Sylvia and Mitch are very engaging and a ton of fun. It's a small place but people keep rotating in and out so there is always a place to sit or stand. The U shaped bar makes for lively conversation in a casual setting. There's...usually a variety of people in the place, mostly locals, but everyone is welcomed warmly. My favorite place on the Island.More

Wandering around Venice with lots of road construction and retail stores closed early for a Friday evening- but we were so lucky to find this place! The place is very small but accommodated about 15 around the bar with a few other high top tables...too. The owners were a delight to meet and speak with. Lots of really terrific reasonably priced wines by the glass, and if you prefer, by the bottle. We got a tasting of each wine we were thinking about trying. One of the best parts about this place is the relaxed, conversational atmosphere. We were new in the area and met folks who had relocated to the Venice area. They shared all sorts of great info with us and included us in their conversations. Lovely place, great wine- We'll go back!More

My wife and I visited Venice for a week and tried the restaurants, pubs, beach etc. all week long. Had a very nice time. It was our second to last nite there when we stumbled across The Olive Grove. We were reading the sign out...front and looked up and the people inside were waving us in. It felt awkward but we peeked in and said we were looking for music? "What kind you want?" they asked, and they proceeded to put springsteen on for us (quick choice?) Anyway, then i asked for Guinness, my wife for Coors Light - Nope and Nope. We had to laugh - "What have you got?" So i drank some Reisling, which i enjoyed and my wife drank Stella. Sounds pretty imperfect, yes? Yes. But then the owners, Mitch and Silvia, proceeded to introduce us to everyone in the bar, chatted with us about our lives, told us about theirs, other patrons chimed in. I'm not kidding - i'm not very outgoing, but this place felt instantly comfortable. I don't know what it is, but they just know how to welcome you. Seriously - stop in, you won't be sorry. Oh, as for food, pretty much if you order in advance i think... like i think they do private parties. (We didn't try olive oils, but did discuss.) But if they happen to be cooking something, they give you some. Silvia shared some chicken cutlets with us that were delicious. I also saw a customer come in who had been in Argentina, and Mitch kept special wine on hand for him. Not sure of all the other connections, but seems like they make friends with all their customers. And if you're going to be there for a week and want something special to drink, tell Mitch and if it's available and reasonable, i bet he gets it for you. We came back the next night too, and again, had a wonderful time. Good place, good people. We hope to go back.More

My name is Chuck!!! And my wife and I ventured into The Olive grove because the town of Venice had rolled up the sidewalk at 9pm on a Friday Night, As we walked across a non-descript parking lot we saw a strange sign that said..."the diamond lounge". We decided to be adventurous, a choice we had no idea would effect our lives in such a cataclysmic way. When we walked in the door we first thought we were interrupting a private party but before we had an opportunity to leave the entire bar was yelling hely and welcome and sit here, sit at the bar, we had no idea what was going on. Then a handsome and charming gent walked up and asked us our name, he then introduced us to the entire bar one patron at a time. From that point on we were Engaged in an uproarious series of interesting conversation, music reviews, movie discussion and lots and lots of wine drinking. Somehow during the course of the night my name had changed from chuck to Chad, the one name Floridians are ashamed of... we really enjoyed our time at the olive grove, seriously we think we may have found a place to be regulars! Finally...More

Sylvia and Mitch are the best hosts in town! Have you seen it since they renovated this past summer? It's awesome! Homey, like the bar in Cheers! We always enjoy going there for a pre-theater glass of wine!

We set up a private meal at the Olive Grove and it was fantastic. We learned how to make risotto gnocchi and it was our main dish. Sylvia is very attention to detail oriented and made sure we were comfortable and left stuffed after a...3 course meal paired with wine. Highly recommend.More

We recently visited the Olive Grove to celebrate a birthday and had an amazing time. Sylvia and Mitch made the evening very special from the first glass of wine to ending the evening with some bubbly and a fabulous dessert. It felt like we were...being entertained in their own home. I can’t say enough about the homemade food that was prepared for us except that it was amazing. The meatballs and polenta were spot on. Every course was also perfectly paired with an excellent wine choice. In addition to the meal Sylvia and Mitch were so informative about the origin of the olive oils and wines they served our group. It was a truly a very unique experience and so The Olive Grove will definitely be a must do every time we visit Venice. If you are looking for a relaxed evening to spend with friends drinking good wine and enjoying a good meal then visit Mitch and Sylvia. They take great pride in their business and making their customers feel like friends.More

Pure Olive oil, Balsamic, bread, wine, spinach &cheese strata, wine, cheeses, wine, prosciutto cups with white bean bruschetta, wine, meatballs with polenta and sauce, wine, Panna cotta and more wine... this sums up an amazing and unique dining experience that Sylvia and Mitch graciously prepared,...hosted and educated us with. The most special birthday experience ever shared with friends and wonderful hosts. The food was delicious with each plate paired with a wine. You know immediately that Sylvia and Mitch put everything into sharing their knowledge and bringing you a dining experience like no other. Can't wait to do it again. Stop in their very unique shop and talk with them. You will leave with some knowledge and perhaps some very good olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, wine and salt. So worth it. Thank you again Sylvia and MitchMore

At the historic Venice Mall that was once the Kentucky Military Institutes Winter home, is this wonderful spot for exquisite olive oil, wines and even coffee. They will make dinner upon request and it was over the top as well. We always stop in to...the Olive Grove when we visit Venice. New location by the eastern part of the mall. The owners are friendly, welcoming, and informative.More

I feel like I'm back in an Italian cafe when I drink the coffee or espresso from BlackGold. This isn't your average coffee shop. The delicious coffee's are roasted in a huge roaster right on the premises in a section of the restaurant to view...& smell. Coffee's are from around the world, & there's a wonderful breakfast & lunch menu. Everything I've ordered has been fresh, & delicious. Try any of the daily soup specials & especially my favorite the Brie, ham & green apple panini. To die for! There's also handmade artistically designed truffles that are hard to resist, especially with a cappuccino. Make a point to stop in on a Thursday morning when they roast the beans, to observe the process. These young entrepreneur's live & breath coffee, & are doing it right! Ask them about the different coffee's, origins, & processing, it's an education. BlackGold's my new addiction.More
