Since they reopened, everything has changed. The Som Tom was not fresh, and the mango and sticky rice appeared old. Food is very limited. Not worth the hour drive anymore.

We were very excited to go since we have not been there in over 2 years. We got there shortly after 8 AM. We were third in line. There was no cooking seen while we were in line. We ordered using pictures on a bulletin...board. I asked for the drinking water and I was told ghat there was none so I had to buy bottled water. We sat by the table in the back. On our way to the table, we saw iced water, coffee and condiments - all free. Our Pad Thai was not noodles but soup with coconut milk snd curry. The rice was hard and cold. It was old. The meatballs were not good. The egg rolls were cold and hard with very small filling of vegetables (?) the small sesame balls were very greasy with watery filling of sweet beans. They did not have any plants for sale anymore. The catfish in the water at the back of our table liked the food better than we did. We will not be back.More

It was nice to make a Sunday visit. You order up front, wait with everyone, and pay when you get your food. We sat at the tables overlooking the water. They have coffee, water and a microwave. Need the microwave as food was not hot....Recommend you take it home to heat up, or do like us and sit out and enjoy the morning.More

I took my granddaughter here for a birthday meal as she loves Asian food. Because of the Pandemic you must order in your car and then drive up to a delivery point. Also, you must pay in cash. We arrived around 11 and the line...moved quickly. We ordered lots of food: soup, Pad Thai, chicken curry over rice, beef and chicken rolls, mango sticky rice and fried bananas. We parked and carried our food over to a picnic table overlooking the Palm River. It was a cool day, so by the time we got to the fried bananas they were not at all warm. Our favorites were the Pad Thai and the curry. The rolls were a disappointment and also not at all warm. The soup was excellent. I'm sure the food will improve once the market stalls are allowed to open again. We strolled the grounds and visited the temple, but did not hang around to see the monks. A sign on the temple indicated the 1 pm service would be private, although the website indicated it was open to the public. The grounds are lovely, with orchids and bromeliads hanging on or growing around many of the trees that shade the picnic area. Overall, the visit was a chance to transport ourselves briefly to another world. And with all the food we purchased, left-overs enough to last through the next day or two.More

We went here to try Authentic Thai food. I would suggest trying a few things and sharing each item because we did not care for some of it. We also tried the Thai iced tea and it was really unique and interesting. We love finding...new places to try and I would go back here to try other things. I suggest trying the Ruam Mit as a dessert if they have it that day. It was really good. Odd ,but surprisingly really good.More

We didn't go here before the pandemic, so maybe it was better before it was just drive through. There is a limited selection of items, some not even Thai food, empanadas and Crab Rangoon are not Thai food at all.. We ordered the Pad Thai,...two orders of Shrimp Spring Rolls, and the mango with sticky rice. The Pad Thai was too sweet and greasy even for a dish that most Thai people don't usually eat. The Shrimp Rolls were pretty much flavorless. The mango with sticky rice was good, however. Again, maybe it's just because of the situation, but my wife is from Thailand and she didn't enjoy the food at all and neither did I. The people working there are all very nice and that's the only reason we gave it two out of five instead of just one. We'll try again after the pandemic is over and they are fully open. But as for now, this is not good Thai food. I'm not trying to be mean-spirited and I have nothing against anybody there, but that's just how it is.More

So excited they’re back open on Sundays with a drive thru! Limited menu items from the usual Sunday market, but well worth the visit. They had pad Thai, soups (beef, pork, and veggie options), fresh rolls (shrimp, chicken, and veggie options), crab Rangoon’s, Thai iced...tea, etc. Everybody working there is extremely helpful, kind, and happy. It’s a must do if you’re in the Tampa area!More

Heads up, the Sunday morning market is currently closed! We tried to stop in this morning and they had signs everywhere that they were currently closed. Everyone was as nice as could be and they let us walk around the beautiful grounds but the market...is closed until further notice.More

