Even though Trip Advisor lists Doug's Place as #1 of 1 restaurant in Emerson, there are a lot more fast food chains within 2 miles of Doug's that have been recently built and I guess could technically be in another small town adjacent to it. Regardless, Doug's Place would be #1 of 100 if there were that many! Such good... More

Food was really good. Atmosphere not so great. I would be kind of scared to know what their health rating is, but the food is really good. Good country cooking.

Now where do I start...... Country cooking that cannot be beat, great peach cobbler, and if you are lucky friendly girls in short skirts or short shorts, O h back to food. They have a very large menu, you will find something, from collards to meat loaf, cream corn to mashed taters, name it, they have it OH don't forget... More

We never visit Emerson without a trip to Doug's Place. We've taken lots of friends there, too. It doesn't look like much (no ambiance) but the sweet tea is awesome and the meat and veggies are terrific - just like grandma's country cooking! Very affordable - just go!

Step back in time for the best southern cookin' around, you have got to try Doug's Place! My kids have been playing baseball several times a year at the LakePoint Sports Complex, ever since the very first tournament there 3 years ago. WE NEVER MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EAT AT DOUG'S when we are there. I was there two weeks... More

If you're near Emerson or Cartersville and looking for some country cooking then you can't do better than Doug's. Everything I have tried here has been very good although I haven't had dessert but that will change soon as I go back. Prices are great and the service is timely.

I heard several people mention Doug's Place at the hotel. So, on our second night, I headed to give it a whirl. It is very country and the lady working the cash register was so friendly and happy...she made you glad to be there. We ordered fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, fried tomatoes and peach cobbler for dessert. Every... More

The food was good, the prices great. We drive by this exit about 12 times a year and will stop there again. Had the fried chicken livers and could not eat them all. Locals know where to go and the place was full.

I always enjoy taking family / friends... to Doug's Place, Emerson Ga. Friendly ... Family Restaurant, in an old General Store bld. The food is simple and delicious, the price as best I can remember is around $ 6.50 plate. So If you want to go home to Moms, and can't, come to Doug's Place, I'll be there tonight with... More

I dropped in at Doug's Place today, because I don't get over that way very often. It was Sunday after 1:00 and people were lined up to get in. Place was packed. That should tell you something. They were serving your choice of breakfast or lunch, which is also a nice treat! Basic southern cooking, fried: pork chops, chicken, or... More
