Great food and ambiance....but expect high prices ($200+ lunch for 4) and snotty attitudes. Cocktail prices seem very high and no "happy hour". Management is not accomodating for special occasions.

Went to Hillstone around 4:45 pm on Sat, Aug 7th for my bday dinner with 6 people. Had to wait about 45 minutes, but the staff did a great job offering us appetizers and drinks outside. Food and service was perfect! Prime Rib sandwich was...perfect! See you again soon.More

I have always enjoyed this restaurant, but the last few times I noticed some really unpleasant changes. Ordinarily, most of the staff are great, but you can always count on the disrespectfulness of at least a few of the servers. The wine list was revamped,...and every one by the glass is now almost $20. My favorite salad, the Thai Steak, has had the portion reduced by a third. When my friend asked to leave off one ingredient of her salad, the server had to get permission from the GM. I was there in 2019, and the male server was so rude, I vowed not to go back. This is not a fast food restaurant, extremely expensive, and you may not be treated respectfully. Not to mention the long time diner who was thrown out because he wanted a salad to go? Are they just overrun with bad behaving patrons and acting out? So sad.More

I was dining with my friends at lunch, I ordered a salad to go because I wanted to wait to eat until later in the day but still wanted to meet with my friends. I was told no by the server. So, I ordered it...as my entree’. When my friends were finished I ordered a “to-go” box. The server came back to the table after saying she would get me a to-go box with the manager, who leaned aggressively on the table and asked if I ordered the salad with the intention of taking it home. I sheepishly said yes because her posture was much like a school principal. She told me she would allow “this time” but will not allow it again. She said she would rather I not order anything than order the salad to go. This used to be one of my favorite places. Won’t go back.More

Went tonight for our anniversary. Was there a month ago. Hillstone used to be one of our favorite “go to “ restaurants. No more:(. Prices skyrocketed. Crazy AND to make it worse no customization of the menus. My husband wanted chicken on a Caesar and...was told it could only be on Kale. I wanted Tuna on Kale that I have gotten for years and tonight they said NO. I could not even order a side of tuna. GOOD BYE Hillstone. It’s not a wonder you were not busy tonight. I had heard prices went up but so did options. Time to find our next “go to”.More

I'm not big on writing bad reviews however I'd like to help Hillstone out here. From being one of my most favorite places for special events to now a place neither I or my partner will visit indicates something has gone wrong with management. I've...been in the hospitality business for 30 years. They definitely have a "culture" problem with both management and waitstaff. To me it seems like a recent development. Hillstone, I hope you can turn it around.More

I have been going to Hillstone for the last 10 years. My wife loves the artichokes and that’s pretty much the only reason of going there. Any other mediocre restaurants would have better food than Hillstone. Their cocktail/wine list have not changed in years, the...menu is boring and the food not always wells executed. They have too many rules for a restaurant of that type. You can’t dine with more than 4 people, they don’t do bottle service out on the lawn if you are waiting for a table, you can’t answer your phone if you are at the table, can’t take a baked potato, fries or salad to go (even thought during the shut down they were very happy to do it) and the management is beyond rude..the only reason they are still in business is the view and how easy to get an escort at the bar. Will never go back. Don’t waist your money when Winter Park has so many great places!More

So a local guy causes a scene so bad that the restaurant calls the police on him. And as you would expect everyone on social media believes this guy's side of the story and starts bashing this wonderful restaurant without even knowing the whole story....Well trust me, this restaurant is as good as ever - the food, the service, the beautiful lakeside views. On our most recent visit it was very busy as usual, but the hostess that seated us took our drink order and we had them promptly. Our server (I think her name was Summer) was an absolute joy and made our dinner extra special. My wife talked me into the smoked salmon as an appetizer. I love seafood but salmon isn't my favorite. The fish alone would have been good enough but with the dressing on those little slabs of toast made it incredible. Great choice on her part. For entrees I chose the Hawaiian ribeye with loaded baked potato and she got the pan fried snapper. Both dishes were amazing! Everyone raves about the ribeye and it totally lived up to it - a nice size cut that was cooked perfectly. The potato was delicious and huge, enough for two people I would say. The snapper was lightly coated in panko crumbs and tasted wonderful (we shared). For dessert we shared a slice of key lime pie with a graham cracker and pecan crust. It was outstanding. As much as I enjoyed the food it was the service that really blew me away. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and accommodating. A dirty dish didn't sit on the table for more than a minute before someone was picking it up, a different person never let my water glass go below a quarter full before refilling it, the food came out at the perfect pace, etc. Upon entering we were welcomed by many different members of the staff, and the same thing happened as we left. An absolutely perfect evening. I can't wait to go back. Don't let some miserable people steer you away from this great establishment.More

I have had the dubious honor of eating here before. Nothing special. Over priced, and hit and miss service. After reading how a man was refused a salad to go, well, that was just the last straw. Again, this place has never been the greatest....Sat with empty glasses, cold food, strange behavior from management, and dirty bathrooms once in a while. I won't be back. What a strange place with a strange attitude.More

The food and service were excellent but are slowly getting worse. The restaurant chain trains junior managers here, so the the "rules" change frequently. While the clientele was once mostly locals, it is now mostly tourists.

The Restaurant does have outside seating, depending upon the time of year you are visiting, I would suggest having your Drinks outside on the Veranda and in our case we had a few Starters and then moved inside where there is... More
