Don’t go between 2 pm and 7 pm on Friday or Saturday as they close off the parking lot and are rude about not letting you park there. This has always been my favorite go to spot in Dahlonega, but sadly the last two times...I’ve taken the long drive from my city there, they have blocked off the entire parking lot to keep it empty for hours because they have a 7 or 8 pm activity planned for the parking area. Hope they make lots of money because this choice has lost them my patronage. They do point you to an adjacent parking lot owned by a University where the signs state you will be towed unless you have a parking sticker. I have the feeling this is a decision made by staff and not the owner, but either way someone needs to give some thought to the impression they make when the staff rush to block your entrance into an empty parking lot and point you without much consideration to find parking on your
own in an already traffic congested small town. If they are to continue this practice, they should post this information on their website and understand its impact on customers, especially those who have mobility issues. What a shame such a pleasant place has adopted this noxious practice.More
We got to the restaurant before the lunch rush, so there was plenty of room. We walked in and were asked where we wanted to sit. I told the hostess we hadn't been there before and just put us in a nice spot. A nice...spot turned out to be 10 feet from the kitchen and 3 feet from the restroom! I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was totally tasteless and very greasy, the chips were the same and the coleslaw tasted as if you'd just chopped up cabbage and put it in a dish, no taste, no dressing, no seasoning. The server never refilled drinks or offered dessert. My husband said his burger was good, but all in all it was a miserable experience.More
This place has a cool interior and great food. The walls are lined with dollar bills that are marked however you want. It costs $1 to use markers and a stapler. I ordered the fish and chips for lunch. The fish was flaky and delicious....The fries were very good too. Just a neat restaurantMore
Visited on a Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. They were busy but we got seated at a small pub table inside next to the kitchen. All the workers were hustling and looked to be mostly college students. The service was attentive. It appeared to be...set up where anybody could serve your table (4 different people waited on us....with no problems). They have a large selection of beers and the menu was extensive for an "Irish Pub". We chose the Dublin stew (small bowl of essentially vegetable beef soup...which was delicious), the Banger in a roll (which was a good 12"+ long) with homemade chips (both excellent), and a hamburger with fries (both excellent). Atmosphere inside the basement pub is "organized chaos" and did not hinder our experience at all. We will DEFINITELY return again to this restaurant!
We walked in (I guess the back entrance) and the bartender was rude. She did however point us in the direction of the hostess. The hostess was accommodating and nice. Out server was nice. My issues lie in the food which was not great. I...came to the restaurant with my family and we wanted to share some apps & order drinks. Drinks were tasty but all apps we tried were not of any type of good quality food for paying for restaurant food at an irish pub I expected better. Then I went to the restroom and there were feces on the floor. I couldn’t believe my eyes. You know the saying if the bathroom is not clean imagine the kitchen. I was so turned off plus the food being very mediocre I would never return.More
The restaurant was very crowded when we ate there. Our server was very friendly, but the kitchen was slow getting the food out to tables. I had Shepherd's Pie, and it was good but not very authentic I didn't think. My husband had muscles and...pasta. Very small serving.More
Food was good; speed and service were very average. We ordered the sausage dip to start; it was creamy but could’ve used more sausage pieces and less tomato chunks. The shepherd’s pie was excellent; great portion size and flavor. My husband said his burger was...good, but was underwhelmed by the fries and barbecue sauce that accompanied it. The barbecue sauce tasted like it had beer mixed in and was chunky. Our appetizer came out very quickly, but our meal took significantly longer. I’m going to chalk some of it up to the fact that they are adjusting to COVID regulations, but I hope they get their service up to par.More
Restaurant was closed for two days but opened on Wednesday night the week of Christmas. Seated at 7 pm. I first ordered the mussels ; said they were out. Then I tried steaks ; said they were all out of steaks so I tried chicken...wings ;once again all out of chicken wings. Waitress suggested salmon but I saw it was normally cooked well done. I figured their fish would not be cooked properly. There was over a two hour wait to get into the restaurant (all the Restaurants this week!).I don’t understand why they would not have enough food knowing this is a very very popular time of the year. I ended up having a bowl of beef stew which was excellent but not what I wanted. I wish I could’ve try their other foods. Appetizer was served seconds before dinner was served plus dipping sauces for appetizers came after dinner. We were charge extras for toast points and dipping sauce too even though out of most items.More
