Our Tortillas are Handmade every day to provide you that authentic experience as if you were in Mexico. . Don Julio’s uses the freshest ingredients for our authentic specialties such as Bistec Ranchero, Pollo a La Plancha, Carnitas and our Fajitas. Our Tamales are also available everyday. You can finish your meal with a delicious dessert of Churros accompanied with a caramel, chocolate or lechera dip. Other desserts include Helado Mexicano (Fried Ice Cream), Choco Banana, Sopapillas, Arroz Con Leche and more. We also offer kids meals such as Quesadillas, tacos, soup, chicken fingers and French fries. Saturdays we also offer Brunch such as Huevos con Chorizo, Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquiles and more. I never knew this restaurant was within walking distance from me, so trying to use a $25 gift certificate I came here. Now, I'm very fond of Mexican food and I had to try the Michelada which was...very tasty! The service here was great and the food ok. But being that I went solo(and felt awkward) I ordered a service to take home for my daughter(who didn't want to join me).
Don't get me wrong it's an excellent place(the authentic mexican music they play is beautiful) but it's best to come with a big party, or just sit at the bar having a great Michelada.

We were in the neighborhood to have pizza but restaurant was closed. This Mexican restaurant was next door and open. We had chips, salsa and queso for starters and burrito and tacos as our entree. It was just okay. Nothing special and nothing to draw us back for a second visit.

The cuban was really good, but our other items were just average, hence the 3 stars. Service was good and it was very clean and pleasant environment.

We ordered from Uber eats when the food was delivered we received only 1/2 of the order. On the receipt a handwritten note stated sorry we are out of these items. However we we still charged full price. I called the restaurant and was told sorry call Uber. Have filed a complaint and disputed the charge with my bank. Very poor form they should have called Uber and made the change. Never again!

Looked for a non-chain Mexican restaurant, and Don Julio's was the closest. After reading the existing reviews, we thought it would be worth the trip. So glad that we did. It was early, about 11:30, so there were no other customers other than those collecting "to go" orders. Very clean facility with incredibly fast service, and delightful food. My husband's go to bench mark is a Chicken Chimichanga, which he said was one of the best he had ever had. I had a taco salad with ground beef, which was small, but very tasty. When we are in the area again, we will go back. Very nice experience.

Server didn’t understand anything I said. Got whole order wrong, I didn’t even want my food remade bc I had to go to work, but left a google review bc there was no manager to talk to. The whole review reply is them trying to “check me” and full of lies! Your business is going downhill and you don’t seem to care!!! If you are not Spanish speaking they are going to mess up your order and not apologize and try to make it seem like you should be ok. Found a bay leaf in my toddlers taco and that’s supposed to be garnish but he bit into it and it was gross! Go feed that slop to your kids!

Best Mexican cusine in north Tampa. The red enchiladas were authentic and the best we have had anywhere. The nachos with grilled chicken and tacos were also awesome. The service by Lizbeth was excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

My wife and me were in Tampa for a doctor appointment and Googled for a Mexican restaurant nearby (5 miles). This was the only nearby place to go. Our server, Natalia, was friendly. All the pages of the six page menu looked the same, very confusing. Everything on the menu was overpriced, some "specials" cost more than $25 to $30.
They call this an authentic Mexican restaurant, authentically over-priced and the only exceptional item on the table was the salsa. They put chips and salsa on the table before we received the menus, which said one basket of chips and salsa came with the dinner, but, if you wanted more you had to pay for them. The salsa was spicy and tasty, but came in a minuscule container. The chips were tasteless and stale.
We ordered two servings of enchiladas suizas for $14.99 each with three cheese enchiladas, fried rice and beans. The plate was not worth half the price, the beans were canned, the rice was cold and overcooked, while the enchiladas were tasteless.
We go to Tampa often to doctor appointments but will avoid this restaurant in the future.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE. FOOD TOOK FOR EVER AND WHEN IT WAS SERVED TO THE TABLE THEY GOT THE WRONG DITCH. MANAGMENT DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE MISTAKE.
I ORDERED STEAK FAJITAS AND THEY SERVER CHICKEN FAJITAS MORE THAN 30 MINUTES LATE. RESTAURANT WAS NOT BUSY, VERY FEW CUSTOMERS.

This is one of two very best Mexican restaurants I have tried in my 70 years. The other was in Lakeland and went out of business. Everything we had - Carnitas Don Julio (slow cooked and fried pork), refried beans, rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, flan, arroz con leche (rice pudding) - ALL WERE EXCEPTIONAL!!! The pork was the best I have eaten - ever! It was crisp on the outside but melt-in-your-mouth on the inside. My mouth waters just thinking about it. We got curbside to go and the personnel we interacted with through that were absolutely the most pleasant people. This will be our go-to place when we’re hungry for Mexican cuisine. LOVE IT!!! Do yourself a big favor and try it.

I am a Mexican food lover and don’t live in the area and this is hands down the best And most authentic Mexican I have ever had! It was amazing! If you are looking for homemade true blue Mexican don’t go anywhere else! The Tamales, soup and Chimichanga we loved! We literally were shocked when the most adorable “abuela” meaning grandma came out of the kitchen so we could thank you! Doesn’t get any better than this folks! We will be back every time we visit!

Not my choice in the future! Quality was lacking, broth and chicken in the expensive soup! Don’t waste your time on it!
Other dishes were poorly prepared and one lacked any meat or cheese! Swapped it for a chicken quesadilla which was very bland as well!
All appearance and no quality.

We were looking for an Authentic Mexican restaurant to enjoy with family who were visiting the North Tampa area. We chose Don Julio's from the internet listings. The restaurant is a small family restaurant that provides exactly what we were looking for. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. There was plenty of parking and our guests said they definitely wanted to return again before they returned home.
