Went to a nearby attraction and came across this place as we started to head back towards the West Coast. As there were cars parked and a mix of tourists and Bajans eating here, we gave it a try and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent lunch we had here. Not too expensive - good food.

We first visited the Sand Dunes when it was a small Rum Bar style bar in 1997. We have revisited every visit to Barbados since. Over time the place has been developed, not over developed, but maintains it's original character. It has been discovered by some of the smaller tour operators, so is considerably busier now. The service is still... More

Stopped here for lunch while on an island tour mainly to taste authentic Bajan food. We were not disappointed. I had fried flying fish and macaroni pie delicious my husband had chicken along with a chick pea side dish. The coleslaw/potato salad side dish was scrumptious too. Not expensive freshly cooked and friendly. Loved it.

The place is nothing special to look at and is not fancy inside at all. The lady server is a bit grumpy but she did produce a lovely plate of macaroni casserole which was washed down with a bottle of Banks beer - refreshed and on we go!

Note it is not open for dinner it closes at 4. But it is great local food, great portions and very fair prices. You have to sit outside and enjoy the breeze have a local beer and order the flying fish and macaroni pie.

Interestingly enough we were served the very same menu on a catamaran cruise the next day (Flying fish, barbecue chicken, macaroni casserole, potato salad). Sand Dunes did it much better. The only issue I had with the food was that I had to beg for sliced lemons to go with the fish. I decided that must not be a typical... More

I think if you are on any kind of tour, this is one of the stopping places. When we arrived there were two large groups so it was slow in getting our food. They offer local cuisine and it was good.

Good place to stop for a drink or a snack. Reasonably varied menu, quick service and plenty of shade. Would definitely go there again.

...It can be somewhat difficult to find a place to eat at ALL when you're in Barbados (if you're visiting on your own with no tour guide or hired taxi as we were) sooo - this place worked well for a lunch for 4 (two adult and 2 tween/teens). We stopped after going to Barclay Park and while tooling around... More

We arrived at just after 10:00am full of enthusiasm having read mostly favourable reviews. We made our way inside and with huge reluctance a woman came out didn't even speak to us and when we asked to see the menu for breakfast she pointed dismissively to a board almost hidden by the counter. When we enquired if there was bacon... More
