For years, one of our best restaurants for food, wine, and staff. Unfortunately, something has changed. Food is no longer the same quality, but the prices have not changed. Staff too hurried to pay attention to flow of food. Chef (or line cook) substituted salmon (ran out) for trout filet and server did not even notice. The view is still... More

We were there for my wife's birthday earlier this month and they were just about to shut down for renovations. They do need to do a little of that, but it's an "Old Siesta" restaurant that has captured the "Old Sarasota" feel. It was clean & comfortable, so renovate all you want, just don't ruin a good thing while you're... More

Had dinner with some good friends here on a Monday night in off season. As a local, I had never been and was very excited to try this fine dining spot, one of the only waterfront dining experiences in the Sarasota city area. It did not disappoint as the ambiance was romantic and made for great conversation. We ordered the... More

The setting was peaceful, servers were gracious and attentive, and the food was delicious. Although, one of our party thought the NY Strip was not great and overpriced. Could have been a fluke. We will come back because overall it is one of the nicest places on the island.

We went for brunch and everyone was happy with their meal but me. Everyone ordered the Eastern Shore Benedict , Lump Crab Cakes, Fried Green Tomatoes, Poached Eggs, Hollandaise Sauce. One thing to be noted is the fried green tomatoes as described one would assume to be a side. No it is a filler in the crab cake to bulk... More

We just bought a condo within walking distance of Ophelia's. We'd seen the favorable a reviews, so we were anxious to give it a try. We sat outside in a sheltered area within about 10 yards of the bay. It's important to be under shelter during thunderstorm season, which limits the outdoor seating. There's a larger deck available during better... More

The Sunday Brunch is highly recommended. You feel very pampered starting with free valet parking (or park about 1/2 mile before restaurant at a public park on right). Service is impeccable! But the food! OMGosh! First help yourself to all-you-can-eat pastries including brownies, mini tiramisu, cheesecake, cupcakes and fruit. I had a pear and cranberry cocktail and a mimosa -... More

We are outside under the awning as the weather was a bit iffy. I had the scallops with risotto. There were 5 large scallops seared on the outside and so tender on the inside sitting on top the most delicious risotto I have ever eaten. My partner had the lobster dish which had more calimari and gnocchi than lobster and... More

We dined here for our anniversary dinner. I love waterfront dining. We noticed each patio dining table had its own waiter. That's personal service. The food was fantastic. I had the best crabmeat stuffed flounder I've ever tasted. It was the perfect place for a romantic dining experience.

I witnessed a Valet driver joy riding in customer's cars. As a customer you should be aware of the fact that the Valet drivers joy ride from the Turtle beach parking lot to pass the restaurant and quickly turn around to return back to Ophelia's.

Ophelia's on the Bay is one of Sarasota's premier fine dining waterfront restaurants. Enjoy beautiful vistas of Little Sarasota Bay, from the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the dining room. Or join us for al fresco dining on our open-air patio, as the dolphins and manatee swim by. Winner of many awards both locally and nationally, including an Excellence rating from Zagat as well as being listed as the number one restaurant in America in Power and Motoryacht Magazine for dock and dine. Ophelia's on the Bay has also been voted most romantic, best waterfront and best restaurant with a view by its loyal customers. The menu changes nightly using fresh and seasonal ingredients, fresh fish flown in from all over the world and specialty meats. There is certainly something for every palate! We feature an extensive wine list, specialty martinis, as well as a full bar. Family owned and operated for over 27 years, we have an experienced staff that prides itself on exemplary service.
