It is with an abundance of gratitude that my husband and I extend our warmest “thank you” to Chari for committing to work with us on very short notice as well as agreeing to travel 88 miles each way to deliver a fabulous milestone 80th...Birthday “Masterpiece” cake to the venue of my mother-in-law’s celebration of life. After the original pastry chef my husband was working with abruptly went MIA and stop returning calls towards the final stages of the cake design, created a tremendous amount of undue stress - to further complicate matters my husband and I reside out of state. Upon aggressive research, we were fortunate to locate Chari’s “How Sweet it is Cake Studio” via TripAdvisor. Chari had a perfect five-star review rating from all of her customers, which is impressive in of itself as I actually write reviews for this forum. After my husband and I spoke with Chari to explain the horrible position we were placed in by the previous bakery along with what my husband artistically envisioned for his mother’s 80th birthday celebration cake; as well as her ability to deliver – considering the distance; Chari immediately put all of our concerns to rest by actively listening. Upon carefully listening to the artistic details and providing tremendous insights, Chari quickly sent cake renderings and we all were in constant communications until the vision was captured with the final rendering. Please note that Chari was able honor all request that were made, in which the previous bakery stated would not be able to accommodate some request. Chari was such a pleasure to work with and truly is the consummate professional who takes tremendous pride in her craft. It was also very comforting to know that one of Chari’s largest client was the Fort Benning Military base, which in of itself speaks volumes about Chari’s character. Chari kept the lines of communication open with us and always made herself available, even during after-hours. It did not take long before Chari earned our trust and our business as follow-up/through and active communications were key for my husband and I in light of our previous disastrous bakery experience. Before we knew it, the contract was signed and we trusted God/Chari and her process as we never turned back. The day of the event, during Shari’s commute to the venue a jackknife occurred with a truck which delayed Chari’s arrival. Thank God Chari’s car was not directly involved in the accident and she was unharmed. Upon Chari’s arrival and meeting her for the first time, it felt as if we already knew her. Chari possessed such a sweet friendly presence, while being the perfectionist that we absolutely loved! After Chari put the final touches on the masterpiece, it was simply stunning in its appearance as Chari nailed the hand-crafted Singer sewing machine with fondant fabric, buttons and needles. The second object of significance on the cake was a Georgia Peach along with slices which amazingly resembled a real peach- with the cliché “Sweet as a Georgia…”. The third object of significance was a traditional nurse’s pillbox hat and many items associated with a nurse as my mother in law is a retired nurse. Chari even created a clever and memorable Rx for life signed by Dr. Fabulous 80 (note 80 and Fabulous was the theme). My husband actually read the Rx as apart of the cake ceremony and the guest, all 120 of them absolutely adored the cake/quote and enjoyed eating it even more! The cake was absolutely delicious – butter rum flavored yellow cake with in season fresh cut up peaches as a filling and a light butter cream icing. I am salivating as I describe the cake. The cake exceeded all expectations as did Chari’s level of professionalism, sweet personality and dedication to her craft along with her compassion for people. We thank God for divinely placing Chari of “How Sweet it is Cake Studio” into our mist as she without a doubt blessed our family & friends with an unforgettable cake/human experience to last a lifetime.
Incredible job & thank you again Chari!More
