This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I love the oxtails as well as the fish stew. Nothing has been disappointing here, and I will continue to patronize this place.

Authentic is the right word for sure. I read the reviews before we went so I was prepared for slow service. Well that’s pretty authentic too!! They move slower in the Caribbean. Things are not as rushed there. I took off one dot for the...food not being served simultaneously and because they ran out of Jerk chicken (dark meat). My husband would’ve ordered and liked a large order as it was delicious but there was just not enough chicken ready so he went with a small order . The food is out of this world. I went for the food and the food did not disappoint! The girls that waited on us were lovely! I did not mind that my food was brought out about five minutes before my husband’s. I was prepared for that. Anyone who travels a lot to the Caribbean knows the service at restaurants is not the same as it is here. That’s not to say it’s not good. These young girls aim to please and I was happy with their service. When I asked for more sauce for my rice she brought that immediately. Everything was done with a smile and a happy attitude! Ionies food is something that I look forward to enjoying again! This is a great restaurant! If you like Caribbean food you do not want to miss going to this place! Below are pictures of the jerk chicken and the curry chicken. I had a large order for $10 on my husband had a small order for eight dollars. I believe a Coca-Cola was $1.More

Great food a little spicy for kids or people not used to heat but great authentic flavors. Their jerk mac n cheese is off the charts and this is coming from someone who doesn't like mac n cheese.

I’m a regular because the food is usually good, but the consistency has been off the last few times. One thing that remains consistent is they are in no hurry with getting your food to you. On this visit, I had my usual escovitch tilapia...that’s cooked to order and it was very good except I was missing plantains with my order. Had the jerk Mac n cheese that was good, but not temperature hot....more like warm. My friend had brown stew chicken that was very dry. It did not appear to be stewed at all, but rather gravy poured over fried chicken. She did not eat it at all and complained that it was dry and did not appear to be stewed. She was advised that white meat is dry, but that it was stewed. No remedy was offered.More

We've been here about four times and the food is good but the customer service is horrible. There is one particular lady that shouldn't hVe any contact with customers. You can tell she hates her job. She is so rude that she would rather say...can I help the next person in line than to great you. We were the only people in line so how does that apply. She then turned around and said we couldn't sample the food when we've always sampled new fishers before we buy it. The manager or owner allowed us to sample it but she doesn't want to deal with issues. Lastly, the food wasn't even good this time. What a waste of money and time!More

I ate here for lunch one day. The jerk pork was excellent. I like the was it was sliced and the plate was prepared. I had beans and rice and vegetables with it. The pork had the right amount of flavor that just explodes in...your mouth.More

They only get 1 star because I can't do a half. The ONLY positive I can say about this place was that the food was absolutely and truly authentic and good! Everything else about our experience was horrendous. The service was awful (the server walked...away from my to go box for 10 min), it took too long to get two dinners, and the woman at the register actually yelled at me! If you see a party in the dining room, walk right back out because they can't handle doing both. The woman actually started my plate, then walked away because,as she later told me, her supervisor called her to go serve the dinning room birthday party. She says she told one of the other girls to finish our plates, but the other girl claims not to have heard. Either way, they are telling me the 100 reasons why other customers are being helped and our plates remain...WITH an attitude instead of just apologizing. Then I get to the register and the cashier yells at me because I was letting her know we had two drinks, which she missed! The service was rude, and I'd rather go across town for jamaican food that isn't as good, but at least they categorize about their customers!More

Chose this place for a lunch date with my wife. Polite, frindly staff and the food was truly authentic! As a former chef I enjoy food that has been prepared with love. Recipes are good guidelines but when you cook with love.....people can tell it!...I enjoyed the curry goat and my wife a delicious pork dish. Portions were large enough we took some home. The atmosphere is nice and the decor a true reflection of the Carribean. Recently relocated to Oconee County but we will return.More

Food was delicious, but too spicy for me. I prefer brown stew chicken on the mild side. The ordering process was awkward and unclear, and I waited a long time for my food.

Ionie's is the best Caribbean restaurant in Georgia. The food takes me back to the islands. If you're looking for real Caribbean style cooking head over to Ionie's.

This place is clean and the food is consistently good. I’ve not found any foreign objects in my food. Get the jerk Mac n cheese, the curry and brown stew, and the escovitch fish.
