Had the chance to try Konan's at a recent event at my kid's school. The BBQ was fantastic! I recommend the ribs, sausage, chicken and the mac&cheese. The owner was very nice and friendly. Will definitely be back!!!!

I walked here from a nearby hotel to pickup lunch. You can smell the smoke blocks away. This was some wonderful barbecue where you could taste the smoke and the slightly spicy sauce was terrific. I got the sausage and chopped pork and both were...outstanding. Good choice of sides. I’d stick with the Mac-and-cheese but maybe try the green beans instead of collards next time. No complaints from me. Wonderful family run place with lots of friendly workers. Fair prices for big portions.More

I found this place on yelp, when we driving and my Waze told me to turn right to the Neighborhood with all the single family homes, and than we saw Konan’s, honestly speaking I wasn’t sure that we should go inside as it looked like...this place is closed,but we saw that smoker is cooking, so figured that place is open. It was first time for us at Konan’s, so we wasn’t sure what to order, but the stuff was very helpful and gave us suggestions. Everything we got was great, it was suppose to be our lunch, but we got so much food that it ended up being our dinnerMore

We walked a few blocks from our hotel to this neighborhood gem. Very reasonably priced, but some of the best bbq chicken and potato salad I have had. It was close to their closing so we took the food back to our hotel where the...great smells had many people asking where we had gotten the food.More

Don’t be fooled by the exterior if you want down home southern cooking. We were greeted by a very nice lady who we believe is the owner. When she heard it was our first time we received her own home brew pineapple tea. My wife...loved it. She took our order and the food was outstanding. The young men behind the counter were very nice and professional. I ordered the Half Chicken with baked beans and Mac n cheese and my wife ordered a half....yes that’s a half club of ribs with collared greens and Mac and cheese. We absolutely will be back for some more of this fabulous bbq.More

I didn't like my barbecue rib dinner because there was too much fat on the bones. My girlfriend got a half slab and her's was much leaner. Fresh collards good, potato salad good. If U R salt sensitive, I don't think this is the place...for U. There was an orange looking BBQ sauce that was smeared on the meat. They didn't ask me whether I wanted it on there or not. This was my first visit.I am dx with hbp and I won't be returning. They were out of deserts @ 2:45 pm.no corn bread and ribs sitting on top of white bread. Not my eating style. So this inexpensive dinner didn't work for me. However, parking lot had people coming and going.So if U have a discerning taste, order half rib rack along with sides and ask which sides R fresh and which ones R canned Also ask about salt content if U R salt sensitive. The Meat is tasty, tender and not overcooked. It has very little fat and is very lean. The sauce is the best I've had in a long time.

On my recent visit to Tampa on a friends and family trip a group of 11 of us visited Konan's BBQ. The reviews were good so we figured we would give it a try. Knowing that Texas has the best bbq we still wanted to...see what this place was all about. We were pleasantly surprised by the ribs and ALL the sides. Special shout out to whoever does the mac & cheese and rice. All the staff were very welcoming and joked with us about who has he best bbq lol. They also host a first Friday event which offered outdoor entertainment, dj, tables and drinks. We had an outstanding time at Konan's and were blown away by there dedication to service and quality bbq. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone seeking some good bbq in Tampa.More

I should have known better. We went to Konan’s a couple hours after a Bucs home game. While they said they had been super-busy earlier, there were just a few people around when we arrived. Nevertheless, the staff seemed disorganized and it took almost 40...minutes to get our food. Fortunately, once we got it, it was mostly delicious. The chicken breast was tender, the rib ends had the right amount of chew and the pulled pork was tender and not too fatty. The mustard-based bbq sauce was really tasty, although I would have preferred it if they had given me a choice of sauces. The sides were a little less successful. Unfortunately, they had run out of collards—usually a great accompaniment to bbq. The green beans were good but could have used a little pepper sauce for a kick. The cole slaw tasted like it was directly out of a big jug from Costco. I would go again to enjoy the meats but I would try different sides. And I wouldn’t go after a Bucs game.More

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 totally 10 stars, 5 just isn’t enough. Found this gem by searching TripAdvisor, so glad we went y’all! We were in town for 1 night before going on a cruise for our Anniversary. We are foodies at heart and love trying the hole in...the wall places that the locals go to. This place is in the middle of a neighborhood that the average out of town person may feel uncomfortable in 🤷🏼‍♀️ but everyone was super nice😁. We got the 2 meat plate with white meat chicken and chopped BBQ, Mac & Cheese and the most amazing Collard Greens I have ever had, they had to be smoked on the smoker with the meat. When they found out we were from out of town they gave us the house special drink at no charge...Pineapple Sweet Tea (yummo)! When they found out we were from NC they threw in a couple of Ribs to try. The sauce is a sweet & tangy mustard base and out of this world, get it on the meat and get a side of it for dipping. Huge portions, 2 of us had plenty off of one plate. We will go here every time we are in town and recommend it to our friends and family that cruise or visit Tampa. This is how BBQ should be done!More
