado Springs eldlewise this was not good. Very disappointed....The waitress was very nice and I give her and excellent rating the food not so much.More

The food was delicious. The rest of our experience was marginal at best. Greeted by no one, a front door sign asked for patience with staff due to the Covid work shortage. Persistently, we found the dining room and waited for a host/ess who advised...our wait could be more than an hour and we could do that on the uncooked front patio where there was no service. We pointed out we were there for breakfast and were given a breakfast menu. We could buy a drink at the bakery counter. Every counter we approached was the wrong one. We ordered a drink and two glasses of water with ice. We were rung up and instructed to get our $1.75 each bottles of water from a cooler. When I asked for glasses with ice, they were unavailable for the patio. (Could we have been told that when we ordered?) We made our way outside where the temps were in the 80s with humidity in the 80s. All the tables needed wiping. We settled in, perused the menu, and allowed our tastebuds to settle in on a delicious German pastry breakfast! Yum! We were called and seated - with lunch menues. We came for breakfast, we explained to our server, showing the breakfast menu we’d been given. No breakfast. Lunch only. The solution, “There’s always tomorrow!” 🙄 Really? We discussed leaving, but had already waited and were quite hungry and tired of the heat. Lunch selections chosen, they nourished us and were good but fell short of what our tastebuds had come to crave from the breakfast menu. Post meal visits to the restrooms where walls could use a good wash and a scurrying crawlie was spotted. We understand Helen is a tourist-town and hit hard with Covid labor shortages, but we felt continually misled by this establishment.More

The food was okay but not great. Service was lacking attention. Never came back or brought the cappuccino I ordered. However, the bakery was the best.

I was there for breakfast, so I don't know. But most of the German places that serve dinner do serve beer and other alcoholic beverages. I bet you can find their menu online if you Google it.
