Lovely place to stay in the heart of town. Southern hospitality at its finest. You have to eat there also. Excellent price and accommodations.

We brought a friend to Dahlonega for the day to explore the shops and stopped in at the Smith House for a family style lunch. So much food and quite the variety of country cooking. The fried chicken is excellent. We really enjoyed the many...More

They bring out a CART full of food for you. We were asked if we liked white or dark meat chicken and brought out what we asked for. Thank goodness we could choose what we wanted off the cart. The selections were fantastic but we...More

First, the positives. The ladies who work at the Smith House are super friendly and hospitable. They really exude Georgia hospitality. Second, the restaurant brims with historical significance and has a cool gold mine shaft and great historical photos and paraphernalia. The fried chicken was...More

Thank you for your response! We no longer seat family style only on Mother's day and Thanksgiving. All of our tables are private seating. So glad you enjoyed your meal. However, the only canned product we use is the cheddar cheese for the macaroni &...More

Even if the flavor has worn off a lot of it. The fried chicken was a greasy mess of crust hiding dry not even warm chicken underneath. Veggies were straight from the can and missing any ham or seasoning. Steak n gravy was the best...More

We were a large party so we came early and had no wait. The service is great, the food is down-home Southern cooking. Their fried chicken is perfect. We loved all of the vegetables.

No, there is not a pool. I wouldn't call the Smith House a resort. It is part of the history of Dahlonega. Located right off the downtown square.
