Easily the best Cuban around! Have been coming for 21 years and it is consistently the best food around. I get the #1 with black beans and rice and sweet plantains and if I could eat this meal every day I would! Service is fantastic...and atmosphere is super homey and cozy!More

Went for Sunday Lunch today and this review is very mixed: 5 stars for Beef Empanadas w/chimichurie (at least I think that's what it was- garlic, oil, chopped cilantro and citrus juice) sauce and 5 stars for the delicious Flan but I had a chicken...breast and it was dry, tasteless and over breaded, plantains which were good and black beans which were also tasteless. The breaded fried chicken breast and black beans did not seem to have ANY seasoning at all. My husband had what seemed to be chicken carnitas (fried chunks of chicken with sautéed onions) and he liked them but also found the rice, beans and plantains dull. It's a shame because we have eaten at Don Ramon's so many times and had great food so maybe it was our choices....I am willing to own that. In the past we have loved the lechon and other dishes. Our server was wonderful (as their employees seem always to be outstanding- at every location) and the restaurant is older but very well maintained and spotless! It is a charming place to eat- very comfortable and lots of atmosphere carried back from the best days of Cuba.More

We really enjoyed our dinner here! It’s very cute in a vintage type of Cuban vibe. The churasco, black bean soup & garlic shrimp were fantastic! Service was a bit slow... but overall great food.

I like that it's run by husband and wife for over 25 years. Private parking. I celebrated my birthday in the private room, and I was glad the menu was large enough (soups, meats, liver, seafood, even lamb, etc.) to please everybody. It was cozy...and lots of fun with live music. We couldn't help it, and started dancing LOL I took my parents to dinner one Sunday, and they had a piano lady there. It was relaxing. We had cocktails, enjoy our Zarzuela (seafood creole), and of course desserts! PS They also cater.More

I had dinner at this restaurant with friends and did not like it at all. First of all, the decor is old, dark, dusty and outdated. Even though The restaurant was not packed, it took over 30 minutes to be served our food. We were...advised that an appetizer we ordered could not be served because the cook could not do it right! Our waiter barely spoke English so it was hard to understand what he was trying to explain. Everything in my plate was cold, the steak tasteless and the highlight of my rice was that is was yellow! My friend ordered pork and it was also cold. It was pricey for the quality of food and extremely slow service. I do NOT recommend this place.More

After a visit to the Norton Museum, we proceeded south on Dixie Highway to Don Ramons’s restaurants for a very late lunch. This family run restaurant was packed with a diverse clientele. We ordered skit steak.. the juicy, tender steak was accompanied by perfectly prepared...plantains, a dirty rice(rice and black beans. ..a classic side. Our tea and sofa drinks were replenish in a quick and friendly manner. We splurged and decided to enjoy the house flan Try it. Delicious. The whole meal was very reasonable, our waiter pleasant and helpful. It is worth a visit. Several evenings there is live entertainment. Parking is adjacent to the restaurant.More

Less than a third of the tables had guests when we arrived and yet it took 10 minutes for our waiter to show up, 25 minutes for bagged Caesar Salad to arrive and another 35 minutes for bland and unattractive entrees. This gave us lots...of time to note that other guests were having similarly poor service. The sides of mixed rice were the best part of the meal, A medium steak was what everyone else would call well done and the pork was dry and tough. By the time the entrees arrived we had already decided we would never return. Thankfully they had live music to distract us and the soloist was terrific.More

It's one of the local Cuban chain restaurants in the area. There was live music and constant people coming and going. I tried the combination with chicken, steak, and port with rice and beans on a side. The portion was so big that I could...not finish it. Everything tasted good, just the right amount of flavors and spices. On the other hand, the steak that I ordered medium came out a bit over-cooked with no pink in the center whatsoever. Besides that everything was good. The mojito was excellent, don't miss it.More
