…and everything was still piping hot when we arrived home. My husband got the combo platter and the smoked sausage, brisket and pulled pork were all excellent - tasty and tender. I had the hamburger and it was cooked as ordered. The fries were delicious. Nicely done!

Absolutely fabulous ribs! St. Louis ribs perfectly smoked and so delicious. The sauce selection is tasty too. Served with garlic bread and I added a side baked beans which may be the best I’ve had. Can’t wait to return.

This was the 3rd location that we have visited! WJ does not disappoint! I get the pulled pork platter with French fries and it is delicious. The pork doesn’t really need sauce but I’m there for the sauce!! Their sauces are delicious!! My husband got the brisket and it was a tad overcooked but the beans and slaw were delicious!
What strikes me about all three visits is the friendliness of the staff! I will continue to return when I am traveling nearby!!

This restaurant has always been my favorite, barbecue go to for many years. Just this week when I went there, I learned by the posting of a sign on the door with three words, “sorry permanently closed”. now the closest Willie Jewels to me is 49 minutes away.

We had brisket and smoked turkey...out of this world delicious! Sides were okra, cole slaw, and baked beans and they were just as tasty!

Tried for first time and were very satisfied not only with the beef brisket , but their sweet potato fries and macaroni & cheese were very good. Can’t wait to go back for their pulled pork since it wasn’t available today.

Ordered Uber Eats, impressive very pleased with the food and flavor. I used to live here so I would say it’s up there in the BBQ in the area.

Despondent over the recent closing of Sonny’s BBQ in north Tampa my husband and I decided to try Willie Jewell’s. We were happy to find our new favorite place! We tried a little of everything; ribs, chicken, pulled pork and 4 different sides. We couldn’t find fault with anything. Yum!

I have eaten at most of the bbq places around Tampa. This is one of the best. The pork was tender and juicy. A friend had brisket and said it was the best he's had. The baked beans were good with lots of meat in them. Cole slaw was a little dry but tasted good. I will be going back soon.

So enjoy the southern BBQ places!
I had the St Louis ribs with the hickory sauce they were very good, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth good. The roast corn was good and hot, a little too buttery for me. The green beans had been cooked too long, so will have something different next time.

We had seen an ad at the AMC Veterans just prior to an early Dinner Saturday .My wife had a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and fries . I had a half rack of St Louis Ribs with baked beans and Mac-n Cheese . My ribs were pretty dry and very salty . The Mac n Cheese was beyond cooked , it had no texture at all . Neither of us finished our baked beans , they were more like soup .All of the employees were polite and friendly , but over all , they didn’t give us a reason to return

Eight of us visited Willie Jewell’s Old School Bar-B-Q on a Tuesday evening around 6. The place was not very busy so we got a table and checked the menus. Throughout the meal the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. On a friend’s recommendation, I ordered the beef brisket platter with sides of beans, potato salad, and bread. I thought the brisket was very dry, the potato salad was ordinary at best but the beans were delicious. Two others ordered the pulled pork sandwiches. They both said they were OK. One also ordered onion rings which were nice and hot and I thought tasted very good.
That evening both my wife and I thought the food felt very heavy in our stomachs and had indigestion that lasted quite a will. The next day another couple said that had the same problem with indigestion.
There was a lot of take out activity while we were there so I guess folks like it. Overall three couples were not that impressed with the food. The beer was nice and cold so that was good and the staff was really nice and helpful. However, I think I will continue visit 4 Rivers Smokehouse for good Bar-B-Q.

I have been to this restaurant several times since and each time we have enjoyed the fried okra and smoked wings w/o sauce as appetizer. Entree, we have ordered the chicken and or the brisket. We have lived in Texas and know brisket. For Florida, this is about as close as we will easily be able to get. I like that they sell it as as salad topper, sandwich, dinner and be the pound. The only thing not so stellar was the sausage. The sides vary. Also try the grape lemonade, tea sweet or not and soda. Highly recommend this place

Lots of bbq places have popped up around Tampa in the past few years and some are better at certain meats than than others but WJ’s does well at all. I had the 3 meat combo, Ribs, pulled pork and brisket. All were equally good. They were nice enough to give me a taste of the sausage which was excellent and will have on my next trip. The sauces are served “hot” with a choice of 4. Mustard based, sweet, Smokey and hot. All very good. Did a custom mix of hot with the sweet and was great. Great choice of sides. Loved the baked beans and if you like hush puppies don’t miss these. All and all really enjoyed it and if you are in a hurry they also have a drive through.
