After a day of touring around Darien, we ended up at Waterfront, pulled up barstools and enjoyed a nice refreshing adult beverage - I had a draft and she had a wine, actually we each had two. Plus the cheese plate. Good conversation with others...at the small bar (cribbage players on one side) it was just the right scene before heading to dinner. This is not really a restaurant. The front is a store with great wine prices, unique cheese/meat and snack items. The back is a friendly atmosphere wine bar with a $10 flight of fruity wines. Locals gather at the end of the day, either inside at the bar or at the front street side seating. I have to be honest and say, I have never been to The Waterfront Wine and Gourmet. We have past it several times going to a restaurant we go to whenever we are in the area. I want to tell you, if you like wine...and enjoy sitting watching the world go by THIS IS THE PLACE TO DO IT! This place makes me want to start drinking wine. It looks comfortable and laid back. Dog friendly in the outside seating area. It reminds me of the little cafes in New Orleans and France. Beautiful setting under the shade of the trees. Wonderful place to enjoy this city. Outdoor seating was wonderful even being a June visit the weather was perfect. Bought a nice Rose that was crisp and smooth.

Awesome place! Wine, beer and atmosphere!! Make sure you ask Russ for a cheese tray! You can also enjoy a beautiful view of the Darien river.

We spent a pleasant evening at the wine bar in the back of the shop with an excellent red wine and tasty cheese plate. Friendly staff with great service!

I stopped here for lunch the food was really well cooked and the service was good. I had the shrimp salad blackened, very tasty on a bed of spinach and iceberg lettuces. I would definitely come back to this place.

Great place, very friendly with excellent selection of beer and wine. Overall a wonderful experience with strangers who made us feel like locals. Please don't visit, would hate to see the place get crowded or over run!! ;>))

Went for a visit and found out about this place from the b&b we stayed at. They have the best peach wine from horse creek winery!
