A very nice restaurant, overlooking the water. The fish and seafood were excellent. Here they buy fresh every day and the menu changes daily.

We spent the week here in Siesta Key celebrating our upcoming 49th wedding anniversary. We decided we splurge and go to Ophelia's, and we were not disappointed. Lucky for us, we are staying, within walking distance of the restaurant, but we still decided to drive....They do have valet parking. We made our reservations online, and were warmly welcomed as we entered the restaurant. We sat inside, but with a wonderful view of the water. Their outdoor patio seating was huge perhaps three tables deep across the whole length of the restaurant. We started with drinks and crab cakes for an appetizer. I never had crab cakes served on top of fried green tomatoes, but it was perfect. For dinner, my wife ordered their yellowtail snapper with a coconut crunch topping. The fish was large. I ordered their rack of lamb which was served with carrot, sausage, and couscous. It was expertly cooked at medium rare. Delicious! We finished our meal with sharing key lime pie, and probably one of the best I ever had. It was not too tart, and some can be. And the pie had a lemon meringue topping which made it unique. The waiter brought out two glasses of champagne in honor of our anniversary. Our bill was $197 before tip, and was worth every penny. Although the dining was elegant, the dress code calls for smart casual. There were .ome people who showed up in shorts, but I wouldn't recommend doing so,More

Ophelia's was top-notch from the minute we made our reservation to our visit. The menu changes but the quality if service, atmosphere, and most of all the high quality scrumptious meals are consistently excellent. Joshua our waiter was a charm, and made our dining experience...so pleasurable; his recommendations were very helpful. The scallops and Sable fish were delicious and the presentation was top of class. Highly recommend the crab cakes, best I have ever been served. Extensive wine list and by-the-glass, there again Joshua's recommendations were very helpful. The views of the intercoastal were great from inside or outside on the partially covered deck. Recommend dress is busines casual (my recommendation), but they do not allow tank tops as the door dign suggests. Parking is very limited by valet only, it's like a game of tetras. You can not go wrong when dining here, and highly recommended, if they had 6-stars the would get it. This will be on my list for a return visit, and high praise to the Chef.More

Ophelia’s defines the quintessential fine dining experience on every metric by which you would measure. The flavors that Chef Dan develops are complex, creative, diverse and leave your mouth watering and wanting more. You will experience flavor profiles that truly are unique and most delicious....THe menu changes daily and provides a plethora of options to please all palates. Secondly, its hard to beat the ambiance of dining directly on Sarasota bay with views from every table and the choice to dine inside or under the stars. And as for the service, its quite clear that much attention is given to delivering a extraordinary client experience as all the waitstaff works efficiently and attentively while never appearing rushed. Our server on this visit was Tay. She was knowledgeable, engaging, good humored and exceptional at her craft. IF you are looking for the best fine dining experience in Sarasota, look no further.More

The view is exceptional. The staff is very professional. The food is exciting and delicious! The only difficult part about dining at Ophelia's is trying to decide what delicious item to order! We wish this restaurant was on our coast of Florida! Next time we...travel to Sarasota it will be because we can't stay away from Ophelia's!More

We were celebrating a 35th anniversary and 58th birthday. It was a great place to celebrate. The bread was wonderful. The shrimp scampi was awesome and pumpkin crème brûlée finished it off perfectly. They gave us a champagne toast for our anniversary.

Tried everything they had. Went twice. The Kobe Beef was very good (not Japanese, but you can tell that from the price). The fish items were all fantastic. Definitely worth the price when compared to a lot of the tourist places. This is a team...of people that really want to make sure the quality and service standards are kept to the max. Really well worth it.More

Had the steak tartare appetizer- best we have ever had. The menu changes daily to reflect fresh local catches. I had the scallops and grits- perfectly cooked, and my husband got the lobster gnocci, sauce was not too heavy and lots of lobster meat. Will...definitely be backMore

Ophelia’s sits on the Little Sarasota Bay. It is a lovely setting for a lovely restaurant. We went to celebrate birthdays for my husband and our friend. The service is wonderful! Our server, Anita, was attentive, informative and very pleasant. An appetizer of Escargot was...flavorful and was served on warm puff pastry. The entrees were equally good. Our friend and I both had Caramelized Sea Scallops with grits. The grits were creamy and had a tasty Creole sauce. My husband had a Coconut and Macadamia crusted Snapper that was sever with Sriracha Potatoes and a tropical jam, Another Dinner had the Salmon which was perfectly cooked. Leave room for dessert. We had the blueberry sauced bread pudding which was to die for. Since Anita heard it was our husbands’ birthdays she came with 4 glasses of Prosecco, 2 of which had a strawberry with a lit candle! Overall it was a wonderful experience however, expect to pay a bit more for it.More

Got this email from Ophelia’s a few days after booking. It says free cocktail or wine with an appetizer, one per table. I ordered an appetizer and requested a glass of wine. My husband ordered a beer with his meal. He didn’t order an appetizer....When we looked at the bill, we noticed the beer for $7.50 was deducted from the bill , not the wine which was $15.00. We asked the waitress about this who took the email to the manager and he said the policy was to deduct the least expensive drink. Beer is neither a cocktail or wine. He refused to honor the email as stated. The food was good, our waitress, Maggie, was excellent and other than the poor customer service regarding the email, I would have had a good experience. Terrible customer service for a high end, expensive restaurant. Diners beware.More

This was our one night out on Siesta Key so the pricing was fine but if you are on a budget you may want to think twice about dinner here. It's also OK for (well behaved) kids but it is not a kids restaurant. Make...a reservation and dress to impress. This is not a t-shirt and barely dry swimsuit place. They also have a bar behind the hostess stand for a "refreshing beverage" should you need to wait for your table. We were a table of 6 so we got a pretty good collection of dishes off the menu. All were very good. With wine dinner was ~$100/pp which is in line for high end dining. Wine list is extensive, service was fine and the outside seating is definitely recommended.More
