Loved the atmosphere of rustic settings. The service was above and beyond nice. The food was delicious. We got Country fried steak with gravy (brown) and fried Green tomatoes (YUMMY) and collard greens (these I could have made a meal of by themselves).. All the servings were more than enough. A gentleman beside us got the Ribeye steak which looked... More

Made the trek today for a late lunch at Doug's Place. Very good as usual. Fried Chicken was great! Side items, all very good, silver queen corn, slaw, pinto beans, broccoli casserole, and fresh sliced tomatoes, all made the meal even better. Hard to beat if you love Southern Cooking!

The eggs, bacon, home fries, biscuit and gravy is down home southern cooking goodness... What a great way to start off any day, especially a Saturday!

magnificent chili dog! snaps when you bite into the messy thing swathed in a delicate home made chili that is neither too hot or too thin, kind of like momma used to make with a pack of chili o seasoning from mccormick. topped with fresh chopped Visalia onions and vinegary sweet pickle relish that is so cold it'll desensitize your... I found this place on Trip Advisor while my daughter was playing basketball at Lake Point Sporting Village. I am sooo glad I did! Ate here twice and was great both times. My favorite was probably the fried squash. The potatoes and gravy were on point. I had chicken strips that were good. Everything here was good. The staff was... More

Great southern food, value and selection. A few of my favorites are the turnip greens because they are fresh and the chow chow for my beans! The cornbread doesn't crumble into pieces and the real lemon for the tea is the perfect addition. My vegetable plate with 4 veggies and corn bread was less than 6.00 dollars. Don't pass through... Even though Trip Advisor lists Doug's Place as #1 of 1 restaurant in Emerson, there are a lot more fast food chains within 2 miles of Doug's that have been recently built and I guess could technically be in another small town adjacent to it. Regardless, Doug's Place would be #1 of 100 if there were that many! Such good... More

Food was really good. Atmosphere not so great. I would be kind of scared to know what their health rating is, but the food is really good. Good country cooking.

Now where do I start...... Country cooking that cannot be beat, great peach cobbler, and if you are lucky friendly girls in short skirts or short shorts, O h back to food. They have a very large menu, you will find something, from collards to meat loaf, cream corn to mashed taters, name it, they have it OH don't forget... More
