First time ever to this landmark... What a cool, funky place this is! We came to catch opening act Joose and headliner, Come Back Alice perform and man, we were not disappointed! Both groups are so darned talented and what a great way to to hang with friends outdoors under the oak trees with the stars in the sky twinkling... More

I came there a few weeks ago to hear a long time favorite musical group, The Dry Branch Fire Squad bluegrass bad. I don't know how the heck I missed this place before this--but sure glad I found it now---both to get some good food and to hear bands and individual musical artists playing my favorite types of music that... During my trip in Florida with my boyfriend we decided to try the alligator tails, so, looking online we found this place. Really cool! We order the devil crab, clam chowder - so, so good - fried gator tails, raw and steamed oysters and finally the famous blackered grouper sandwich ( saw on Adam Richman's Best Sandwichin America ) Friendly... Our family insisted that we visit Skippers on a recent trip to Tampa. The outside is... colourful. If you're looking for fancy this isn't it. However, if you are after a good time and great prices this is perfect. We had a blast! Staff were great and the food was really good. The place was absolutely packed; happy hour prices... More

The atmosphere is laid back, the staff friendly, the food is tasty and the music is incredible! I also love that they support my favorite radio station, WMNF.

Under the oaks sits this amazing rustic, funky Florida restaurant and live music venue. Fresh seafood abounds, such as the famed Blackened Grouper Rueben, as seen on the Travel Channel's "Best Sandwich in America". Other eats include Smoked Gator Ribs and Snow Crab Legs. Picnic tables greet you as you take in the terrific live music six nights a week,... More

Now celebrating 34 smokin' years, this venerable Tampa Bay landmark was purchased by three Air Force buddies in 1980 who met while stationed in Alaska and presumably sought to get as far away from the frozen tundra as possible. In the years since, Skipper's has grown from a small smokehouse takeout operation with a casual Sunday jam to a full-service restaurant and much-loved purveyor of world-class music. The architecture is a smorgasbord of "cracker" and islandy-Key West styles with overturned boats, wooden walkways, large murals dot the landscape while artfully rusted walls contain the sounds of revelry. In the Oyster Bar, a vintage moonshine still hangs over the bar while in the dining room, weathered posters tinted by neon lights add varying hues of color and atmosphere.
