We made a dinner reservation at the Back Porch for Valentine's Day based on reviews and our love of seafood. The evening started out with the hostess seating my wife and me at a round table in the upstairs corner by the bar. Despite there being empty tables out on the "porch" we were not given that option. We asked... More

This is a delight on the the square. The view is amazing from the front porch and the food is a pleaser. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area or for that special date night. Prices are not your normal fair but well worth the visit.

My husband and I enjoyed lunch here on a winter weekday. Service was prompt and courteous. I had the crab cake with spinach, and my husband had the fried oyster sandwich with grilled asparagus. My crab cake was generous and very flavorful. His oysters were fried to perfection. We will not hesitate to eat here again.

We sat upstairs on the porch overlooking the square. The place has a beach vibe which was nice, but strange to look outside and see snow on the ground. We had the ahi tuna for a starter, and we both loved it. We also both had the shrimp and grits. We both thought it was good, maybe not the best... More

I went to the Oyster Bar last week for my friend's birthday dinner and it was delicious. I got the filet mignon with potatoes and asparagus. The filet was amazing. One of the top 3 I've ever had. The asparagus was kind of overcooked and tasted charred. The steak and potatoes were both so good I didn't even care. I... More

Stopped at this quaint place while visiting Dahlonega. She crab soup was very good to start and the crab cake was pretty good but overpriced for the portion. Calamari was ok. Shrimp and Grits were good. Kids menu food was bleh. Bottom line - food is not bad but slightly overpriced and don't take the kids!

We stopped in after reading the reviews on trip advisor to be surprised by the best meal we had while traveling over the weekend in Georgia visiting the Amicalola Falls. I got the special seafood trio of Lobster trail (big portion), mahi mahi (big portion) and shrimp (6 shrimp). All were char grilled to perfection in a lemon butter sauce... More

Portions are small, prices are high, "specials" were the highest priced items which were recommended. Equal dishes in other comparable restaurants were much less expensive. If you are willing to have 3 small portions for an entree for $25 + (scallops Florentine served on light bed of spinach and side of 2 small red potatoes cubed (food did taste good))... More

Atmosphere felt like a beach restaurant. We sat upstairs on the porch enjoying the views of the square. Ordered two bottle beers. They came without glasses and lime / orange. Ordered Ahi Tuna and shrimp & grits. Tuna was good, I have had better. Shrimp & grits had 5 shrimp and lots of onions. Sauce was awesome. Lunch was good... More

Service was atrocious. Waited almost 45 minutes after we ordered with no acknowledgement by waiter on status of food. Prices high especially with the terrible service and being out of several of the menu items.
