Listed as a Vietnamese restaurant, the menu touches on the French colonial days offering both traditional French dishes, such as VICHYSSOISE and Asian dishes such as TAI CHANH (beef or tuna). We sat in the garden area (a bit noisy next to MacDill), but were...intrigued by the gossamer cloth partitions that separated the inside tables. We understand these were added for COVID safety, but think they add an exotic touch to the interior. The food quality was very good and the presentation of the dishes was some of the best we've ever seen at much more expensive restaurants in New York and London. We'll be back.More

What a lovely surprise Restaurant BT was for us tonight. We chose patio seating which offered plenty of fresh air and exotic surroundings reminiscent of the excitement of overseas travel yet soothing and relaxing. Inside seating at BT appeared elegant, tasteful and expansive. But aside...from BT's delightful ambience, BT's greatest offering is their heavenly food. Highly recommend the escargot appetizer which sported gigantic snails nestled under a crisp puff pastry shell and floating in a delectable sherry cream sauce. The salmon a la plancha was incredibly fresh and tasty and placed adjacent to three lobster risotto puffs all atop a julienne vegetable medley including ample amounts of bok choy, colorful peppers and crunchy celery. Sampling such foreign cuisine, made it easy to imagine I was far away dining in a romantic international setting. What a surprise to find this jewel nestled in the heart of South Tampa. Service is helpful, yet discreet. So looking forward to our next break from the ordinary and returning to this relaxing, exotic hideaway.More

There are a few BT restaurants in Tampa...even just one to go. So try them all. I went to BT in a Box...a shipping container that is on Chanelside. Great summer rolls...choice of chicken or shrimp or tofu. Fresh ingredients. Interesting sweet/sour/hot dipping sauce. You...get 2 per order. You can get a curry too. with lots of root veggies...I think I even ate a parsnip. Friendly staff.More

We came in for a romantic date night and that is what we got. By sheer coincidence we had a very early reservation because my husband got home early. If you want a very romantic experience take the 5:30pm reservation and you will be the...first there. It took about an hour for people to trickle in after that. We had a very attentive waiter, think like that of what you would experience at ta five star restaurant. The decor of the restaurant is simple and beautiful in style and aesthetic. I loved the spice wall and open space of the building. Ok, so the food is simple, fresh, and beautiful just like you would expect at Bistro BT. The steamed lobster salad was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I split it because we weren't sure how much it would end up being serving size wise. It was large enough for both of us to split and we both got the same entree which was great. My husband loved the duck burrito as the favorite of the dinner (he loves duck). Parking can be limited, the parking lot is small and there is no street parking. Dinner ended up being around 210-ish, but it was on par with what I would expect for the level of food and service we received. A lot of the menu is gluten free also. I think this place is a gem, consider it for your next date night. Its easy to miss on Macdill Ave, but its right across from Datz.More

This French Vietnamese fusion restaurant is considered to be upscale. I understand it was designed by the the owner. I was mesmerized as I walked in by the lighting and the modern décor. It is a very lovely setting with white tablecloths. We detected however...a moldy smell as we entered the very beautiful establishment. Greeted and seated by a lovely Frenchman who I believe is the maître D was a good start to the evening. The amuses bouche came quite quickly as did the appetizers. We ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls which were absolutely crispy and delicious. The beef tartare however was a different story. The presentation of this big log on a plate was a turn off. It clearly had been preprepared in advance and cut off a bigger log. The taste was okay but I would not recommend the dish. My husband had a fish as a main course which was well cooked but placed on a bed of sliced cucumber and an Oriental coleslaw. Not very refined ..and looked like diner food. My chiperrones rellenos were really difficult to eat. The stuffing consisting of shrimp crab and pork had no distinct taste and the squid was almost impossible to cut…it was so chewy…I seldom leave my food but eating this dish was a real CHALLENGE! The service was rushed. All in all, a huge disappointment! I would go back because I figure maybe we just chose the wrong dishes and maybe it was just a bad day. (God knows we all have those from time to time…)The setting was really very aesthetically appealing! So I will give it another try if they let me in after this unflattering review…More

We had not been to this location and were extremely pleased with the food selection, service and ambiance. They have a very good wine selection, and the drinks were delicious ( albeit made with sake --no liquor license). The entrees are creative and have an...Asian /French flair. Not excessively noisy. Some of the best tuna I have had anywhere!!More

Came late on a Saturday eve after a long time we haven’t been here. We came to have some drinks and desserts. It’s always nice, elegant and delicious.

Don't come here with any expectations other than a great meal. The menu is always so varied and inviting, I try whatever looks great, and it always is. Steak tartare ala BT, spring rolls that crunch, melt-in-your mouth short ribs, or a bento box. Fabulous.

The place is beautiful inside and out. Food is so unusual and so wonderful. You must have the fresh rolls and the asparagus soup made with NO CREAM.
