Normally Excellent, but not today. Flies swarming the covered porch at lunchtime. Ordered Fish Tacos. This is what I was served.

We have eaten at the Kerry Forest location twice and have family members that have eaten here multiple times. Food has been great each time. I had been to Peppers which is very good but this place has them beat. We have had the Mexican...Chicken , 3 Amigos and the Nachos El Jalisco. All have been excellent. I highly recommend the latter. Servings are large size and a great value for the money. This place has definitely become one of our favorites. I can not speak for service as we have only gotten take out. However I find the one comment that the food is thrown on plate and heated in microwave surprising as our take out has tasted warm and fresh and the chicken , steak, and shrimp were very tender , not microwave tough.More

I eat dinner here with friends at least twice per month, including last night. Six of us arrived at about 6:30 pm. The place was very crowded and there was a wait for a table for six, which included three children. There was a large...group celebrating a birthday. We still were seated within 10 minutes. Two for one margaritas were delivered within minutes. We ordered Taco Dinners, Carnitas, Mexican Chicken Dinners, and side orders of queso. Chips and salsas were refreshed without us asking. Drinks were refilled on time. The food was absolutely perfect. We even ordered take out for family members who were home babysitting. Our server, Claudia, was excellent and we were impressed with how she handled multiple tables. Do not believe what I am reading about some of the less than good reviews of this place. I have eaten at 7 other Mexican Restaurants in Tallahassee, and this one is by for, the Best. I highly recommend, and I almost Never give the top reviews for restaurants.More

The food is placed on dishes and heated in a microwave! They try to rush you through your meal because everything is already prepared and they just nuke it.

Three of us had an early dinner on a weekday. The restaurant was not crowded and one could have a conversation without shouting. Our server was good and efficient. The food was much better than our recent meal at the Crawfordville location. We also prefer...this layout of this restaurant to the one in Crawfordville. We will return.More

Recently had lunch at this location and it was great! I really enjoyed the Chile relleno. I had a burrito and got the Chile relleno on the side. It was a freshly made Chile relleno. Made with a fresh Poblano pepper! The service was as...good as the meal!More

Food was pretty good. Avoid the strawberry margaritas-they have a medicinal taste. The mango margaritas taste better. Service was slow, possibly because our server was in the weeds in their main dining room. I would not recommend this location. There are 3 other El Jalisco...locations in Tallahassee that are far better.More

On the spur of the moment I stopped here to eat lunch. I sat at a high topper in the bar and the place was next to empty. The server FINALLY got there and took my order. I had to ask for water and silver...wear to eat with. The food (enchiladas with the green Verde sauce) tasted like there had been a wreck with the salt truck. No one ever checked on me after the food was delivered so I was unable to get more salsa or water. I had to flag the server down to get the check. My daughter waited tables for 5 years and I am a very generous tipper, 25% or more typically. For the first time in years, I left without leaving a tip. I left a note by the plate saying why. Very disappointing.More

Tried their shrimp soup for the first time. Served in a huge bowl, piping hot, with a side of rice. Had to wait for it to cool some before I could enjoy it. If you don’t like food highly seasoned with hot sauce, this is...not the dish for you. I could only eat half, and brought the rest home to enjoy next evening. Service always very good. Good 2-4-1 beer and Margaritas. Very reasonable prices!More

So I go with a group to celebrate a birthday. The drinks and orders took a while to arrive. Two us ordered fajitas. They arrived sizzling and looking good. However, there were no soft tortillas, and we were advised they would bring them to us...right away. So like hungry dogs on a short chain, we sat and stared at our food. After about five minutes, my DIL went and asked for the tortillas. Then after another five minutes, I saw the manager, and advised him I would need to go boxes since my food was getting cold because I could not eat it without the tortillas. Still nothing, Finally the server returned, apologized, and said she would bring the tortillas. I advised her to bring me to go boxes because my food was cold, and I would take it home and heat it in the microwave. When the check arrived, I thought at least they would comp to fajitas, one of the more expensive items on the menu, but they didn't. I paid the full price just to get out of there. I requested another server to see the manager, and again waited. I asked the server if the manager was coming, and he just gave me a silly grin. I spent over $100.00. NEVER AGAIN!More

A hometown favorite for us. The price is right, the Mexican menu has it all, the food is great. We dine there often. Special deals on various days of the week!

We can always count on great Mexican food when we visit El Jalisco. The salsa is excellent. I love the fajitas. My fiance loves the cheese enchiladas.

This El Jalisco is the only uptown full service Mexican Restaurant, so we gave it another try. As you drive up, the building is really authentic looking and is just eye catching and cute. The decor inside is also impressive with so many colors and...bright decorations. We waited at the Bar (which needed a good wiping down), and ordered very large top shelf Margaritas that were overly expensive and just about boozeless, but the price of the meal made up for it. Great chips with ok salsa came first, then I had a most delicious Grilled Chicken Quesadilla ...really tasty! The Guacamole was to die for and my husband loved his Beef Enchiladas with a Tamale, Rice and Beans. The four dollar Kendall Jackson Chardonnay was also a plus. Arturo was our wonderful server and we will be back ! If they would just dim the lights a bit, they could add some atmosphere to this pretty place.More

We came in for a late Sunday lunch on Christmas Eve and enjoyed it very much. We were seated and served promptly. The chips and salsa were very good and plentiful. The portions were so large that each person in my party took home about...half of their meal. We eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants and this was as good as any that we've tried. We tried the steak burrito with green sauce, the enchilada trio and the stuffed poblano pepper. All three were good!More
