Good stuff: Sandwich, speed and politeness of service, reasonable price, many pastry options Bad stuff: location is a bit out of the way, underwhelmed by the dessert I came here for the Cuban sandwich. Definitely do that - it is large, good, and reasonably priced....This Cuban comes with plenty of meat and all of it is good. As far as this Cuban vs the Columbia’s, it’s close. This one is meatier - Columbias has more of the mustard and pickle flavor with it. I also picked up a dessert - German chocolate cake. I was underwhelmed. The cake itself was really dry and crumbly. The topping portion was very good though. If you’re on the fence in this dessert, I would recommend something else. The staff was friendly, helpful, and pretty fast. They clearly have a process for handling the lunch rush down. Overall, definitely check it out and get a Cuban sandwich.More

This place is amazing and authentic. One of the oldest , if not the oldest cuban bakery in the country. You cant beat the fresh bread, so light and flakey. They have sandwiches and pastries to die for. Plus lots of other sweets. If your...in ybor city , this place is a must do.More

I ordered cortadito and toast with butter. It was $6, on the high side compared with Miami area. Coffee was just ok, toast in the other hand was fabulous. They have a bug counter with delicious pastries and two people preparing cookies, pastries.

About a 10 minute walk from the trolley station to the bakery. Ordered the cuban sandwich, it was HUGE, enough for two of us to share and so delicious! Also picked up some pastries, which were very good too. You can order online and pick...up, I would suggest doing that if you go during lunch time. We waited about 10 minutes for our order to be ready.More

The cuban bread was delicious! It was perfectly crusty, chewy, soft and soft at the same time. The breakfast sandwich was fine, with eggs and jalapeno you cannot go wrong. But some kind of sauce would have been nice. The sandwich felt a little dry....The cafe con leche was good. The star of the show as mentioned by a lot of other reviewers as well was the Guava Pastry. We got the one without cheese and it was perfection. It was not overly sweet, flaky crust and melted in our mouth. The service was nice even though they were busy. My only complaint is that there is no seating inside or outside. I wish they would create a space where we can sit and enjoy the goodies.More

I read about this local bakery as I was doing my research for Tampa. We were staying in Downtown Tampa and took the trolley to Ybor City. We found our way to La Segundo Bakery to try the Cuban sandwiches for ourselves. They are a...must! Best I have ever had. Keep in mind they are very large and can feed two. The only downside to this local bakery was they did not have restrooms and nowhere to eat your sandwiches.More

Took the streetcar from downtown and got off at exit 3 and it was about a .5 mile walk to the restaurant. My wife introduced me to great Latino bakeries in Hoboken but this was so much better. The Cuban was excellent and packed with...meat. My DD got the quesito and was equally impressed. Worth the walk.More

La Segunda Central Bakery has been a staple for surrounding restaurants, providing them with fresh baked Cuban bread, for years. The general public are always welcome, to purchase fresh pastries, bread, sandwiches, and much more. Parking is limited, but not impossible. Cash or credit, with...friendly service. Hope this is helpful, for your first visit.More

The breakfast sandwich with chorizo meat was tasty, but guava flip was a big disappointment, coffee was good, all in all it was tasty. I ordered the guava flip with cheese and got the plain one , but disappointment there.

This place has excellent food. However, DO NOT order on line and expect your order to be right - or ready!!! I dont know what has happened lately, but this is the second time on a month they have messed up our call in order....Today we had order a scachatta for a party that was promosed at noon. It is now 12:42 and I am still waiting. They keep telling me 10 more minutes?!?!?What do you do when you cant pick up your items for a party? I’m done. Go to Alessi!More
