So I really wanted to love Hattie Marie’s. I am an avid supporter of black owned business because I believe we definitely should support one another even before the BLM movement. My husband grew up around Port Arthur, TX so he really wanted to support...them as well. Now we expected there to be a wait because we came for the 4th of July so that was no biggie. But when I tell you that the customer service is horrible, I mean HORRIBLE!! My husband works in customer service so that is a biggie for him! The way the older woman in there was talking to people was ridiculous. I’m a firm believer in it’s not what you say, but how you say it. We were told we would have to wait about 45 to an hour for our food which we were okay with because it was a lot of people and we figured as much but honey, when I tell you we waited for well over an hour and a half and our food still was not ready!! My husband went back in to follow up at the hour mark and was asked what his number was and when did he order then he was rudely told that he still had another hour to wait.....now that’s ridiculous. So he over hears someone say oh they have ribs now after I was told a hour ago that it wasn’t any ribs left....the person asks well what if I want to add ribs to my order and the older woman that works there replied “you’ll have to wait another hour or more because you will be after all these people” in a rude manner....now this is my problem if someone outside of the black race spoke to us in that manner then we’d be ready to go off but I digress. It’s a shame to me that we can be so rude to people that look like us trying to support us!! As I am writing this, we have been waiting for nearly 2 hours and still no food!! If you want our continued support please work on developing better customer service skills for your staff because at this point I don’t care how good the food is, I probably won’t be back!! Even under pressure, you should still be pleasant to your customers!! I didn’t notice any customers being rude or unruly, just curious. I’m not the only person that was frustrated about this either but they may not make a post about it and that’s okay!More

First time trying Hattie Mae's. Had the ribs, mac cheese and fries. Mac and cheese were good. The ribs ok. Thick and tender but seamed to be boiled and finished in a smoker. I've eaten ribs in a lot of places and the first thing...I look for is the smoke ring. These ribs had none.More

I heard about this place on Facebook. And today my husband and I went to try the food . I must say the food was outstanding. We had the wing plate with the mac & cheese and the greens. We can't wait to go back...and try the rib. This is a very good place to go. And the price is good for the amount of food they give you.More

The baked beans and ribs were good. The cabbage was excellent. The brisket was award winning. Perfectly prepared. A must try.

I enjoy the ribs and wings. More so the wings! The greens were the best I've ever eaten at a restaurant and the macaroni and cheese too were delightful. I tasted the broth of the gumbo and even though it had a rich flavor it...did not give me that 'gumbo' kick. True Louisiana native here. I definitely woud visit again!More

I was interested in trying their food because of the videos I've seen on Instagram. The restaurant is nice, clean, friendly staff. I really appreciated the gentleman who cleared and cleaned the tables because he made sure you had everything you needed. He even volunteered...to take photos of my friends and me when we were outside struggling to take selfies. The side dishes were AMAZING!!!! The greens were so good and seasoned very well. The macaroni and cheese was very, very good! I also had the beef brisket and the wings, but they were just ok. My friends had pork ribs and they said they were just ok. I will most definitely go back for the sides because they were the absolute best! I recommend that you try this place. You will love the sides and you might even like the wings, brisket, and ribs more than we did. Try it!!More

Everything tasted so home cooked and just cooked with love. My Dino Bref Rib was so tender that it was falling off the bone. The sides reminded me of my Big Ma’s. My son said that even the fries were tasty. 😁 The service was...slow and be prepared to spend at least $15 per person but don't let that stop you from experiencing the BBQ.More

I went here with my brother for the first time. I saw this place is 1 bbq place in Atlanta from the AJC! Only place in Atlanta that I can get a huge beef rib with 2 sides. They call it the Dino rib. I...got the mac and cheese and potato salad. I also got 2 cornbread muffins for a dollar. The plate came with 2 sauces. If you haven’t visited go see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. They are originally from Port Author Texas.More

So my co-worker told me about this BBQ restaurant which I decided to give it a try. It was clean which was a plus for me. I love BBQ pulled pork so this was the test which I did enjoy. However we were never greeted...after entering & this is a biggy for me. Customer Satisfaction is sooo important too me. 1st impression is always a last. This restaurant has great potential but needs work on the menu. There's a need for deserts such as yams, cakes, sweet potatoes Custer pies as well as more selections of drinks & they most definitely will have to add more side items. Other than that Im ok. ThanksMore

Stopped by Hattie Marie’s today to find out if the rumors about their food were true. I can certainly confirm for you that the food is outstanding and the service is great. I really wanted to try the Dino Rib, but they are only available...on Friday and Saturdays. The ribs were great and the sauce is truly unique. Their wings are smoked with a wonderful flavor and they are of above average size. I can say that I have now found a new BBQ place. I can’t wait to come back and try the Dino Ribs. All the hype is well deserved. Well Done Ms Hattie Marie!!!More