This was my first time visiting the Sunday Market on the Thai Temple grounds. What a wonderful experience! I was quite blown away by what they have to offer in the way of Thai food, plants, scenery, and just the pure peacefulness experienced when walking...by the river. I met my Yelp friend, her husband, coworker, and the famous Mocha Coconut (who is the most gentle and very photogenic doggy ever). I had great company and the weather was fantastic. What more can I say? Oh right, the food was absolutely delicious! I didn't get to take pictures of all the food that we shared. Mainly because we were too focused on eating it. The Thai pork noodle soup was exactly what I hoped it would be. It was savory and had so much flavor. They have an area with chili pepper paste, spice, pickled jalapenos, fish sauce, and other additions to make it spicier if needed. It's totally worth standing in that long line. It moves pretty fast. We also shared the mango sticky rice, chicken satay with peanut sauce, and fried bananas. All of it was very good. The fried bananas were my second favorite (after the noodle soup). I ate the leftover bananas on the way home. I honestly can't wait to go back to try more food items. I also bought some blue trumpet vine tea (or Rang Jued) which is said to have many benefits. There were also many types of fruit and vegetables as well as plants and orchids for sale. My only advice would be to come early. It all starts at 8:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm. The food is pretty much gone by noon. The earlier you get there the better. There are plenty of picnic benches for everyone. Most of them are under shade trees. Oh, and don't forget to bring cash. No other form of payment is accepted at this market. It's a great place to bring visiting friends and family, or just to meet up with old and new friends. Highly recommended!More

The temple is only open on Sunday mornings. We arrived around 8.30 am and parking was easy. We went straight to the L-shaped verandah where food is served and joined the line for soup with noodles. It took about 20 minutes to be served, which...was no hardship as the serene calm of the waiting customers was pleasant and it was great watching the Thai people preparing food in the kitchen. Once served, there was a good choice of picnic tables in the garden facing the river. The flavour of the soup was out-of-this-world wonderful. After eating we strolled around the other market stalls, visited the temple and spent time in the peaceful grounds. An excellent few hours' visit and probably the highlight of our vacation.More

Went for my birthday as I enjoy Asian culture and food. We arrived at 9 am and got a great parking spot. The property is serene and situated on the water. Temple is extremely well maintained and very beautiful. We waited in line for 40...minutes for the soup, but it was worth it. There was plenty of seating snd for the size of the crowd, well managed. Could have skipped the fried bananas and root veggies. They were very greasy. The coconut custard and empanadas were delicious. We more than satisfied our appetites for less than $30 and took some home. My favorite was lighting insence at the gold Buddah near the entrance to the food building.More

This a fun experience and a very good lunch. Go very early. All the  foods are all for sale in a L shaped building that is sort of open and sort of a tent. As you first enter there are items  for the monks at...the temple service( which is optional to attend) and then the various food tables. These are worth checking out later but rush to the end and get in the soup line. It can be hundreds of people long and slow moving. The soup has a basis structure of broth and lots of options: large or small, types of noodles, and meats or vegetarian.  While waiting for the soup it would be good if one of your party selected and sat at a picnic table as they fill up fast and  other stands for dumplings, egg rolls, curry, desserts, drinks and lots more.   Its a feast worth trying.   More

What a gorgeous place - and the food.... OH the food! So many choices!! Be sure to walk around first and see all the choices before making a decision. We ended up with curry over rice and veggies over fried rice. Delish - I could...eat that curry every week! And it's beautiful there... Bring cash, be prepared to wait in lines for food and enjoy some time by the river...More

Heard about this place through the grapevine and man were we happy we tried it. Get there early because parking and food lines can get very crazy. We waited for 45 minutes in the curry and Pad Thai line. They were out of Pad Thai...but the curried everything was worth the wait and more. Don’t go there expecting Michelin star thai food. This is home cooking at its best. I didn’t get to try the noodle soup on this trip but we will be back. If you go, split up. One person should get in the curry or soup line, and the other should hit the shorter lines for spring rolls or dessert or whatever. Seating is communal picnic tables right on the water, so plan accordingly.More
