We visited here on a weekday evening with our family. We live in Southwood, so it is very convenient. Food was really great on this visit and staff was very attentive. Husband and I split combo fajitas and they were awesome. Kids had tacos, other...adults with us had enchiladas and a shrimp dish. Drinks were good too that night. Definitely plan to go back!More

We live near the Southwood El Jalisco, so we've eaten here for years, and it has usually been modestly good. The new owner has really improved the atmosphere, but, even better, he's a Chef. Believe me--the food has improved dramatically. Every dish we've tried has...been balanced and prepared with great flavor profiles and excellent presentation. Our server was wonderful also, so, what's not to like?More

We visited this place first time and not disappointed. Chips and salsa was good, some other dipping sauces were tasty. I don’t like the tangy one. Service was accurate and respectful. Ordered grill chicken and three amigos, both tastes really flavourful. We asked grill jalapeños...on side and was good. Quantity and quality both are up to the expectations. I will recommend this place to try.More

EL J’S POBLANO RELLEÑO was served in a regular green bell pepper. How they justify the Poblano in the descrition is beyond me. I sent it back. The Shrimp Diablo was very tasty and the additional side of Jalepenos made it spicy enough to qualify...as Diablo-ed! The service has been either very excellent or tragic. Most times service is excellent. We will continue to visit here as it is nice to have a walking distance restaurant.More

One thing you can count on is that the food is always consistent. It may not be the very best Mexican Restaurant however the service is quick and friendly and the food is always consistent. You know what your going to get time and time...again. I'm a vegetarian and they have several options to choose from. Last time I was there I ordered Sangria and much to my surprise they were buy one get one. They were so delicious. If you want a quick dinner, in a clean and comfortable location, this would be a good choice.More

I’m a big fan of Mexican food. Unfortunately my experience here was so bad I haven’t ate Mexican food since. For starters the service was sub par. The wait was long and the food was so bland I didn’t even finish it.

It took over 30 minutes to get Queso and chips. The queso with water down and they did not want to fix it at first. It took over an hour and 45 minutes to get our meal, plus I got fajitas, but was not given...the wraps. The manager gave us “I’m sorry” but that was it. We eat there an average of twice a month. Want be headed Back anytime too soon.More

I reviewed this place back in August of 2016. I came back with my wife hoping things had gotten better as far as food, service, and the environment. Unfortunately, it all got worse. First off, there are now sections of the ceiling allowing water to...drip down to where people are sitting both at tables and at the bar. This will occur even when it is not raining as it was a bright sunny day when we went. As we looked up, we noticed that numerous areas f insulation were wet, hanging, and black. To top it all off, the staff never did anything to address the water on the tables, chairs and floors. The service and food is just as typical and lacking as it was over a year earlier. Recommendation, stay away and go somewhere else.More
