Got to the table and after a half hour waiter took drink orders. After another half hour I waived waiter down and said we are ready to order. He responded he had other guests. Guess our table of 10 wasn't. Ordered and food came fairly fast. Told waiter I didn't get my rice. He said kitchen does that a lot... More

Thank you for choosing to dine with us. We appreciate you sharing these details about the lack of service you experienced so that we can use them for improvements. Our servers go through a rigorous training process in learning about how we expect them to care for our guests, but unfortunately your server let you and your friends down on... More

I visited the Columbia for the first time back in the summer of 2010. My wife knew about it from her travels and wanted me too try it. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful building interior, definitely walk around before or after your meal. After the first meal there I was hooked. The summer of 2015, my wife... More

We walked in, it was very loud, many people in hallway waiting. I looked inside, only three tables was used by customers, the rest empty! Dark inside. Decor is glamorous! We went to the bar. Again- tables around empty, no seats at the bar, all chairs taken. Lots of people standing at the door, the noise level is so loud,... More

Had Christmas dinner here and it was absolutely amazing. I had the combo plate because I wanted to try a little of everything and I'm so glad I did. Yummy. Don't miss out on this historical Tampa restaurant.

The servers and food truly make this a memorable experience. Tampa has alot of restaurants but this has to be one of the Top 10. The food presentation and the service is the best in the industry. We were highly please with both

The architecture alone makes this restaurant a must see when in Tampa. Makes you feel like you are in Spain. Best black beans & rice you will ever have. Splurge on dessert and have the key lime pie... you won't regret it. Wait staff could not have been more pleasant. Wish we were here during their dance time. Will make... More

People have talked about the Columbia for years but this is the first time that I was able to make it - I should have sooner. A good variety of dining experiences and great food!

We have been to this place the last two visits to Tampa and I LOVE it. I'm pretty picky about food. They have a gluten free menu. I at their original 1905 salad and Pollo Asado and loved both. Also their Sangria is great. My husband and I spent three weeks in Spain and this food wasn't exact, but it's... More

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
