Went to try a pupusa and was not disappointed. Food is cheap and delicious. Staff are friendly. Worth a visit.

When I’m in town I always like to try different Latin American foods so well as I was searching this is a place that came up when I was searching for El Salvadoran food. This is right off the main road they have some parking...there as soon as you walk in it’s a very low-key restaurant the rest take out but it’s mainly for sit down eating. The inside the core is very authentic the service was great and it has a pretty good size menu I ended up getting steak onion beans and rice and the food was excellent. This is definitely worth the tripMore

Omg where do I start?! My husband is from El Salvador so we always search for pupusas when ever we travel. We are in town for Busch Gardens. We stopped here for dinner and ordered a variety of food. We had tamales, pupusas, pasteles.... My...husband also asked for Horchata and they had “like the real stuff you get on the street in El Salvador”. Everything was made quick and was absolutely delicious. This review is coming from a gringa, but my husband was super happy with everything! We might have to hit them up before we head back home! Oh and my husband said I needed to add their prices are very reasonable as well!More

I've been here a bunch of times even though it's a bit far. The fact that I go out of my way to eat here should give you an idea of how much I like it. I mainly get cheese pupusas. In all honesty, pupusas...are all I want. I can't say much about the rest of the food since I've never had it, but I do know they have tamales, loroco, chicharrón, bistec, etc. In case you have no idea what a pupusa is - it's a corn tortilla with a filling on the inside (cheese, bean, chicken, etc). Price isn't bad, though you can end up with a high bill if you're greedy (Like me!). It is usually packed so I order to go. Be careful when diving in; there's not a lot of parking and MLK can have high traffic. You don't need to order in Spanish but knowing a bit would make everything easier. Also, try to eat it as soon as you can. Or warm the pupusas in the microwave. Eating it while the inside is still hot makes a huge difference.More

I love the baladas. They were delish as well as the cheese pupusa. I want to say that the beans were bag beans and not made in house which was a bit of a disappointment but I love the bagged "already refried" beans as well....Portion sizes were good.More

I was looking for authentic Pupusas in the Tampa area until I found Pupuseria Centroamerica. The waiter was very friendly, the pupusas very fresh, I love the cheese and chicharron pupusas. The horchata and the salvadorian tamal very fresh as well. I would go back...to this restaurant when in the area. Highly recommended.More

I have eaten at many pupuserias and honestly the food has all been similar. It's always been great. Same story here. The one thing that bothered me was the fact that they had the Hispanic news on which really is no problem other than my...6 year old was with us. They were showing bullet ridden bodies with just the face blurred out and a dog being thrown in a bbq and kicked over a cliff. All of this is bad but if I was alone or my son wasn't here than whatever. I can look away and not care. Well my son started asking questions about what was on. So I told him to look away and not worry about it and we asked the waitress of they could please put sports on or something else so this stuff wouldn't be on in front of my son. Long and short of it they said no. Oh and if you say well why didn't you switch seats? There's a tv in front and behind. No matter where you sit there's a tv. That's my only complaint. They maybe should consider their younger guests a bit more.More

My mother is from El Salvador and I grew up going. I hate to give this place too much publicity because it is a hidden gem for me and I would life for it to stay that way. In the spirit of spreading the gospel...of PUPUSAS please go and try it! You can't go wrong with any combination of cheese, beans, or pork pupusas. How this has not blown up here in the states I do not know. Pupusas are big in NY and DC and this small place in Tampa rivals those. It is almost as if this place was plucked out of San Salvador and placed in Tampa! Enjoy!More

I researched tamales in Tampa prior to coming here and found several reviews recommending this restaurant. I was not disappointed. I was looking for a certain type of tamale and found it! The tamales are made Salvadorian style..with huge pieces of chicken..potatoes and olives wrapped...in plantain leaves. We tried several other dishes also and they were all tasty and inexpensive. My husband enjoys this place because the food is flavorful but not spicy (unless you ask). The place is small and filled with locals and lots of character. The owner and staff were very nice, polite and accomodating. They speak Spanish and English.More

My wife and I visit Tampa often to see family. This is one of our favorite places to go when we come down. The food is just like you would get in Honduras or other Central American countries. I love their breakfast in particular. They...have a whole fried plantain, slice through the middle and filled with refried beans and topped with crema and cheese. It's so good! If you're up for some amazing food, or looking for a new experience, this is a great place to try.More
