Whether it’s for business or pleasure, the casual elegant atmosphere of Sailor’s Return is the perfect place to enjoy an exciting new dining experience in a one-of-a-kind tropical harbour setting. The surroundings are only out-matched by the delicious cuisine. Chef John Demopoulos and owners, Bob and Tracy Davis, have teamed up to create a culinary selection that will delight any palette.
I hadn't eaten here in awhile, so was looking forward to a good seafood dinner. Was not disappointed with the location - beautiful sunset over the water. The server was fine. Disappointed in the food. Ordered the conch fritters appetizer. They had very little conch,...which was chewy and the dough was not cooked through. Two in my party ordered the grouper, which was very dry and not very edible. I ordered the snapper, which was supposed to have rum sauce. I didn't taste any rum sauce. The wine we ordered was pricey and again not very good. This was not the food I remembered from my previous visits, several years ago. At least, the expresso coffee was good. Go here for a drink and the view, but go somewhere else for seafood.More
We came here for a long overdue reunion with family members. Arriving before our 5pm reservation gave us a chance to enjoy a drink at the lively happy hour before sitting down to dinner. A word of caution: the outdoor tables get an intense blast...of sun in the late afternoon, fans and a huge umbrella made the 98-degree heat bearable, but blocked out the scenic view of the yachts in the marina. Energetic and friendly server kept our glasses full and helped us manage the huge plates on the limited table space. I enjoyed the pineapple coconut snapper and the pasta in pumpkin sauce with jumbo scallops got a good review from my companions, but the food quality is not consistent and the grilled chicken was decidedly undercooked. You’ll see all kinds if folks as the live music gets underway in the adjoining Jolly Sailor pub, from those who arrive in a Rolls Royce to others who might have just walked in from margaritaville. A local experience not to be missed in Stuart, and with a bit more attention to the quality and presentation of the food for the price, it would be 5 stars. Reservations a must, even during low season.More
Fish tacos the fish was dry and the crab cake sandwich was only adequate. We asked for extra crispy fries they arrived soggy. They redid and still not good but we kept them at the table. Food was pricey for what you got. Outdoor area...was nice and very noisy inside. Wish we had gone elsewhere this one is off my list.More
We visit this restaurant every time we r in Stuart. It is dependable, food is always good, staff are friendly and service is good. The atmosphere is wonderful. I recommended this place to friends and family.
Nothing beats this waterfront restaurant. Fantastic people watching as they walk up and down the marina esplanade. Food is fresh and the staff is super friendly. A great place for happy hour, dinner, brunch and for live music. Hands down a winner!
My family of four arrived for dinner as out-of-towners on the 4th of July. My son, 4 yo, and daughter, 2 yo, had been awake since 0645 and been a the beach or pool (in the sun all day) without naps. Needless to say they...were not in tip top condition rolling into dinner. It also had started to pour rain and have a typical Florida afternoon thunder shower. Every single person we encountered, made our evening so pleasant. Hailey (waitress) was so kind and thoughtful and never made us feel out of place or unwelcome with our upset and hungry kids. She promptly brought water and bread and anything think else we ask for. The hostess came to check on us several times. And the manager (never got her name) took my food back to the kitchen to keep it warm, when I needed to go on a walk mid toddler temper-tantrum. A+ service.
From my point of view, as a young family from out of town, the staff made our trip here well worth it. I have never recommended this before, but request Hailey’s section for service, it’s worth it!
Also the scallops and sea bass were delicious. And the view of the harbor and sunset were amazing.More
We docked locally and walked to this restaurant at the head of the ramp. We got good recommendations from the local boaters and felt good dining here. We both had chicken cord don blu. We arrived just before they closed and decided to dine at...the bar. Service was great and our meals were excellent. The portions were surprisingly large, enough for 2. Prices were reasonable given the location. Would dine here again if in the area.More
The server didn’t know what type of lobster they served or anything else about the items on the menu. Appetizer was served to share but no plates to eat off of. We showed up mid afternoon and were told we could not order food until...5. The entire experience was a bit frustrating. I would not recommend it.More
