Delicious Fish & Sushi, Friendly Service

The staff are knowledgeable & happy to help; high quality fish is used for sushi and sashimi, great variety & delicious sushi. I came at 6:45 on a weeknight so it was very busy but the servers always had time for me. The “Kiss Me Appetizer” is a great way to sample three of their current fish offerings with a delicious ponzu sauce. If you have a hardy constitution (oil does not trouble you), I recommend the rich and delicious escolar-based Princess Roll off of their Specialty/Secret menu. Perfectly cooked shrimp and shredded crab. Expect to spend about $30 a plate here for some delicious food. The only negative is that the wait time can get very long for larger or cooked orders; ordering in advance, ordering appetizers, and bringing good company are great ways to mitigate this.

Fantastic sushi!

Best sushi we’ve had in a long time. This is a small but wonderful restaurant to have magnificent sushi in. Every member of the staff was really attentive and friendly. I had the krab Rangoon as an appetizer and it was plentiful and delicious, K had the taco appetizer loaded with tuna and a mouth watering sauce. I had the Tsunami combo for one which are with sushi and sashimi and a Tsunami roll. Best taste combo I’ve had especially when accompanied by a bowl of miso soup and a salad topped with a ginger dressing. K also enjoyed her miso soup with a seafood salad and a Diablo roll chock full of crab etc. we enjoyed the Kirin Ichiban beer and I enjoyed the house Cabernet. We love sitting at the sushi bar and tonight was no exception. The two chefs were like watching an orchestra of two putting together amazing meals. I cannot fathom how they can remember all this ingredients for all the wonderful choices on the menu. This is a must try place but get there early cuz it fills up early and stays full. And they also do an incredible amount of takeout, each produced with the exact same attention to detail as the in house dining! This was an exceptionally wonderful experience!

Best place for Sushi and sashimi

My husband and I visit Tsunami Sushi quite regularly (2 times per month) and we are not go out to eat people. We love the sashimi, so the sashimi platter is our standard order. The fish is VERY fresh. We’ve sampled sushi and sashimi around the world and Tsunami Sushi is up there at the top for us.

Excellent Sashimi and Sushi !!!

Came here for lunch this afternoon with my wife, daughter and g-daughter. It was busy just past noon but still a handful of tables open. Literally greeted as we entered and I wasn’t even inside yet! Go ahead and sit where you like👍. Our server, Jenny, was very friendly, knew the menu and prompt with with everything. I ordered the Sashimi app to start which was absolutely the freshest fish...ohhhhh YUM! My wife had the Seaweed Salad...very tasty! Daughter had Spicy Tuna Salad...YUM and g-daughter had Miso soup🤔...did not sample. I and daughter had Fish Tacos...OMG YUMOLA. Had ordered 4 rolls which came out last... G-daughter had Tempura Roll...excellent. Daughter had Hawaiian Roll...heh, okay. Wife had the Tigers Eye Roll (made with cucumber instead of rice) which was REALLY tasty! I had special roll of day, Insanity Roll...it was ok. Oh yeah, my wife ordered Tempura Veggie app which was really good...not greasy, light and crunchy tempura. Overall, the food was very tasty except for the 2 ok rolls. Presentation was very well done. The rolls were a tad on the smaller size. Service was spot on! I’m giving Tsunami 2 thumbs up 👍👍 for food and service we received today.

Good sushi, friendly service

Went here after day at Legoland. It was bit empty so was bit hesitant but TA had good reviews. We were sitter quickly. Order some rolls, Don katsu, udon, gyroza. It was pretty good sushi. Food was plentiful and yummy. If we are around here again, will stop by again.

Excellent find near Legoland

The full package for a quality restaurant - delicious and beautifully presented food, reasonable prices, attractive interior and friendly staff. And it happens to be just minutes from Legoland, a welcome respite from hamburgers, fries, hot dogs and fried chicken. I came here for take-out after a long day at Legoland and wish we had had time to stay and eat. The sushi was some of the best I’d ever tried—definitely the most unique sushi I’d had. The Dr. XXX roll had a thin layer of something fried (sorry I can’t be more specific) around it and added such an interesting taste and texture. It was much larger than I expected for the price. The can of soda I ordered was ice cold and the shrimp tempera appetizer was also larger than I expected for the price. They also had a variety of kid meals that can satisfy picky eaters, from shrimp or chicken dinners (grilled or tempura) to a PB&J roll.

Very good sushi for a non-metropolitan location

A neighborhood kind of sushi place with interesting variation in the menu choices. Rolls are creative with diverse combinations of flavors and textures. Nice choice of appetizers and entrees but the sushi is the centerpiece. Maybe not up to LA or NY in quality but very good and a great value.

Sushi excellent ! Teriyaki NOT

Best sushi according to everyone I know who loves it- this is place to go! Steak Teriyaki is tough and in the middle of each slice is a piece of gristle. The chicken teriyaki is tasteless and rather dry. The shrimp & vegetable tempura appetizer was a good size serving but the tempura wasn't spiced & was bland. If you dipped in soy sauce it defeated the purpose of tempura. The pan fried dumpling appetizers were EXCELLENT & the ponzu sauce put it over the top!! #these remarks were from people at my table who ordered what they commented on. I had my beloved sushi!!!!

Yummy Sushi, one mis-step (truly)

My family of 5 really enjoyed our meal at Tsunami Sushi - the sushi was fresh and creative and we felt a good value for our money. Only misstep was the waitress accidentally spilled my husband's unsweet tea on my daughter. Thankfully, we hadn't unpacked our suitcases yet and we had a change of clothes in the car. She was nice enough to take off one of our starters, but I honestly thought mgmt could have done more.

Not the sushi I'm used too

I travel frequently and have had sushi in many different cities. This place makes it differently in a way we didn't enjoy. Had California rolls and rainbow rolls and the family didn't like them very much. It was fresh enough and nobody got sick but it just didn't seem quite right.
