I have been to The Old School Diner a couple of times and each time Chef Jerome impressed me with the way he treated my kids. The first time my son wanted fish sticks, which aren't on the menu. Chef Jerome said he would take care of that for my son and sent out grouper fingers in it's place. Needless... More

I guess the parking area, entrance and interior would give plenty of material to a good comic. I think they consulted with Sanford and Son for the buildings exterior. But its the food that we're here to talk about. And I'd have to say it is excellent. We were two couples so we had plenty of different plates to sample... More

Was very disappointed. Ordered the grilled shrimp and when it arrived it was covered with some sauce that the waitress said she could tell us what was in it. The chef doesn't let anybody know. The portions were very small. The most disturbing thing was when we went to pay, the person at the counter said these are our old... More

My husband and I had been dying to try old school diner for over a year and decided on a Sunday to make the trip to Darien to try it. It's definitely in a desolate location and when your pulling up to the restaurant it can be a bit discouraging with the outside decor of toilet bowls as planters(building before... More

This is definitely the kind of place that a picture just CAN'T describe. Go for the food. Leave with your soul.

We have visited Chef for the past 8 years. Watched his business expand from that tiny kitchen. Thanks Chef for all the great times. Be back soon.

Upon driving up to the entrance my party wanted to immediately turn, no run away. The old saying of "Don't judge a book by it's cover" is all I have to say. Once seated the decor kept our interest and then Jerome, the principle owner and chef took center stage. Jerome's hospitality, infectious smile is pale in comparison to the... More

Looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but opens up to a funky, eclectic interior. Wonderful food with a Cajun flair. Chef Jerome goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. He starts you out with the best hush puppies I've ever had. The food takes a little longer to arrive since Chef Jerome is... More

Read about this unique restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided to try it, the reviews were very good. Well, first it is out of the way and hard to find. Second, it looks worse on the outside than it did in the pictures . Inside is better, but it smells funny. The waitress was very attentive although the meal took... More

Chef Jerome Brown, has 20 years in the seafood business. Our customers are our family members, we have over 10,000 photos on the walls of our restaurant! The Old School Diner, famous for the "Wheel Chair Platter!" - Come see why Ben Affleck says " Why ask, Trust your Chef" Carpeted parking lot? Yes we have that! A quick trip from Savannah and well worth the trip! A real Hidden Gem of the Southeast, that is a quote from Southern Living Magazine!
