Our reservation was cancelled without notification. My daughter turned 21 years old on Thanksgiving 2020. We reserved a table for 3 three weeks before Thanksgiving to celebrate. I received a confirmation and a reminder the morning of the reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was...closed up. My daughter ended up without a nice, celebratory dinner for her important birthday, thanks to Melting Pot Tallahassee’s management’s decision to close. Had they contacted me, I could have made other arrangements. I contacted the restaurant the next day. I spoke with a gentlemen, not the manager. He said they decided to close due to having only 3 other reservations scheduled that day. Understandable. The restaurant’s manager was tasked with notifying the people with the reservations. Not done. The gentlemen I talked to said he’d let the manager know and he would contact me. Nope. I made a second reservation for that night and the gentlemen know I’d also be there and wanted to speak to the manager then if he doesn’t call me before the second reservation. Another nope. The manager never contacted me as I’m sure he knows he screwed up. We ended up paying almost $250 for dinner and not a word from the manager at any point. We ALWAYS celebrate our important events there, but after this treatment, we will never do so again. It’s too bad the manager had to ruin this for us by his lazy, inconsiderate behavior. The only bright side is the young lady that was our server did an excellent job. It was only her second day on her own.More

This place was absolutely worth the hour drive and I can’t wait to make the trip again. The food was first and foremost fresh fresh fresh. Atmosphere was on a high scale level but perfect for a date night or family night. Our server Noah...knocked it out of the park. On cue with plate at just the right time. But hands down the highlight was the original classic chocolate. Begged the wife for white chocolate, but once again she was right with the Choice. Will definitely be back, probably by myself so I don’t have to share the chocolate.More

First of all, the menu is REALLY confusing so unless you have a server there holding your hand through it (which we did not) good luck figuring it out. Service was very slow. The young man we did have was very nice and friendly but...it was tough to tie him down. I will say this, the cheese fondue part and the dessert part were pretty good. And though the vegetarian option was decent the whole main part of the meal was very lackluster. It seems as though they tried so hard to find something 'interactive' for guests to do on their own that they completely forgot about flavor. Boiled meat and vegetables? Nah. If we went back here (and I doubt we will as it was way overpriced for the quality of food) it would only be for the cheese fondue and maybe a drink or two.More

My wife and I were in town looking for somewhere to get a nice dinner. The food was amazing as expected. I think it may be the town (Tallahassee) that the restaurant is in but to get accosted by a panhandler right on the entrance...to the restaurant is a little to much. I will watch where we go from now on.More

Some friends and I went to The Melting Pot for a more formal dinner and were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the whole setup of the place was great (the way they do the fondue). The four-course meal was so filling I hardly...had room for the chocolate at the end- so plan ahead if you're doing that! It was a bit pricey for the quality of the food, but I suppose you're paying for the experience. But cheese fondue with white wine in it was absolutely amazing! Although I would make it a bit cheaper, it was a near-perfect dining experience, which merits 5 stars from me.More

I stopped by with friends for dinner. None of us had ever been to a melting pot type restaurant before so we thought we would try it. I have to admit, the service was great and our waitress took time to explain everything from how...to order, to how to cook your food. While it was an experience in cooking my food in a bowl of hot water with spices, it just wasn’t for me. You order various types of meat and cook it in a bowl on your table. Everyone cooks their food in the same bowl, so you all have to agree on the solution your going to cook your food in. Since you are cooking the food, the pieces are fairly small since you may choose several types of meat to cook. Sorry, but I rather have a steak and baked potato. This might be great for some, but not for me.More

I am a long time patron of The Melting Pot. My experiences have been hit and miss over the past 10 years. My sisters and I took our mother to The Melting Pot for Mother's Day May 2018. It was her first time at a...fondue restaurant. My sisters and I were underwhelmed by the quality of ingredients and table service provided. My sisters and I are well versed in cooking fondue style, and can san say without equivocation, that The Melting Pot failed to rise to the occasion. The meat was fresh, but the strawberries were served rotten. The Swiss cheese fondue was tasty, but the consistency was watery at the edges and slightly lumpy. This was a FOUR hour dinner, not by choice, but because the oil could not be regulated by waitstaff to cook our food appropriately !!! Like I mentioned, my sisters and I know how to cook fondue, and one of us worked as a waitress at a fondue restaurant. The main course was a disaster. Most of our money was wasted in the oil. The salad was small, non inventive, and not worth the money for lettuce and a slice of hard boiled egg on top. The Desert Chocolate (e.g., milk chocolate) was served cold. It would not warm for 15 minutes. What a waste! The manager (Kevin, I think) compted a cocktail and the chocolate. I want to say, "Big Deal!". We did not eat the chocolate because it was cold. The waitress was uninformed and referred to her cheat sheet for cook times. The waitress failed to check on us, did not reflll our drinks, and told my sister that she could not bring extra curry sauce because "Sorry, we don't do that here". What ?!?! We were all very disappointed in the meal and the experience. I think I'd rather travel outside of Tallahassee to find a new fondue experience.More
