A Little Bit of Heaven

In these challenging times of Covid-19, The Baking Grounds continues to bring a bit of heaven. Their Lunch Survival Kits are delicious. My husband and I got the chicken salad. The kit came with a delicious loaf of fresh bread, chips, 5 divine cookies and wonderful chicken salad enough to make 5 sandwiches!

Delightful Bakery/Eatery

This was our first time here and we ordered cinnamon roll French toast, biscuits and gravy, and eggs with corn beef hash. For drinks we had two coffees and a hot chocolate. Our meals were served promptly and well prepared. The coffee was exceptional. Our waitress Danielle was quick, pleasant and checked on us just enough times to be sure our breakfasts were fine and all of our needs had been meet. Out check came to $29, including tax. We all agreed breakfast was a winner and look forward to returning.

Best bakery in town

This is the bakery we use every time we need a cake or a dessert for a special occasion. It is always beautifully decorated, the cakes are moist and always delicious. Strawberry is our favorite. They also serve breakfast and lunch and every time we’ve eaten there, it is delicious. The staff is always friendly as well which is a huge plus.

Cute but so/so

The place is so adorable and baked goods are beautiful. - But I’ve eaten there several times and it’s nothing spectacular—in fact, I’d say disappointing. I ordered a Turkey/avocado/bacon club. It was 2 slices of bread with a smear of watered down avocado spread, 2 thin slices of round Turkey-like out of a Buddings meat package and 2 half- cooked bacon. Tasted like nothing. Chips came with it. $10.95. ! My friend ordered a Reuben that she said was good and got a side of broccoli salad (an upcharge of 2.50) and a tea. She was shocked at $17 for this meal. Other than being cute…the food lacks.

Creative cakes and more

The Baking Grounds is a quaint little spot to pick up Creative cakes, wedding cakes, cookies, muffins, cupcakes and breads. Help yourself pots of coffee -including flavor of the day -are available along with Breakfast and special of the day lunches. It’s a treat to visit.

Not a $14 lunch

Stood at the “Please Wait to be Seated” sign for almost 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Apparently you can seat yourself. Who knew? Ordered turkey sandwich on a croissant with potato salad. Croissant and potato salad were uncharges. Not worth it. Croissant want gummy soft. More like a crescent roll than a croissant. Turkey was thick cut Oscar Meyer nasty meat. Potato salad was ok. Server brought my ticket without asking if I needed anything else. Um, ok? Free cookie tasted like Pepperidge Farm from the bag. Did I order wrong? This place has been on my list to try. Sadly underwhelming. ☹️ Got some baked goods to go. Hoping for redemption.

A little disappointed

My daughter and I popped by to pick up some desserts and bread on a Saturday. We purchased lemon bread and strawberry bread. We had very inaccurately assumed that they would be flavored, but instead only had the color of those fruits, and maybe a light scent, but taste like plain bread. Kind of disappointing....

Hello, We are very sorry to hear you were not pleased with those breads. We sell several loaves of each weekly, as well as use them for our French Toast specials. Our customers love them, and we have never had a complaint. We use pure lemon & strawberry emulsions, and it does have a great lemon and strawberry accent. Not sure what happened with what you purchased, but we would be glad to refund your money or replace with anything you may want to try. Getting a 3-star rating is certainly not good, and we strive to always be a 5-star experience. Again, our apologies. Just let us know how we can rectify your disappointment.

WEDDING CAKE

We ordered our cake from baking grounds for our January wedding. We got a three tier cake with white wedding and champagne flavored cakes. We also got the raspberry mousse for in between the cake. There are so many different flavors and mousse options to choose from. We chose a different design for each layer of the cake and the decorating was gorgeous!! We could not have been happier with the service and quality!! Melinda’s personal touch every step of the way was amazing. 1000% recommend.

Grounded in Delicious Desserts

This bakery does not disappoint in any way. Desserts are fantastic. The staff is always friendly. This bakery made my daughter's wedding cake and provided desserts for the wedding and guests provided only rave reviews for all of the desserts. I find myself making a trip to Buford, just to go to the Baking Grounds. I've tried many other bakeries around the metro area and this one is excellent by comparison. Their pastry and dessert offerings are plentiful, and always fresh. Try it once, and you'll be hooked.

Very underwhelming

Had variety of cupcakes. They looked good but the taste was very underwhelming. Buttercream frosting had waxy taste. The chocolate in the old fashioned cupcake didn’t even taste like chocolate. There was no filling in any of these either. Seemed like a very unimaginative approach for a bakery. The Lemon and chocolate overload were a bit better in that they at least had a different (read: less waxy) taste. So instead of a one I’ll give two stars. Wouldn’t go here again.

Hello, We are c=very sorry you did not like our cupcakes. Obviously, everyone has a right to their opinion, and we certainly respect yours. We would like to point out that our cupcakes are the number one seller here at The Baking Grounds. Literally sell thousands a month. We are a small family business, and bad reviews have a big impact on us, as it does everyone "reviewed" on Trip Advisor. It is always unfortunate when a customer chooses to give us a bad review without so much as a chance to make it right. Had you come to us, instead, we would have gladly refunded your money and even offered a FREEE replacement. We are again sorry for your experience.

Wonderful bakery/cafe

This is a wonderful bakery/cafe. Great food, friendly staff and owners. You can enjoy great food from the menu or enjoy the daily specials. They offer a daily flavored coffee and in spring and summer the daily coffee can be served iced. So many great baked goods there’s nothing there isn’t delicious. Enjoy eating inside or outside and if you need to wait for a table it is so worth the wait🤩

Amazing Bakery and Cafe

The Baking Grounds has been my go for years when ordering specialty cakes or just need to grab a few treats, and they are consistently amazing. Not only are they beautiful but delicious. The staff is so welcoming and kind! The cafe is delicious and with the variety of cupcakes, cookies, pastries, etc. I never leave empty handed. If you have not visited The Baking Grounds, highly recommend checking them out.

Our Absolute Favorite!

The Baking Grounds is our favorite local cafe! Walking in instantly puts you in a better mood! The food is always right on point and we love trying the “Specials of the Day”. Everyone is always so friendly and we especially love our favorite waitress Dessa! This is also our go to for all of our cake and bakery needs. My girls love picking out a treat though they always have trouble deciding between all of the wonderful choices! I can’t say enough about this place!

Don’t Waste Your Tine

I have eaten here many times and every time I also purchase a lot of the sweets and breads. Never had a problem until I wanted to place an order for custom cupcakes. It was not enough notice to get something special which I totally understood. I was prepared to order standard cupcakes and use my cupcake liners to go along with the theme of the party. A young girl was trying to help me when another lady got on the phone and was completely rude and unhelpful. She made me feel like I was wasting their time. I say all of this to say to you, don’t waste YOUR time at Baking Grounds.

Delicious baked sweet treats

Whenever we are in the area, we make a point of stopping by for some sweet treats. The cookies and cakes are so delightful to see, beautifully decorated with colorful details. They taste as good as they look. The service was friendly and helpful, carefully packing my selections for the trip home.
