Good home style dining, good overall. However, I tend to expect a lot from a place when people recommend it as great southern food. The two times that I ate lunch here it was not particularly great and it seemed overpriced. Not as compelling as the Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia.

Our family has been eating here for years & it used to be one our favorites. This past time (last Tues. at lunch time) it just wasn't the same & for the price ($16.04 each, which included tax but not tip) it just didn't measure up! The fried chicken, which is usually very good, was so greasy we had to blot... More

We went to celebrate my birthday. This is served family style and all you can eat. They start you with bread and cinnamon rolls, then the main course. The menu was roast, fried chicken, ham slices, Mac & Cheese, corn, green beans, collards, mashed potatoes, gravy, and fried okra. For dessert was strawberry short cake. So delicious and will return.

DELICIOUS is the perfect word here. Not fancy but certainly not a dive either. Wonderful history to go along with the food. Was more than we could eat..sort of. We didn't finish all the main dishes but had seconds on dessert. Friendly staff and well paired choices. Love it. It is like they bring the buffet to you!! It may... More

What a cool piece of history stashed away in this hotel/restaurant! It has a great historical setting with a hallway of historical photos and information. The video is outdated but still informational.

The dishes we were served were very ordinary. The beans seemed out of a can and the roast beef seemed processed with the gravy. The chicken was okay at best. We expected home cooking and it was closer to cafeteria style. We would not recommend the restaurant.

When I lived in the area, I would eat here a good bit. I was visiting and decided to stop by with a group of friends. They had never been here before and LOVED it! As a returning patron, I was a bit disappointed. The food was good Southern food - personally I thought some of the vegetables were under-seasoned... More

The Smith House is a good restaurant for southern style food. They are know for their fried chicken which is very good. The fried okra is really good as well. Out meal was served family style so if you don't leave full its your own fault. Conveniently located off the square.

We ate her after a visit to a lavender farm and loved it. We were exhausted and starving. Go hungry because they give you plenty of southern food. Great atmosphere as well.
