I went there today with my wife for lunch. You pay before entering the dining room. It was a very pricey lunch. We paid and went downstairs to the dining room. We were the only ones there. We arrived at 12:15 and left at 12:50. Not a single other person came in the whole time we were there. Food is... More

I've heard about how great it is, my first impression was memorable. My friend and I sat at the opposite end of the table from where the waitress brought the food. The people closest to the waitress were rather large, the platters were empty before they got to us. We didn't get chicken, potatoes or okra. I complained to the... More

We LVOE some family style cooking and The Smith House is just that. Come hungry and leave full as a tick! Reminds me of Sunday dinners after church in days past.

We hadn't been to the Smith House in several years so we were excited to plan a trip to Dahlonega and eat there. We missed the main lunch crunch so there was no wait to be seated. As soon as you sit down and the waitress brings your tea, the food begins to arrive. Love their vegetables and fried chicken!... More

Lots of food. Quality is OK, nothing outstanding! Like eating in a church hall with long tables. No atmosphere! If you like all you can eat places, this is for you.

Great place to eat at. We have been here on more than 1 occasion. Family style dinning and home style cooking. Kind of pricey. If you are looking for cheap I suggest going somewhere else. If you leave hungry it's your own fault!

Our family of 6 visiting for the day were told we had to go to the Smith House. It is different that most places in our normal chain restaurant routine, but for the money the food was just so-so. Atmosphere akin to eating in the church dining hall.My kids and are people who rarely can finish their own meal so... More

The food is fantastic--all served family style! We chose to eat out in the Garden and it was a lovely fall day. First the bread basket with cornbread , sour dough rolls, and orange cinnamon roll. Then the fried chicken, ham, beef, Mac and cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes, greens, green beans, creamed corn, and dessert was strawberry shortcake! Tea... More

Best place I have ate in a while! Very confused on why some say it's very over priced. You go to long horns and get one meat, two sides and a drink. Not including the dessert. That is a 25 dollar meal. You come to Smithhouse and you get all you can eat, two meats, a lot of other southern... More

Famous for our all-you-can eat family style meals. Country vegetable and fried chicken is everyone's favorite. Stay in our historic inn and visit our historic town square of Dahlonega where the first Gold Rush was located. The Smith House is locked one block from the square.
