My wife found this restaurant on TripAdvisor last year while we were on a road trip. We enjoyed the food and service so much we decided to return this year, and we were not disappointed. I had the whole flounder which was excellent. And, we...found the wine list to be fairly priced and with good offerings. We’ll make this an annual stop for sure.More

A big out of town but worth the drive. This is a favorite of the locals. Good food and good service. They serve more than the catfish they are noted for.

This place not only has atmosphere but the food is amazing!! It’s a little pricy but omg it’s soooo delicious!! I had Parmesan crusted grouper and my hubby had the shrimp scampi and both meals were to die for! The twice baked pot and homemade...coleslaw were perfect sides. Service was friendly and so efficient didn’t ask for anything. We will be back if in the area!More

This was our third visit in 10 years. Dark paneling dark vinyl floor and oversized tablecloths along with lots of dated plates on the wal and bedroom curtains. However a restaurant is all about food The salads were fresh and tasty and the she crab...soup acceptable. I don't understand crackers and garlic butter ; we weren't having raw shellfish. Bread would have been nice. Hubby had grouper and grits : very good. I had shrimp and grits. It had mushroons and was smothered in marinara sauce Not so great; that sauce buried everything.I do like to try shrimp and grits from carious restaurants. The shrimp were not blackened. I like to make shrimp and grits at home I don't include mushrooms but do use roasted tonatoes and blackened shrimp I like mine better. For dessert we split an apple fritter: very good. Not sure we will go back as the dark interior put us in a very sleepy mood Being a Tuesday the place had few diners.More

This place has the best fried catfish. I stop here every time I go to GA My half way point. Great service, lovely location, reasonable prices. Even as i am always solo, I don't feel alone here.

My husband and I were in the area searching for somewhere to eat and read about the Daphne Lodge. We were about 20 minutes away so we decided to give it a try. Very quaint. We arrived just after they opened at 5:30 pm and...already there were about 10 tables of diners. It is somewhat dark inside, but tables each had their own lighting. We didn’t have a reservation but they seated us right away. We were in jeans, but so were other patrons so we didn’t feel under dressed. Our server was great, friendly and efficient. Appetizer - onions rings. Crispy batter, fried golden brown, big slices. Very good. Sweet tea - just right. Coffee - good and hot Complimentary wheat crackers and garlic butter - enjoyed them very much. First time having that combination. Husband got shrimp and grits, it had a tomato gravy and mushrooms. He said it was very good. Only complaint- shrimp a tad overdone. Salad was a medium size, it and the broccoli were both good. He also enjoyed my side of coleslaw. I got the shrimp and scallops - tasty but also overdone. Scallops were a bit rubbery. Both could have used a minute or two less cooking and would have been perfect. I wished I would have ordered the fried shrimp instead. Twice baked potato- very good. I added some of the left over garlic butter from the crackers and it added a nice extra flavor. Each meal came with hush puppies which we both liked. There is no dessert menu. $86 before tip. Would we return? Probably not, for the prices, we felt like the entrees could have been a bit more refined.More

Have always loved Daphne’s and the great atmosphere, great menu and super hosts Sonny & his wife. It’s always a pleasant experience that we looked forward to. That was our expectation for tonight as well. With a reservation, we arrived and was shown to a...tiny table for 2 in the bar area in a tiny corner ( next to the traffic of staff in and out preparing drinks). When we requested another seating area, we were told nothing was available by the new owner of the establishment…. While many tables were empty. She made it sound like the “Roy Rogers” table was an awesome table. Not!!! Our waitress, Rebecca, came to wait on us and could tell we were not satisfied. She said she could move us but because of the treatment by the owner, I chose to stay and this would be our last time dining there …& not to make a scene. As we were into the middle of our salads, said owner comes back to offers move. Again we declined since our meal had begun. Can’t say enough about the kindness of our waitress and her concerns as well as the kitchen staff as our meal was outstanding. But still not enough to drive from Albany to enjoy a dinner out. Miss the previous owners and the kindness they have shown over the years and always picking out a favorite table at each visit.More

Daphne Lodge has changed ownership. Thank you SuSu and Sonny for your many years of providing many excellent dining experiences. The current owners, Lisa and Rick Garcia, had their Grand Opening last night and it was truly amazing. The place was packed and everyone was...having a great time while socializing and eating a wonderful meal. I look forward to many more dining experiences with Lisa and Rick.More

Our friends have been talking about this place for years, and we’re just now trying it. I’m not sure what took us so long! This place makes me second guess most of my five-star ratings, because there needs to be some way to give this...place the credit it deserves. Daphne’s truly is a five-star rating! We both had the fried pickles, grouper, hush puppies, salad with ranch, and twice baked potato. Oh, and the apple fritters(?) and ice cream were amazing! The ambience is cozy and calming inside the restaurant. The décor makes your feel right at home. Our waitress was on top of everything for us; our dishes were removed as soon as we were done eating, our drinks were refilled at about the half way mark, and the kitchen made us some delicious food! The owner is very friendly and has a great sense of humor! We will definitely return soon!More

I took two friends to this restaurant as a way of saying thanks for allowing me to stay at their home. The food was delicious with one person having fried shrimp, the other person having broiled shrimp and scallops, and myself having the fried catfish....The twice baked potatoes were excellent. I really enjoyed the hushpuppies but should have asked for a little ketchup. There was none on the table. My catfish dinner came with 3 pieces of lemon which I loved squeezing on the catfish. Everything was prepared perfectly and I loved the 3 whole catfish on my order. Due to Covid-19, they portion the salad dressings out in very small plastic containers. There simply is not adequate dressing for the size of the nice salad you are given. My friend's being local noted that and wish/hope they bring back the larger ''dip your own'' selections of dressings. Other than the meager salad dressing, we were uniformly pleased with the quality and freshness of all entrees. I would definitely come back. Well worth the time and money. Great food, dinged 1 circle due to the salad dressing issue. The owner circulated around the dinning room and asked people how their food was. I will return when I next visit the area.More

We stayed at the Lake Blackshear Resort and wanted something more than what they had to offer at the Grill. We went on a Friday night around 7 PM without a reservation and they were hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner as well. Susu Burt was...so hospitable and told us she could seat us at 8 PM. We went back to the resort to feed our dog and walk him and returned at 8 PM and were seated shortly after we arrived. All staff were so nice and helpful, Sonny Burt checked on us several times during dinner. I had the house special of catfish. Three catfish fried (FYI: head and tail are still on), freshly made cole slaw, cheese grits, tomato stew gravy and hush puppies. It was a lot, but I managed to eat it all. Also tried the house special desert of Crescent filled with apples and vanilla ice cream. This was a wonderful find and so glad we ate there. I would recommend you have a reservation, which appears to be the norm of the locals that were eating there.More

What an outstanding place to eat. The Daphne Lodge was recommended to us by some acquittances I met online. We were planning on eating there with another couple on Friday night but when we called for reservations, which is recommended as it is a medium...size facility, we found out they were booked for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We did get a reservation for that night and we are sure glad we did. The deviled crab was delicious and the she-crab soup was outstanding. The service was impeccable and was delivered with enthusiasm. We enjoyed our meal and the time spent is this beautiful lodge .More
