Perfect score for the chef BUT zero score for the service. I took our daughter,. visiting from out of town, for dinner and was almost embarrassed by the service we received. My daughter ordered an ice tea and the waiter brought glasses of water, which was fine, but when she reminded him of the ice tea he said here is some water, and she replied I wanted ice tea, so he briskly removed her water from the table, in a rather rude way. The special was grouper with scallops in a wine butter sauce and she asked to have Maui Maui instead; that lead to a very confusing dialogue which raised the stress at the table. She did receive the entree she ordered but was quite surprised that he added $5.00 per scallop ($15) to the check and also charged the same price as the special. I must say though that the food was outstanding, but after being guaranteed for so long, it would have been more pleasant to have a waiter be less rude and allow for a better experience.

Sunday afternoon couples stop with inside and outside seating directly on the marina. Service was excellent and view is unbelievable. Obviously a boaters stop for food as plenty of dock space for tie off of boats, no matter size. Valet parking for your car as they need to maximize space and they even made special space for our motorcycle. A bonus was live music outside and there were even some couples dancing. Sun, not a problem, as they have free standing sun umbrellas and move around as needed. Parking appeared packed but we got seated immediately outside, which was our choice. We had salads, Beat and a Wedge, diet soda and the bill was $23. Excellent salad, crip and fresh. We will be back as has all of attributes week seek!

River waterfront location Historical landmark You can come by boat. Great happy hour. Every day at 3pm Half price on select appetizers and there are some great choices. See the pic of the menu. Drink prices are not discounted so a draft craft beer was $7 Pricey but the food deal makes up for it. Excellent crispy chicken wings. Good serving size of ahi tuna. The bar stools have been removed and u can sit at every other high top table. The tables inside and outside have lots of space between them. The servers r wearing masks

As a part of a longstanding tradition, we get together with our friends for dinner on Valentines at Sailors Return outside deck. Service, atmosphere, music all very nice, but it only takes one thing to put a damper on a nice albeit expensive dinner. Their Lobster Bisque was the worst. We ordered two bowls and one cup of the soup that didn't have any hit of lobster in it! When we complained our server said she spoke to the manager, who told her that they only a have a "set amount of extra lobster " to add in, and once that's gone - that's it! We had the soup served at 5:15pm, so they must have run out at lunch! (We all guessed that the sailors return must substitute salt in place of any lobster). If you can't accommodate what you advertise, than take it off the menu when you run out! By the way, no adjustment was offered to bill.

We arrived here around 4:30 and we're quickly seated in a very nice booth in the corner with a beautiful view of the marina and river. We opted to order off the dinner menu which starts at 5PM, so we ordered drinks and a couple appetizers to start. Once the dinner menu was available I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna with a sesame crust and topped with Ponzu sauce and siracha mayo. Served with wasabi mashed potatoes and Asian vegetable. My daughter ordered the Grilled Maui Maui served with a mango salsa. Served with a brown basmati rice blend & fresh seasonal vegetable. Both were excellent and I would order them again. Probably some of the best tuna I've had in awhile. if you want to place on the water to take the family or even a romantic evening out with your that are half this is the place to go.

Enjoyed a lunch with my husband. I had the chicken and fruit salad plate and he had the portobello mushroom sandwich. Both were very good and plentiful. There was all fresh fruit on the salad and it was a very nice variety of melon, pineapple, strawberries etc. Topped it off with a slice of the marvelous orange cake which is a specialty of the restaurant and worth every calorie-laden bite. Setting is in a marina so sitting inside or out you have a nice view of the water and the boats tied up or anchored. Try to arrive for lunch very close to their opening as the restaurant fills up quickly. Service was excellent as always -- attentive and friendly and helpful if you have questions.

Enjoyed our lunch at Sailors Return in their outside seating where we could view all the boat action. Our lunches were good, not note worthy, but good. They have a good wine list, but be prepared to spend more for one glass of wine than a bottle you would find at a store. We dined on fish tacos and chicken salad. The fruit was great.

