Ordered breakfast for pickup; hadn't been back to this establishment since last year, but certainly satisfied with this meal, as usual; the four of us had the blackened chicken omelette, the vegetarian delight omelette, the grit bowl with sausage and scrambled eggs, french toast, and...the corned beef hashbrowns with scrambled eggs; it was all very delicious. We had a bit of an issue with the food sliding around in the cardboard containers that we picked up, but that is ok, lol! We understand the containers are one size fits all! I was really blown away by the quality of the ingredients here - I had two items - a grilled chicken wrap and a potato salad side. The wrap was juicy and I loved the tortilla that was used. And then there was the potato...salad - from another planet. It really is so hit or miss with potato salad and this one was the creamiest, and most balanced potato salad I've ever had. Food was not presented or prepared well. Had banana bread French toast. Poor presentation. And meatatarian omelet. Poor creation. Expect more for what they charge. Best to let this Tallahassee legend retire. Just not the same. We went to Canopy Road cafe the next day....I’d recommend that over this.More

My family and I used Yelp to find a new, delicious breakfast place in Tallahassee and we came across the Uptown Cafe. We went in and as soon as stepping foot on the premise, we were greeted by the owner, and employees with a warm...smile on their face directing us to the host stand. Our intention was to run in and have something quick to eat, but because of the owner and the staff, we ended up spending two hours talking with them and really enjoying our incredible food! We enjoyed the food so much we ended up getting another meal to go to enjoy later in the day. They are known for their smoked salmon, and it had such a delicious flavor, I want to send it up to my family in New York! The owner informed us they smoke all of the salmon on site and ship it nation-wide. We are going to make the effort to go in once a week to enjoy coffee and a meal to make our day a little brighter by the staff and food.More

Owner on site, involved, takes the time to greet everyone. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We had to wait about 20 mins but they had plenty of waiting seats with free coffee. They are known for their home made banana bread and...utilize it for French toast. Also house made cinnamon rolls served warm. House made salsa tops many flavorful egg dishes. They do not deserve the “1” because they are less than that. I waited 15 minutes and watched people arriving 10 minutes after I did to be greeted by wait staff. Never again will I eat or recommend this hole in the wall!!!

There was quite a wait but it was WORTH the wait. Fantastick food and atmosphere. Quaint, old fashioned, lots of dining rooms and outdoor seating if you want to bring your pet.

I eat at Canopy Road Cafe on a regular basis and had heard that Uptown was just as good or better, so I decided to give it a try. First impressions were not good: the Miccosukee location seems a little rundown and not as spiffy...as it should be. The service was a little slow but friendly. My choice for a late breakfast was a vegetarian omelet and I can only rate it as okay, nothing more. When I compare everything at Uptown Cafe to the Canopy Road location on Apalachee Parkway, Canopy Road is superior in every way. Canopy Road is exceptionally clean, the service is always excellent and the omelets and other breakfast items are always absolutely delicious. I gave Uptown a try but I won't be back.More

Don't know what happened to this place but it is going down, down hill. Only saw our server once, when she came to take our order. The bread was over toasted, really hard. Not sure what the tuna melt had in it. Was it even...tuna? A little paint is all it needs to spruce up the place. Especially bathroom. If you sit outside the traffic is very loud so hard to carry on a conversation. Dessert was stale.More

First when you walk in , gives you a grimy feeling. Use the bathroom and you’ll see. Entire place needs a good cleaning. Can’t imagine what kitchen looks like. Just getting to bathroom makes you want to leave. Sit down and hope someone notices. When...they finally do, be patient, very patient, as you might not see them again to take your order. After waiting 10 minutes to take my order I left. The place only had half the tables full. People walking in for take out were served immediately, while customers at tables waited. I finally left so have no idea if food was any good. As I left waitress noticed and said “I can take your order now”. Not.More

Great variety of breakfast food items. Love their omelettes - great with greek veggies or the salmon (understand it is smoked there). Delicious and good sized portions - add in the excellent service and you have a winner. Imagine their lunches are also spectacular.

This place is amazing. They have some extremely creative takes on breakfast and lunch along with classic sandwiches kicked up a notch! You won't be disappointed:-)
