This is a really neat place. Totally a neighborhood hang out for kids and families. You should try it. The setting is in a cramped strip shopping center from the 1960s. The parking lot will make you want to drink a few margaritas. Once inside, or on the patio, in my case, it becomes a fun place to have dinner.... More

What I like about their mexican food is their variety of tacos and the salsa bar. Love the choices on the bar to add to your meal. The staff is fine and the inside is clean, but nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered and paid at the counter. Nice neighborhood eatery....

A little slow initially upon seating. No mention of the salsa bar. Chips just came with two empty salsa dishes. One of us ordered the Burrito Mojado, skirt steak, black beans and roasted corn. Served with salsa and cueso. Good size portion and very tasty. The other had the Stuffed Avocado with Chicken Enchilada. Very unusual but very tasty. We... More

This is a casual, neighborhood Mexican restaurant, with a twist! Very good, fresh ingredients, tasty Mexican food. The margaritas were great. The fried avocados were awesome! My only complaint would be that they need larger bowls for the wonderful salsas - several varieties. Planning to return soon.

Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten and I have eaten Mexican all over the country. I do not know how they stay in business. There are 4 very good Mexican restaurants within a mile of here. I recommend Monterry, El Torero and the one in Toco Hills shopping center

I ate here with my parents over the weekend and it has really turned around. The first time I ate here, a few years ago very shortly after opening, it was very mediocre. Needless to say my parents had been back recently and were very pleasantly surprised. I got a quesadilla, which was above average for sure, but a fairly... More

Took my son there this evening. Great neighborhood location. Thought we would try someplace new. We entered and were seated immediately at a table that had dried food. A server brought us a basket of chips and two empty bowls along with our drinks. Chips tasted old and we wondered where the salsa was. No one came by for a... More

We enjoyed and early dinner here last night and it was delicious. This was our first visit, but will not be the last. My grandchildren had fish , and steak tacos while the adults enjoyed the wonderful burritos. I am sorry I can't remember the names. I think one was the Rob. It was with steak, rice, beans and cheese.... More

We have eaten at ElVecino several times now and it is consistently hands down the best tamales in town. The menu offers great choices for Vegetarians and Vegans as well as all the meat eaters out there. The mole sauce is divine when paired with the chicken tamale or plantain/sweet potato enchilada . If you haven't tried this casual~reasonably~priced~local~hang~out~place yet,... More

So I had a friend visiting from out of town and we wanted a close-by and quiet place to have a quick Sunday brunch. I got what I asked for but perhaps I should have asked for more. We chose a Mexican brunch wondering what that could be - and who would have expected bagels and grits with jazz music... More
