So I really wanted to love Hattie Marie’s. I am an avid supporter of black owned business because I believe we definitely should support one another even before the BLM movement. My husband grew up around Port Arthur, TX so he really wanted to support...them as well. Now we expected there to be a wait because we came for the 4th of July so that was no biggie. But when I tell you that the customer service is horrible, I mean HORRIBLE!! My husband works in customer service so that is a biggie for him! The way the older woman in there was talking to people was ridiculous. I’m a firm believer in it’s not what you say, but how you say it. We were told we would have to wait about 45 to an hour for our food which we were okay with because it was a lot of people and we figured as much but honey, when I tell you we waited for well over an hour and a half and our food still was not ready!! My husband went back in to follow up at the hour mark and was asked what his number was and when did he order then he was rudely told that he still had another hour to wait.....now that’s ridiculous. So he over hears someone say oh they have ribs now after I was told a hour ago that it wasn’t any ribs left....the person asks well what if I want to add ribs to my order and the older woman that works there replied “you’ll have to wait another hour or more because you will be after all these people” in a rude manner....now this is my problem if someone outside of the black race spoke to us in that manner then we’d be ready to go off but I digress. It’s a shame to me that we can be so rude to people that look like us trying to support us!! As I am writing this, we have been waiting for nearly 2 hours and still no food!! If you want our continued support please work on developing better customer service skills for your staff because at this point I don’t care how good the food is, I probably won’t be back!! Even under pressure, you should still be pleasant to your customers!! I didn’t notice any customers being rude or unruly, just curious. I’m not the only person that was frustrated about this either but they may not make a post about it and that’s okay!More