So let me start by saying I never write a review. Both my wife and I work in the hospitality business and 99% of the time, we can forgive an abhorrent restaurant experience because we understand how underpaid and overworked a lot of employees are. We also understand the shortage of restaurant workers there are to employ due to the pandemic. What we cannot understand or forgive is a restaurant that would employ a tweaked out, drunk of a bartender at what is seemingly a high end, prospering business. Just run short staffed. Do yourselves and your patrons a favor. It would be better than what we experienced tonight. We had every intention of staying and eating, but after our drunk/high bartender had to ask my wife three times what she had ordered for a cocktail and then STILL GOT IT WRONG on the FOURTH try, it made no sense to throw good money after bad. How a business could let an employee just stumble around and be a liability and ruin the customer experience, I don’t know. I guess it’s just that we know what to look for, it was evident that she didn’t want to be there, was in the way, had a bad attitude, and was on another planet. It was both amusing and sad to watch. This place had come highly recommended and we were looking forward to making it our regular spot during vacation, but that won’t be the case. Clean up your act, Sailor’s.

We have visited Sailor's Return many times over the years and had wonderful experiences. Yesterday was a disappointment compared to past lunches. Yes it is Spring Break here in this part of Florida so they were very busy. The service was not the issue. In fact I would give them 5 stars in that department. Quickly seated and a fun waitress who was very attentive. The valets were very nice and also acted quickly. Unfortunately the chicken breast that came with the Caesar salad that I ordered tasted like it was microwaved. It was rubbery, cold and tasteless. There were grill marks on it so I'm only guessing here but perhaps they grilled up a large amount in preparation of the busy lunch crowd and froze or refrigerated them and then threw them in microwave as needed. That is how it tasted from the first bite. We did finish the meal on a delicious note with the chocolate cake. It was a special yesterday and worth every calorie. This will by no means stop us from returning. We will likely wait until most of the tourist and snowbirds have returned home and try again.

The food is as bland and of the same quality as anything you would get at an airport. The chicken salad was dry, tasteless, and served on a stale croissant. The “steak frites” had GRAVY on it but it still had no flavor. So disappointing because the setting in the Marina is fabulous. Go for the lovely view, have a glass of wine. . . forget the food. ☹️

We were a very large group for lunch. Wait staff was efficient in taking our orders, delivering our food and giving us separate checks. I had a wonderful beet salad with walnuts and goat cheese. I added a piece of Mahi Mahi over the salad. $20. Two of my friend had the eggplant stack and they kept saying it was very delicious.

A recent birthday in my group of friends led toa luncheon reservation at this restaurant. Our experience was mostly good. I really liked the burger and the sweet potato fries. The cheesecake is authentic NY style but instead of the options on the menu, ask for the raspberry sauce. It adds the perfect dressing. My only complaint is linked to dessert. I asked the server what they had for the Birthday girl for a dessert. She verbally listed dessert items and recommended a specific cake. The cake arrived complete with a birthday candle and singing servers. We were quite surprised to find that we were charged for the cake to the tune of $12. There were seven of us in the group and we all had cocktails and at least 5 other desserts. I don't know any decent restaurant that does not provide a complimentary dessert to their special patrons. Other than that we had excellent cocktails, and good food. I would recommend this place for lunch as the dinner prices get a but steep.

The server didn’t know what type of lobster they served or anything else about the items on the menu. Appetizer was served to share but no plates to eat off of. We showed up mid afternoon and were told we could not order food until 5. The entire experience was a bit frustrating. I would not recommend it.

My family of four arrived for dinner as out-of-towners on the 4th of July. My son, 4 yo, and daughter, 2 yo, had been awake since 0645 and been a the beach or pool (in the sun all day) without naps. Needless to say they were not in tip top condition rolling into dinner. It also had started to pour rain and have a typical Florida afternoon thunder shower. Every single person we encountered, made our evening so pleasant. Hailey (waitress) was so kind and thoughtful and never made us feel out of place or unwelcome with our upset and hungry kids. She promptly brought water and bread and anything think else we ask for. The hostess came to check on us several times. And the manager (never got her name) took my food back to the kitchen to keep it warm, when I needed to go on a walk mid toddler temper-tantrum. A+ service. From my point of view, as a young family from out of town, the staff made our trip here well worth it. I have never recommended this before, but request Hailey’s section for service, it’s worth it! Also the scallops and sea bass were delicious. And the view of the harbor and sunset were amazing.

make reservations during season. got seated right on time for our reservation time sadly not enough space between us and the large family next to us when they placed two toddler chairs in aisle right between us. all traffic has to navigate the small space. great server seafood platter with shrimp scallops and fish was a big hit. nothing but shells left. a little pricey but the trade off is great service and food. will return.
