I wanted to enjoy this place so much after passing by it multiple times on my commutes but that is not the case. We took out of town guests here and I was embarrassed by the experience. Let me start with the few positives. The...sunset was beautiful and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand. The food was fine, nothing to write home about but good. Grouper sandwich saw huge. Cons: My gumbo had 1 piece of shrimp and 1 andouille sausage in it other wise it was all LARGE chunks of onions and peppers and okra. You HAVE to pay for parking and there is no validation to make it free, I have never seen that before. After 3pm (I think that's what time they said) there is no service outside so you have to go to the tiki bar order all your food and drinks and you get a pager for when its ready to go back up and get it. It was over an hour for food (thank goodness for playing in the sand). We waited at the bar for 15-20 minutes JUST to pay our bill. The 4 bartenders didn't make eye contact and were rather rude with everyone around us. It wasn't even that busy and the 4 of them seemed overwhelmed. They advertise happy hour on their menu BUT it's only for inside, not outside. So we might go back as our little family but we won't bring out of town guests as it wasn't memorable and there were hiccups that could be fixed with some changes on the restaurants part.More

Went for a Christmas party tonight. Parked car, no issue, then attendant runs up to me and other car that parked and told us to pay $6 (yelling I might add) or leave their parking and use the beach parking. See this is going on...for at least 5 years. I've been to other Whiskey Joe's before. The food is not great, its overpriced, tacky with the shop, but this was for a Christmas party. You lost probably $100 in what you would have earned tonight. Great Job there. You might want to rethink how your employees approach paying customers. Not to mention others in my party parked the same and didn't pay anything. That was the most rude encounter I've ever had trying to enter a restaurant. Like I did something wrong? I will never be back. The excuse for the charges as I see on trip advisor in 2017 are as ignorant then as they are now. If you have an issue with beach parking, maybe address it properly. Charging your customers before they even enter the building is not how you do business. Clearly it works for you but it won't come from my pocket and hopefully this helps others avoid the same. Just go across the street, at least they won't do that there. And really, its December, no one is using your lot this time of year at this hour to use the beach. Water is cold, its dark, its a Wednesday night.More

1 Sat at table for 28 mins waiting on other guests. No water, table not wiped down, no silverware … had to ask waiter to take a drink order. He finally asked if I wanted water. Going in 31 mins and nothing but menus which...was someone else’s job.More

Touristy like a Margaritaville type of place. The food is similar to Applebees quality. We’re on vacation and we like to find great local places- so we we’re disappointed with this place. The location is great- but you can tell they were understaffed. Tables were...left dirty for a while after guests left. Our food took forever and our appetizers came out the same time as our entrees. Don’t waste your time with this place- just go for a drink and look at the water.More

Delicious meal. Fun and clean atmosphere. Good view on the water. Servers friendly. Food was slow to come out but tasted great.

We came here hoping for a nice meal. The iced tea comes out of a machine, not fresh brewed. My wife ordered grilled shrimp and it was bland and rubbery. The fish and chips was okay, nothing to write home about and the key lime...pie was not tart at all and it was rubbery also. Very slow service too. The waitress was very nice, but this is a one and done visit. Very disappointed to say the least!More

Came in a couple times, once with about 6 and then with 32 people. This place knocked it out of the park! Excellent service both times, quick to get food both times. Drinks came about quick as well but could be a bit stronger for...the price. Food price is very reasonable compared to the portion size. Excellent sunset view as a bonus! Highly recommend the gumbo, grouper and gator! I would come back for sure and highly recommend you give it a try!More

Family was looking forward to this bar for awhile, such a nice setting. Perfect setting, but disappointing. We went on a Sunday. Valet parking was $6, cover charge for the beach area was $5. Therefore, $31US before we had sat down. Then there is merchandise...which I would have purchased. We parked nearby for two hours for $1.10. These costs are ridiculous. Won't eat here again as it's the principle. Do you want us to eat here? Food wasn't memorable.More

Went in after being on the beach next door. A 25 minute wait for a table, so we went to the bar. The bartender cleared our place, and gave us menus. Waited, waited, then a long haired dude came and asked us if we needed...help. We started to order with this guy, and the original woman, said I got them. Waited, waited. Nothing. After about 40 minutes, we left. Just wanted cocktails and fish tacos. So, I really can’t review this place, because no service.More

The views are great. But they only have indoor seating as they are redoing the deck_ and patio area. The food was not good. All the fish was frozen and small in portions. I had the fish taco and only one had some Maui on...it, disappointed. They use a lot of batter and the scallops were the size of a pea. The shrimp were small in size also..baby shrimp. I would only go there for a drink as the views and beach are nice for that area.More

Food was good and so was service, but nothing to rave about. We will not go back because we had to pay $6 valet parking to dine there. Ridiculous amount of money.

My wife and I visited the Tampa Bay area, and we met my cousin and her husband here for dinner, as per their recomendation. The food was delicious, and the water of the water was so nice. It may have been difficult to get a...parking space near the restaurant, but I guess that is a good sign, because it means they do a good business.More
